The Coffee Cup of life – It’s about balance isn’t it?

Nature does it … balancing things out, working hard at keeping the ecosystem alive and running efficiently (not that we humans have exactly been helping much there).

Know that for everything that happens there is an opposing reaction to balance things out.file000704919536

A forest fire produces vibrant new growth shortly after for example.

Balance in our daily lives is important and one of the hardest things for us to get a handle on.

Whether you’re having a good time or a miserable one, balancing things out so you can move on, go forward is essential.

So a few quotes on the whole “Balance” of things in our life!

~

“The best and safest thing is to keep a balance in your life, acknowledge the great powers around us and in us. If you can do that, and live that way, you are really a wise man” ~ Euripides

~

“What I dream of is an art of balance, of purity and serenity devoid of troubling or depressing subject matter – a soothing, calming influence on the mind, rather like a good armchair which provides relaxation from physical fatigue.” ~ Henri Matisse

~

“In art and dream may you proceed with abandon. In life may you proceed with balance and stealth”ย  ~ Patti Smith

Have a great week, thanks for stopping by, stay balanced!

  1. Great thoughts and quotes on balance Penny. Even though we all tend to forget it, after many years of living on this planet that does seem to me that it’s a law of the Universe. And, coffee (one of my most favorite of things) does seem to help lots when things seem to get out of balance ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Hi Rick, great to have you here! Happy New Year! Balance shows itself better in nature than anywhere else I think and Coffee, well it definitely is the elixir of life isn’t it! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Thank you for showing us that Penny. If we are having a miserable time now, things will pick up soon. By the same token though, if we are happy, something will come along and take that away, but only temporarily. Hmmm … going to have to remember that.

    Thank you Penny

  3. Oh Penny….being a Libra, one would think I’d be a master of balance but, alas, that is not the case. Your picture reminds me that I am on the hating side of a love/hate relationship with coffee…ahhh…such is life. Your post is lovely…thanks. (believe it or not, I’m 1/16th Metis)

    • Not surprised about your Metis connection Nancy, I can sense these things (weird but I just can). No worries on the coffee, I enjoy a cup of coffee with hazelnut flavor, but not much more than that. Too much coffee and I get way to wired! Thank you for the compliment!

  4. I am glad I could excite youso much. I want to know what this tells you about me ๐Ÿ™‚

Just something about seeing rocks balanced is so peaceful. I believe rocks have energy and I collect rocks from around the world from when I travel and my friends travel. i have rocks from all over the globe. Do you remember the movie, “The Long ,Long Trailer” with Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball and how she collected hugh rocks?

    ivonne

    • Yes I do remember that movie. It is soooooo funny, honestly hilariously so! I have rocks from everywhere I’ve been, picked up by myself and saved and then given to various people at various times, still do (collect them, that is. I don’t know how to explain to you what I “feel” but like you I sense the energy in the rocks. Yes very peaceful.

  5. Balance is key to almost everything, i believe Penny ~ I always work at it. With the passionate nature, it’s sometimes a challenge — but very important. Sending you big hug and lots of love this evening ~ Love to you dear friend~~ Robyn

    • Perfect, just perfect. I love rocks more than just about anything in nature (except maybe trees) and balanced rocks are the most wonderful allegory to life that there can be Ivonne! Sorry got a bit excited there. You hit one of my โ€œmeโ€ spots! . Do you know the โ€œMรฉtis (/meษชหˆtiห/; Canadian French: one of the Aboriginal peoples in Canada have a strong belief in balance stones and what they represent! Thanks for sharing this, it tells me so much about you as a person!

Thank you for your thoughts!
