Hey everyone, and of course all you hundreds of millions of trekkies (yup, that many)! I just have to share this video with all of you.
William Shatner, (A Canadian who became famous as Captain Kirk of the Starship Enterprise for the sci-fi cult tv show – Star Trek) is a movie star, tv icon and writer of science fiction. He’s also 82 years old. Does that slow him down? Not a whit!
He owns a horse farm (loves to ride) does tv commercials, shows up on tv shows, and so forth and so on. The follow commercial is for a new video game, and Shatner (as always is at his best) Please enjoy – a lot!
I also think he is an excellent representation of the meaning “living every day of your life to it’s fullest!” btw any of you who think I might be exaggerating click this link for his upcoming activities Bill’s Appearances!
Live long and prosper William!
~ Penny
A good chuckle!
π
Hi Penny.
I really like Bill Shatner, obviously for Capt. J.T. Kirk, but also for his abilty to laugh and be laughed at, plus He is a tv icon, and a pioneer in tv history π
I agree with Carl, I think Picard was without doubt the finest of all the captains, not because he is British ( in fact when I first saw Encounter at Farpoint I couldn’t believe how wooden they all were) but for what he stands for, his principles, and how the character has grown, which I suppose you could put down to great writing and great story lines.
Without doubt my 2 favourite episodes are “The Inner Light” and The Best Of Both Worlds, both of which i can watch time and time again.
Hope you are all ok and that life is treating you well. I’ve been offline for a bit, but hopefully will be able to get back on a bit more π
Love n hugs to you and all your family, especially Christina,
hope to see you again soon
xxx
Thanks Nick. Sometime you and Christina should have a discussion about those two episodes and Captain Picard. You both think pretty much the same regarding that character and those episodes! π Will pass on your love and hugs to the family and am sending same back to you and yours, take care of you!
with much affection for you, Penny π xo
Cpt Kirk has been [and still is] a hero to many people, my hubby included. He’s to blame for my Trek awareness – for which I am very grateful!!!
Great guy!
π
I’m right there with both you and your hubby my friend! π
This one is for you. Β http://spearman101.wordpress.com/2013/04/02/very-inspiring-blogger-award/

*MY GOD IS AN AWESOME GOD!*
I didn’t know that Len. I agree a most remarkable man! π xo
Pure brilliance. I love that. I like the way he sends himself up. Leonard Nimoy does it in the alternative video of The Lazy Song (I would link to it on here but don’t know how to on my mobile as my Internet is down )
Sorry about your Internet, glad you got to enjoy the commercial though. He’s great isn’t he! π
Apparently it will be fixed in the next 24 hours :-\
And then she posts about my beloved Star Trek….. I have met William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, and George Takei at a Star Trek convention in Vegas several years ago and have photos of them and me together. LOL It was pretty righteous! You should see my home office here, it is a Trekkie shrine! Great post especially Penny. And…. I think my all time favorite quote from my favorite Trekkie Mr. Spock that I shall share with you is…….
“I’m polymerized tree sap and you’re an inorganic adhesive, so whatever verbal projectile you launch in my direction is reflected off of me, returns to its original trajectory and adheres to you.”
~ Spock
Roxi!! I am a celebrity through knowing you π Post them will you?
no problem… gotta take them off the walls, out of the glass frames they’re in,, then scan them… i’ll try over the weekend deal?
Hi Roxi, yeah I just couldn’t help myself with this one. Glad you liked it! I love Spock’s Quote too! And I agree with Lesley, looking forward to seeing them! π xx
What an amazing guy! I wish I’d be like that, when I’m 82:)
My guess is you’ll be even better Mitzie! π
We Canadians are very proud of our Captain Kirk. Thank you so much for starting my day with humor!!!
My pleasure Rebecca! Glad to make a happy difference my friend! π
You always do….
Thank you for your lovely compliment!
That was so funny!! I can’t believe he’s 82. He doesn’t look too bad for such an ancient dude (says she who just turned 65 π )
You’re just a kid Lyn! I plan to be around ’til I’m 125, you should too. π
Love it, I was one of the regular background actors on the show, The Next Generations.
How cool is that Ivonne! I am waaay impressed, and how fun for you also! A part of Trek History! Fantastic! Just shared this with the family here, they agree with me! π
I remember the first time I went in for a costume fitting and I walked through the set of the enterprise–I got chills running down my spine–It was pretty awesome—
We’re all so envious (but happy for you too) here! It would be an amazing feeling, I can only imagine!
You have to admire this man who keeps going and still takes the jibes about what a corny actor he was ! thanks Penny
I agree with you Lesley. He’s more into living than living up to anyone else’s expectations of what or who he was/is or isn’t! xx
and that is a Canadian trait. We are polite on the outside, fun loving and f-you without a doubt π – Let me go laugh now hugs Penny π
AnElephantCant stop laughing
Old Bill Shatner has never been equalled
But what if AnElephant flies
Space Ship Enterprise
And boldly goes into space in the next sequel
He’s hilarious here isn’t he? That would be most excellent if you were in the next sequel, Captains Log stardate 2013, anelephantcan’t is now in command of the ship. OMG (Gosh)! Engage, engage! π
Picard was best of all captains but Shatner remains synonymous with series.
I think you may be right in both cases because he was the first, Carl! The great thing about each captain, (my daughter prefers Captain Janeway with Picard a close second) is what each leader exemplifies in the human spirit. Never giving up. Going for it, believing in the greater good for all! I thank Mr. Roddenberry for his genius in creating the show.
