I’ve thought about this for quite a while now. Years, actually. I’ve found nothing to change my thinking on this subject. I believe that deep inside every single human being is a set of inner truths, call it a genetic marker, call it DNA sequencing, call it natural instincts, call it the human soul, It exists in each of us. We are born with this signature of Inner Truth.
Each day of our existence we wake up and go about our daily activities and for some of us we dwell on the why of who we are. Mostly we find no answers. A mystery as to the why of this. None the less the Truth waits inside for us to discover, nurture and grow.
Many who are creative connect more quickly to inner truth. They can’t help themselves. They become so enraptured with the beauty of life in their chosen creative format that their inner truth is revealed for others to see through their artistic expression.
And just because an artist perceives their inner truth doesn’t mean they understand it. All too frequently their emotions are tossed and turned by the ebbs and flows of life and what they know is there but cannot understand or define – the mystery continues on.
My Inner Truth
I awake to the day of my life
Purity in thought, word, and deed
bending never breaking
a calm in a storm
always there
at peace
Caring, loving
being that whom I am meant to be.

Hi Penny: I like what you say here…keep on being who you are meant to be. 🙂
Thank goodness it’s what I do best lol…being me that is! Thanks for such a lovely compliment, I appreciate it so much~Penny xx
very truthfully said !
Thank you, I appreciate your compliment very much, Penny
You ever try to read something but there is something about the illustration that makes you lose all focus? i know we talked about the good genes before and now you touched on the double helix dna, maybe that added to the distraction…lol I also want to add, before I proceed any further, of my credential of saying the first honest thing that pops into my head. And I’m sure you’ve read enough of my blogs and comments to know, I will say it regardless of any future consequences…lol. It may be crazy and come out sounding really bad and offensive, but I assure you I mean no harm and I’m only saying it with pure good intention. Besides, its probably something that is on most people’s mind anyway, they are just not saying it…lol. Here goes…
First obvious observation: you and your kids are really really good looking.
2nd observation: I’m not even gonna beat around the bushes on this one. YOU have a timeless face, from then to now.
Conclusion: I see dollar signs!! No, I’m not implying the reality TV show that we previously discussed…lol. I think you can run a parallel blog dedicated to beauty tips and secrets. I have a really good feeling about this one. I’m so certain it will be only matter of time before you can get advertising revenue and endorsement deals from various beauty product companies. Heck it could be something that you are using right now…lol.
Just as FYI, I did fully read this blog but I am too honest to say it was good or bad, because nothing but the word DNA registered in my head 🙂
Um, not sure where to go with that. I guess I’ll start with thank you. I’ve always looked young. And I believe in longevity (I’m aiming for 125 yrs) and I stretch every day, and I have a good attitude about the whole age thing. And I work on trying to eat healthy (sometimes good, sometimes not) That’s about it. Nothing secret. I think it’s mostly an attitude thing, I guess! I don’t think much about it! I just really enjoy life! Again thank you so much Chris!
Now that’s a good tip that everybody can use. Plastic surgery or the latest exercise craze isn’t the answer 🙂
That’s funny, last night when I told Christina what you had said about a reality show and you mentioned a certain tv show on now, she said that too, at least no plastic surgery here. 🙂
lovely words indeed
Thank you Celestine, I’m headed over there for a visit right now see you in a few! 🙂
I read your post earlier this afternoon, but didn’t get a chance to comment. Now, I read it again and love it.
I think your inner true may also be part of inner realization. “Being that whom I am meant to be” is where I’m longing to be. It’s so beautifully expressed. Thank you, Penny!
Thank you Amy, That is very well expressed re: the inner realization. I like that. Something more for me to consider. 🙂 Thank you for your wonderful compliments I do so appreciate you and your talent as well my friend. 🙂
It’s so wonderful to have such a pleasant exchange as “the sun while yet unset”. I don’t need a glass of wine…
Yes us creative types do like to gather together. Sometimes I feel like the world wide bloggers are a part of a huge “artists colony” you know? 🙂
very well said, Penny!
🙂
🙂
Thanks Stefanie, 🙂
I feel your inner and outer self to be truly beautiful! I feel that at times I am still searching for the why of who I am but am thankful that I now have the time to discover me 😀
Yes the best feeling of all I think is when we get to give ourselves permission to really like and explore who we are. Discovery away, I already know you’re one really great gal and perhaps, we might be able to meet during your travels. A nice thought to think of anyway LuAnn, both of you enjoy your day today, special hugs to you, Penny 🙂
Blessings to you my friend 😀
You as well! 🙂
And how can I forget… Your photo is radiant! :). Just gorgeous inside and out! xo
Thanks Robin that photo is 5 years old. A few months after it was taken my world of those I love began to change. I lost through illness, my father, my mother, my husband/best friend/ Almost my gorgeous daughter/my beloved son-in-law and then the stupid cruelty to Christina and the children during their time of need. A tumultuous 5 years indeed. So events have changed my life but I’m happy to say that I am approaching this wonderful new place as the result of family and most especially people just like you. I want to truly shine again as I used to. It’s the me I like the best! Thank you Robyn for your warm words, so appreciated, much love your way!
Loved this Penny! And so agree with what you have brilliantly expressed through your narrative and poem. I do think it’s all vey energetic…. And beyond understanding even for creative souls… But we feel it more, perhaps. I love your own ” inner-truth’ too. Exactly how I envision you to be!!!! Mush love dear friend…. You are a treasure to know! 💝
Thank you Robyn, I feel exactly the same about you, across the board on all your comments, just so you know! I feel so very blessed to have you in my life, you do light it up! 🙂

