Yes I am.
My library of motivational books is fairly extensive. Why?
Because over the years, when I needed it most, I would find my own motivation in the words of others who had overcome all manner, shape, form, and substance of adversity.
When I was absolutely sure I couldn’t go on, couldn’t even make it through the day I was in (feeling overwhelmed with life and problems and seeing no way out), I would first wallow in self pity and then I’d pick up a motivational book. I only had a few in the beginning. But over the years the number of motivational books on my shelves grew and grew.
And now these books are my friends, my reminders, to not take myself so seriously, to forgive, to move on, to to give, to care, to live, to love but mostly to believe in myself.
I figured if they could do it then so could I. And every time I doubt myself, I read their words again, or go buy another book and try harder to understand more about my ability to overcome and be all that I could be.
We (all of us) need each other. The written words of those who know and cared enough to pass on their wisdom and encouragement, faith and motivation is a testament to this truth!

I know i don’t often comment, but i do read and find your posts very inspiring π
xx
Thank you Vikki, I appreciate your taking the time (a valuable commodity for all of us) to comment. Thank you also for the lovely compliment. Penny π
Yes, we do all need each other, true. Great post. I find a lot of other societies other than ‘ours’ recognise that ‘need’ better.
Our country has had a disconnect there, I agree. Hopefully we can learn from those societies that have a better grasp than we – on the subject of needing one another.
You know I’m with you on this Penny – the value of various inputs to aid self-motivation! π
Thank you Ruth! π
I prefer the people method for motivation – which is not easy to find. Well – it wasn’t until Boomie introduced me this wonderful world of blogging.
You are one of my top inspirational people & motivators – no pressure π
xx π π xx
Thank you RoSy! π xo
I believe that motivation is what we do with inspiration. Now – when we are low and there is no inspiration on the horizon there may be cause for nudges, words, friends, quiet walks and more. Lovely post!
Thank you Marge for commenting and stopping by, I appreciate it very much!
Beautiful post , You are very inspiring, Penny.
Thank you Stefan! π xx
I do the same and my library of those books is still growing I love reading them even when I don’t feel I need them. There are such great books out there.
Thank you Ute! xx
I used to have a self-motivation book, but I was always scared to open it. The times that I needed were the times I refused to pick it up. Yes, sometimes I still get so low that I don’t want to do anything, but you normally post a piece that gets me going again.
This another incredibly motivating and inspiring piece. Thank you Penny
Thank you Alastair, xx
I sincerely believe that motivation is found deep within, and not from books, or other. Books, others can only be a support or a conductive line. The force is in us Penny! We just need to wake when it falls asleep. Sincerely π
I agree. Or at least sometimes I do. Sometimes books are just a distraction if it becomes away of avoiding action. I have also found them a prompt to action though. The thing is to follow through.
Thank you Wyon, wise advise indeed. Thank you also for reading and commenting (our time is most precious for each of us)!
Thank you Gys, your words are true indeed my friend! π
Beautiful post, Penny. You’re very inspiring π
Thanks Dianne. Stay cool and take care of you these next several hectic months for you! π
My self motivation has never wavered a moment.. even when at the very bottom, which we have been, I still had plans of where we were to go…
That is excellent bulldog, but I’m not surprised to hear this from you, my friend! π xx

Thank you Ivonne! xx
