I – the written word
To many I am transient,
In the moment, well thought of,
but just as quickly put aside.
my creative purpose, too frequently, surpassed,
seemingly for a better one.
And I in the midst of presentation
of poignant knowledge,
for your acquisition and enlightenment,
am left behind.
My sole passion to create your passion,
shaded subtleties and secrets
I would share for those who dare to read and learn.
Not just partake as in a feast,
feeding temporary hunger and then moving on.
Do I illuminate most vividly or is your viewing superficial?
My value and meaning dependent entirely on you.
And I – the written word – await the outcome!

I like this so much Penny! It is so true, we are truly dependent on the views of others in relation to how our words affect them. Yours are never superficial and I value them and all that you have to say. Sending a warm hug to you on this Sunday morning dear Penny xx
I receive your warm hugs with much thanks Ruth, may your evening be an enjoyable and relaxing one for you! xx
You always “illuminate most vividly”. Your words are just magical. 🙂
Penny’s written words speak to me, knock some sense into my head, & remind me of things that I should be aware of!
xx 🙂 🙂 xx
And RoSy reminds me how lucky I am to have her as a friend and neighbor, let’s go hang out at a pub tonight (actually I don’t do that but it sounds like fun anyway lol) 🙂 xo
LOL – I don’t pub around either. But – would go with you for the fun of it! 🙂
Good to know RoSy, very good to know! 🙂
Oof! This is great, words are so versatile but it is the writer and reader who hold the pwer to get the most out of all the nuances. I could languish in this post for a good while. ‘shaded subtleties and secrets’ is my favourite line…I think, there are so many.
Thank you SteJ. It was fun to write about words! 🙂
I liked it and enjoyed reading it. 🙂
Thank you, for stopping by and taking your time (a valuable commodity today) to read and comment. Thank you also for your compliments! 🙂
I know Penny only as a written word.. and boy is she worth knowing…
Thank you Bulldog, you are very kind with your generous compliment my friend! xx
And you – the written word – are worthy of reading.
Thank you Alastair! 🙂 xx
You’re welcome Penny 🙂
Bravo!! I loved that. 🙂 Hugs Paula xx
Thank you Paula, much appreciated my friend! 🙂 xx
