The Places I Blog

If anyone is curious this is my summer blog/office.

I actually have three locations. The first is my bedroom, sitting up in bed with my laptop enjoying morning coffee.  Franky and Jonny actually have the room they need to be interactive and loving with me. Between the two of them we’re talking more than 50 lbs. of cat. What can I say; they’re my guys, my BIG guys.

The second location is the family room, where everyone hangs out – on and off – during the typical day.  Sometimes noisy but most delightful in a good interactive way with children/friends coming and going, a teenager w/friends coming and going, and adults/we discourage a lot of coming and going with adult friends. That’s more of a let us know when you’d like to drop by kind of thing.

And the third I already mentioned, the patio outside. It works on sunny/cool days, not so much on overtly stormy or roastingly (I know it’s not a word but it works for me) hot days!

And just so you know, I tastefully omitted any references to the ongoing chaos that accompanies a house with 2 adults, 2 preteens, 1 teen, 2 dogs (1 little, 1 large) and 4 cats. I did this to keep up the appearance the photos hopefully represent, ambiance in a pleasant and comfortable habitat. Did it work?

Oh, Oh! …Tempus Fugit (A Latin expression for time flies.). It’s time for a smoothie. I love smoothies. This one has (I don’t use a measuring cup people, it’s a ‘personal what-you-like thing’ but if anybody wants to know the approximates I’ll be happy to share) fresh blackberries, strawberries and blueberries, a frozen banana (Thank you Alton Brown from Good Eats on the food channel – great tip about what to do with the slightly too ripe bananas. Peel the bananas, wrap with plastic wrap and put in the freezer.) Anyway after the fruit I add a handful of uncooked oatmeal (boosting the fiber) and some plain yogurt (probiotics) Doesn’t it sound healthy? Well its also delicious!

Okay, back to my writing while I sip on my smoothie. Tomorrow’s the day I respond to the wonderful blogger awards I was recently given by some very nice people. Everyone have a good day, today! And yes I am now headed outside to my 3rd office!

One more thing, I can’t help myself, a photo of my cats when they were adorable little kittens. I’m constantly asking myself – What Happened?

  1. Three locations?! Be careful to not over-expend…lol. The patio sounds great, and smoothies are among my favorite treats. How many pets do you have? From this post’s photos there seem to be four, but who knows, more four-leg-freinds might be hiding elsewhere?:-)>.

    • Thanks, well let’s see, there’s a small dog that I nicknamed “Mr. Barker Pants” easy to figure that one out. Then there’s Sasha a 10+ year old sweetie bear who is half German Shepard and half Chow. My two guys (the felines), a 15 year old female tabby who is cranky but the real boss over the other animals and then theres the newcomer who is now about 3 who just showed up and stayed when he was about a year old. He spends most of his time outdoors. There that’s the crew. And we love every one of them! 🙂

    • Thanks, there was a lot of creative placement with the photography to capture the seemingly tranquil settings. The reality…in my dreams. Having said that, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I appreciate your visits. I enjoy both visiting your website and hearing back from you. Very much. Have a good one today!

    • Thank you Rick. I was a little serious last week with some of my posts and I wanted to let people know that there is a fun side to me also. I greatly appreciate having you in my life (virtually speaking) and if I may, consider you as a friend. Again my thanks, hope today is a good one for you.

  2. Love the patio blog spot. One day when I have a patio – I’m sure that will be one of mine too.
I heart smoothies. Hubby makes me one to have with my lunch every day – Yummylicious!
    Enjoy your Sunday 🙂

    • Thanks Rosy what you didn’t see (creative photography) was the bicyles, scooters, wakeboards, weeds, lawnmover and miscellaneous other things. But I do enjoy sitting out there. I agree with the yummy part of a smoothie. Oh and way to go having a sweet loving husband. Thanks for being a friend and coming to share. I’m so appreciative. You have a great day also! 🙂

  3. Thank you for inviting us in to your lovely home this morning. Looks like you have some wonderful settings in which to blog! Your kitties are beautiful now, an when they were babies – well, one can melt! Also thanks for the smoothy reminder – i used to enjoy them a lot and sort of forgot about them … going to start the habit again ~ berries are rich in antioxidants. Have a wonderful day my friend ! 🙂

    • Thanks Robyn, I agree they’re beautiful but when they both get on top of me in the morning to wake me up, it is a little uncomfortable! 🙂 But they’re my guys and I do so love them. The smoothy is my way of making up for the days I don’t have enough good things in my diet. I juice periodically also, to bolster my veggie intake. It does make a difference. You have a wonderful day also dear friend! 🙂

  4. ahhhh what a lovely bit of photos Penny and love Frankie and Johnnie although I am more the dog type . Anyway looks so inviting and even relaxing oh and inspiring until ou listed household members then I knew, you either have the best mom tuner ‘offer’ (my word) or the kids tip toe going shh moms working LOL Seriously they are beautiful spots to blog. the smoothie sounds wonderful, looks delicious and I learned something …what to do with those pesky bananas. Love it !

    • Thanks Len, yup lots and lots of daily interuptions and chaos-wouldn’t have it any other way, and the smoothie is honestly really good. I have days when I don’t eat what I should and this is a tasty easy way to something good for me.You are an observant lady, I’m glad to have you as one of my friends. Have a great day! 🙂

  5. So nice to see where you do you work. At least I think blogging is work. You make it seem so easy. I love the blogs that just seem like a conversation. Makes us all so real.
In the background of your 3rd picture (when clicked and enlarged) do I see some of the chaos-ities you omitted?

    • Thank you! I’ve been feeling a little guilty with some of the comments about how lovely everything is and they overlooked that it was a somewhat humorous representation of what I’d like it to be. Most generally there is a chaos, as it should be in a vibrant and interactive household. Works for me. Have a great day! 🙂

    • Thank you Marianne, it is peaceful like that every once in a while, and I’m grateful for those times. Hope your Sunday is a very pleasant day for you. 🙂

    • I’m starting to feel guilty here, Valeria. It does look wonderful and ever once in a while it is like that, the rest of the time its chaotic and crazy, with constant messes to clean up. But if I could I’d have it like that every day.Which was the point of my creative photos. But I agree, life is good, we just need to let it be so. Thank you for your visit and comments I do appreciate them and you very much. Have a great Sunday. 🙂

  6. i want your patio! it looks gorgeous! my garden is still stuck on the ‘no money to get past the bit where i put in three flowers and some fencing bit’ and my dog, my collie not my tiny dog, knocked over the pretty flower bit i had 😦 not her fault she was playing but poor flowers do not look pretty now i shall try again next year til then i shall dream my garden looks a little like yours 🙂 have a superfab day xx

    • Thanks kizzlee, I guess I did a good job with the photos then because you didn’t see all the extra items that I needed to put away or the partial projects still not finished or the miscellaneous other things that I creatively moved aside to shoot the pictures. And your home sounds filled with fun and life, as it should be. You also have a great day. 🙂

Thank you for your thoughts!