Wise words, I always think it’s intriguing reading about the people who have creative genius but view the world through its faults. However your views always make me happy so I will stick with you and leave the Kurt Cobain’s etc for another time…
Oh I am speechless (all evidence to the contrary lol) Thank you. That is one of the nicest compliments I have received. I am very flattered and appreciate you so much! I think you and I have much in common my friend, Hope your today is fantastic! 🙂
My day was, sadly, rubbish, I had a hole in my sock and work was rubbish and I still haven’t finished reading The Road. however a chat with you makes it all worthwhile. We have stuff in common because we are awesome, I’ve been saying it for years but now there is proof. Hehe.
Sorry about the hole in your sock, sorry about your work being rubbish, sorry about your unfinished reading, however I’m very happy about the chat and totally agree with you that those-who-read are filled with awesomeness (not a word, but it sounds cool!) We are the proof! 🙂
Happily, I am now flying along with my reading! So all is right with the world again. yay!
A good place, I agree!
I looked at the phot on the blog and said, “Hmmm…she looks familiar.” Duh. Inner truth is shining.
Oh Alice what a wonderful compliment. Thank you so very much. You are greatly appreciated by me, I’m hoping your day has been good and your tomorrow even better! Again thanks, you made mine brighter with your sweet words! 🙂
Perceiving and (not) understanding :). Your inner self is beautiful as this fairy portrait 🙂

Crazy and stressful for me with some health nuisance too, but today suddenly I am feeling a new energy coming in inspite of 40 Celsius :S. Keep in touch honey 😉
I will, it is getting a little busy with the other great friends I’ve been making, but I do enjoy our exchange so much Paula, thanks, 🙂
Beautiful words and a beautiful truth.
Hello Victoria, I do appreciate you. Thank you for your very lovely words. I hope your day is going well and your tomorrow even better, Penny
The older I get – the more I understand my inner truth. Too bad we aren’t born with it.
PeAce to you always!
Thank you Rosy, yes I agree completely with you. Peace to you also my most special friend, Penny
very well…indeed….my creativity instinct has led to finding my true nature
Isn’t it a wonderful feeling, somehow freeing I think, 🙂
You are a strong woman, demonstrated by your ability to bend but never break and further by knowing it!
thanks Lesley, you know what, I’m thinking that my favorite expression every day is “well I try”. Some days it goes better than others. Thank you for such lovely compliments I appreciate you very much, just so you know! 🙂
such a depth of thought here – thank you
What a lovely compliment. Thank you so very much, I try to not be too (heavy) with words (you know the whole wordiness of things lol) Hope your day is a good one for you, again thanks 🙂
you were not too heavy – you were just right
Beautiful and poignant as always

So powerful, poignant and wise my dear friend. Prayers for your day to give you joy, love, peace and creativity .
Thank you Len for you love and prayers, you are so very much appreciated!
We might think we know it all, but this is one thing that we can never be sure about. Well, may be ‘never’ is too strong a word, so let us say one needs to be in a different level to know their inner truth..
It is a great write up, Penny 🙂
Thank you. I agree with your very wise words and greatly appreciate your compliments, again my thanks, 🙂
What great words. You never cease to amaze me with your powerful words. It is another fantastic post. Thank you for sharing it with us

You’re welcome Penny 🙂
I’ve been out taking photos of the cliffs today. I’m hoping I can upload them today for you.
Got my poem finished, I just feel the first eight lines are stupid so I’m going to have another look at it. Hope you have a good day today
Thanks, a little hectic with realities of life. Nothing bad, just busy. I am so pleased you were at the cliffs today, I do look forward to the photos. I’m guessing your poem is probably close to being ready. I do look forward to your words, I have a hunch they’re going to be wonderful, not an expectation, just a feeling I have my friend. I hope the rest of your day is good for you also. 🙂
Photos are up 🙂
Headed your way. 🙂
