The Perfect Love Song!

27 Nov

Yes it is!

The sentiments are rich and full, the visuals (in the video) are beautiful but the meaning underlying it all are breathtakingly true of what we would wish for in life I believe. And I think the man who wrote the words performs them best of all.

“Dance Me To The End Of Love”

Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin
Dance me through the panic ’til I’m gathered safely in
Lift me like an olive branch and be my homeward dove
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love

Oh let me see your beauty when the witnesses are gone
Let me feel you moving like they do in Babylon
Show me slowly what I only know the limits of
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the wedding now, dance me on and on
Dance me very tenderly and dance me very long
We’re both of us beneath our love, we’re both of us above
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love

Dance me to the children who are asking to be born
Dance me through the curtains that our kisses have outworn
Raise a tent of shelter now, though every thread is torn
Dance me to the end of love

Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin
Dance me through the panic till I’m gathered safely in
Touch me with your naked hand or touch me with your glove
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love

My pleasure LuAnn. Sometimes visuals can add a special something. Okay as you guys know travelling as you do, visuals always seem to add something don’t they? :)

    AnElephantCant claim he’s a dancer
Or a poet like the magical Lenny
But he would rhyme off his faults
    Or learn a Strauss waltz
To take the floor with his dear sweet friend Penny

Thank you! I personally find that the singer is very gifted in his performance of this song. He does seem to have captured the essence of his words perfectly! :)

Have seen Mr Cohen in concert many times, most recently outdoors at Edinburgh Castle.
        He is quite superb.
And his songs are poetry put to music.
