I love to ride bicycles. I always have and while I must claim no relationship to the Howe Machine Company of Glasgow …

I would very much wish to have owned the amazing looking tricycle in this very old advertisement from Paris.
I instead have settled for this poster applied to several attached boards hanging in the playroom of the house.
Isn’t it awesome?

I want to ride my bike,
I want to ride my bicycle
I want to ride it where I like.”

You always know how to make smile! I love this one! Would be so much fun to ride that!
Wouldn’t it just be a gas (excusing the pun there lol)! ๐
That is one cool lookin’ bicycle! I’d go bike riding around the hood with you on this type of bike. Wouldn’t that be fun?
xx ๐ ๐ xx
I mean tricycle/trike!
๐ xo
A total blast RoSy, yes it would be tooooo cool! ๐ xo
Technically, the first gas-powered vehicle was something of a glorified tricycle called a Benz Patent-Motorwagon that came out in 1886; it was invented by Germanyโs Karl Benz.
Now that, I’d have liked to have seen Alejandro!
mmmmmm, I can picture myself looking all debonaire on my grande Howe tricycle ๐ Gonna see what its going for on ebay.
Yeah right, good luck with that one! Although there’s probably one there … ๐
AnElephantCant stop laughing at this pic
It is so funny it makes his old eyes tickle
He thinks you should know
That we say in Glasgow
Tricycles are thricicles as nicicles
You know I wondered if you’d notice the Glasgow and Paris significance to this poster, coincidental as I’ve had this poster for years, but life does present the oddest circumstances for us to be confounded with. Great saying, Love it, thank you very much for stopping by and commenting, I do appreciate it so very much! ๐ xo
Love this poster!! And of course, also love the Queen song….was humming it before I even scrolled down to see that you had put some of the lyrics. ๐
Kenley
Hi Kenley, Thanks, I adore queen too. Love their music. ๐
Oh my, wouldn’t it be fun to have a tricycle like that! The poster is great but, like you, would love to be able to have the real thing
It would be a fine an excellent experience wouldn’t it! ๐
I wonder if your descendancy can be traced back to Scotland. I know mine can be traced back to America ๐
That would be a ride and a half to find that out
Sorry, couldn’t resist
Ha, ha! I’m busy tracing my ascendancy, to the future and beyond! ๐
Hahaha ๐ That made me laugh
I also want one like that .. an original… can you imagine what it would be worth.??
No, probably a lot, but it would be incredible to have wouldn’t it!
can you imagine joining all those parades of the old cars etc… it would be something special… but I do wonder why one never sees these except possibly in Museums? maybe they didn’t have the staying power of the old cars…
Yes, it’d be a riot. That’s an interesting question. Just as a novelty item you think you’d see more of them. I guess not, or a huge petroleum consortium supporting them, lol!
It’s interesting to see how bicycles have evolved … The “Howe Machine” ๐
Hi Tina, Yeah now if it were only a time machine! Perhaps in the near future! ๐
I am so attached to my bicycle at the moment that this made me smile lots – Thank you Penny!
I ca tell on the bike how much stronger I am — using highest gear to pedal and it’s effortless (unless a lot of wind). Pain does not seem to flare on it – so I’m basically having love affair with the thing ๐ We have a date each day around 4 pm. I will tell him tomorrow about your post honoring the bicycle with this fabulous Paris poster! ~ Love to you, Robyn
Robyn, you don’t know how happy I am to hear about your new friend! I have been hopeful about your riding and it is just excellent to hear its working so well for you. Thanks, tell him I said hi too and he should keep up the good work with you! All my love, Penny
