It should be about being the BEST you know how to be!
Stay focused (like this beautiful guy in the photo) on your personal goals, and remember …
Winning is just an added bonus .. losing a most important experience to learn from.
Well unless you’re playing chess. Truthfully even in this the most classic and excellent game of strategy it should still be about being your best, not better than the other person.
The best form of competition is the one you have with yourself! Penny L Howe, 2013
Have a wonderful week,

Great advice Penny. π
What is the saying “it’s not about the winning, it’s about the way you destroy your opponent.” and what is the other one I remember “if winning isn’t everything, why do they keep score?” I actually love those two sayings.. just for the humour in them and nothing else…
Yes, I like those sayings myself, same reason! π
Love this advice, Penny, and the beautiful photo! π
Thank you Lauren hope your week is going well for you! π
AnElephantCant claim he’s an expert
Though he occasionally succeeds at Chess
But more important than winning
He finds he’s beginning
To just enjoy doing what he does best
As he should! π
Very good advice!
Thank you Deana!
Yep! Exactly right!
A big kiss, love and a very fine and sunny week to you, my dear Penny!!!
π
…my parents pet is a weim [like the one in your picture] so I’m all too familiar with that focused look!!! Couldn’t stop laughing! π
Intense isn’t he! π
A sunshiny week to you also my special friend across the seas! and all the smoochie stuff too, marina! π
Being your best and losing is just one step away from learning from learning the others strategy and smiting them. I enjoy competition, although sometimes it is polite to lose to keep the peace….
um … not in chess! π
