chaos – change
… by embracing change … Perhaps? And perhaps starting up “again” some of those comforting things that have fallen by the wayside that are within your sphere of influence. We all have one of those spheres, and yes, some are larger than others, but we all do influence … most of us more than we know.

Journal Entry ~
I find the words “Needing to preserve a way of life.” an interesting turn of phrase at a time when there is a worldwide environment of change descending upon us. Upon refection, I understand! All of us have comfort spots, things that become routine in our lives – things we derive pleasure from. For many of us it seems we are losing these comfort spots while racing towards the unknown future. So preserving a way of life is perhaps ambivalent at best! The now and near future seems like a considerable mish-mash of a whole bunch of amalgamated messes, most everywhere one looks. But I think that chaos is a companion to change isn’t it? So the solution … Cherish memories, open your heart and mind to change, and … go with the flow, as best you can!

Summing up: I found a few quotes, some more than a thousand years old, related to what I believe the best m.o. for today is “Go With The Flow”!
~
Heraclitus
Everything flows and nothing abides, everything gives way and nothing stays fixed.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
The quality of the imagination is to flow and not to freeze.
Ovid
All things change, nothing is extinguished. There is nothing in the whole world which is permanent. Everything flows onward; all things are brought into being with a changing nature; the ages themselves glide by in constant movement.
Lao-Tzu
Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them – that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.
Chuang Tzu
Flow with whatever is happening and let your mind be free. Stay centered by accepting whatever you are doing. This is the ultimate.

go with the flow

Absolutely Teresa, thank you very much ~ Penny
I’ll post it post haste. Thanks.
Great post Penny and some very powerful quotes to go along with it. Going with the flow is something that took me awhile in life to attain but now I feel part of the gently flowing river of life, a much healthier, peaceful way to live. 🙂
It is, every now and then I do stroke against the current and then (like when I’m kayaking) I remember to ride the waves, much better that way! 🙂
Today I listened intently to hear my name be drawn for a trip down to NYC for the Sandy Relief concert. I didn’t win and at another time in life may have been disappointed but … I realised when listening to the winner that it was as it was supposed to be. A man who is a Christmas tree seller, couldn’t afford to buy his daughter a ticket to the BonJovi concert here in Montreal entered the contest so that she could see him in NYC. Happy ending!
While I still have a healthy taste for competition, it is not my sole purpose to win but rather enjoy the ride. Now that going with the flow comes so easily to me, life has become so much more enjoyable. Did I go off topic? 😀
Love it Leslie! Absolutely loved it! 🙂
Awesome post and great find on the quotes. Very true … go with the flow ….
As much as we can Alastair, yes! 🙂
AnElephantCant agree more
He embraces the idea of chaos
We are all on the move
He now plans to prove
That only our hearts can betray us
whoa, heavy stuff! 🙂

thank you for posting, change is such a beautiful word sometimes hard to accept but we most all follow that path, good day!
Thank you Doris, I appreciate you stopping by also. I hope any changes in your life that may be happening for you are good ones!
A very good point. While change is with us, there are values that need to be preserved. And yet, preservation of those values frees us up to let life unfold into new dimensions. You have given me something to think about (and you know how I love that!!!)
Yes I believe I do! 🙂
