Reminding ourselves of our home – Earth!

29 Jan

Sometimes it’s a good thing to be reminded of what a wonderful home we have to live in.

And that we should take good care of it.

It’s the only home we have!

Thank you Ruth, sometimes one does feel very helpless at what they see happening, in spite of their own efforts to the contrary, sigh!

Yes, this is true, and they are a favorite of mine. Did you know in the 1930′s there were many millions of elephants and now a mere fraction of that amount remain, I stay hopeful that we will be able to save this species of animal that man has been so very ignorant and cruel to!

With something as beautiful as that, why are we destroying it?

Incidentally, there was a brief shot of swallows in Africa flying in formation. They are there again for the first time in twenty years

The news of the swallows is good. Why are we destroying it? I imagine for the same reason parts of humanity try to destroy each other. There is no rational sense or reason to it.

Sadly that is so very true. Sometimes I wonder how humans have evolved as far as we have

Maybe we should run the governments of the world. Hmmm .. nah .. too much hassle lol. I suppose we could always eject the warmongers into space though .. and become warmongers ourselves. Ever since the first cavemen figured out how to hold a stick, man has been trying to out do himself and his neighbour.

Even in families sadly. We have a saying over here, don’t know if you do over there “Keeping up with the Joneses” where you try and out do the neighbours. Buying bigger and better than them. I’ve seen it in my own family. I think it is something we have all been guilty of at some point in our lives. It’s how you react to it, and what you will do to get it. Too many decided to destroy what they want so no one else has it. Sorry .. ranting.

No actually a very good rant. Both an honest one and a true one Alastair!
