The True Meaning of the infectious giggle

The following words were spoken to me this morning by the oh-so-wise eleven year old young lady living in this household!

Now that’s a quote I can really get my arms around, both figuratively and literally! Children do have a way of reminding us of what is truly important in life. And they are always the most simple of things. So why are our lives so complicated? How come we lose this awareness when we grow up, and why?

I recently visited one of my blogging friends, Doris who posted (with great photos) that a fun way to “escape” is to spend time with children. Check her post out, just click on her link! She’s right!

The talented and delightful Emma was recording her laughter for a video she is making (both her and her brother are into movie making). Emma’s area of interest is making moving cartoon videos from her original characters that she draws. Jack – two years her senior is also into Stop Motion videos, lego pieces and people (he has one of the sinking of the titanic), and also racing/crashes with hotwheels cars. (The process is laborious and takes hours). They both do their own uploading and editing including voice overs of their videos!

Emma and Jack

So Emma has been recording her laughter and giggles and playing with it for the voice over for her latest cartoon video. She just came into my writing room and asked me to listen to her laughter. We both ended up laughing for 5 minutes. So naturally I had to share her “giggle” and her reason why laughter is a good thing, with all of you!

Essence of the infectious giggle as demonstrated by Emma!

Make the best of your day, even in the most difficult of circumstances. Laughter does help! So do children!

    • Hi Ivonne and thank you. Talent seems to ping off the wall’s here. Both their mom and I stay protective, since the loss of their dad. All three children (Jordan, whose a teenager) are beautiful to look at and individually talented so we are cautious with their exposure in the online world, we are looking for a venue that will allow them to show their videos (Emma’s cartoon videos are awesome) from a platform of safety as to what they’d be exposed to (naturally, they want their own Youtube Channels and so on) Hopefully soon! 🙂

  1. I laughed with you both also! 🙂 What gorgeous looking children. Sorry to hear what happened to your son inlaw. I have my 2 grandsons this weekend as their dad is staying for the weekend. They are 3 and 7…can’t wait to hug them! Lovely post, Penny…Hugs paula xx

  2. So adorable- I love Emma – and Jack !! This was a delight Penny — kids can teach us so very much…. It’s great they are passionate about movie making too – fantastic!! Creative spirit abounds in that home! 🙂 Love to all of you! Robyn

    • Thank you Robyn. Yes they can. I learn new things everyday. Their fresh perspective on life is an excellent thing to be exposed to. Yup lots of raw talent running around this house, lol! Lovin’ It! and you of course, sleep well my friend! 🙂 xo

  3. Adorable grandbabies you have there. Adorable Mom. And of course, adorable grandma. Laughter from children is priceless. Whenever I hear a baby laugh, it just melts me to my core. Dunno why, it just does. hugggs xxx

  4. AnElephantCant ever forget Emma
He bets she knows what he is going to say
    She wiggles and squiggles
    She wriggles and giggles
And she is still the prettiest girl in the whole USA

  5. Thank you Penny, that set me giggling. They are both beautiful looking children and the fact that they are beautiful on the inside gives you an added blessing. I love Emma’s quote. incidentally, my granddaughter is also an Emma and we often set each other off giggling 🙂

  6. Penny you made my day with this post!! What a beautiful post, she is so right laughter is everything, love her picture, and her laugh so contagious. I am going to bookmark this blog post when I feel a bit down will listen to her laugh, thanks Penny!!

      • Thank you Doris, they are beautiful inside and out. And life hasn’t been easy for them. Jack is borderline aspergers, Emma as a baby and then as a 3 year old had physical problems where her life was a risk for awhile, and then 3 years ago their dad was killed in an accident by a careless driver. They are my grandchildren. Loving and brave in spite of what they have dealt with to date! Yes I am most protective and proud of my courageous daughter and her 3 children. One more who is a teenager! Thank you so much for your compliment!

        • They will be forever in my prayers, what a story you just told me, that is the beautiful thing about kids they take life so differently, I am glad that despite all the suffering they can smile and have fun with their beautiful grandma ;). And your daughter she is a fighter too, so sad about the accident, but they have a angel who is always with them. Thank you for sharing something so personal, life makes us stronger with each lesson in life, but I am happy you have 3 wonderful grandchildren who make you smile and be happy. Have a wonderful day hope is a creative one!!

          • Thank you Doris for the invite, Lisa invited me also. I absolutely love to draw! Looking forward to tomorrow my friend and thank you for your caring words, I am very blessed, indeed, and never forget it for a second! xx

          • oh good, tomorrow I will put my drawing and will link some of my friends, can not wait to see it.

            sending you blessings Penny!!

    • Thanks Alastair, not really ready to release those yet. They are creating a great set of learning tools, so don’t want them to have to also deal with the audience (public) part of it as yet. Both have a few awesome ones though! 🙂 xx

  7. Laughter is hte best medicine, they say and it is true. Laughter is one of the most wonderful things which makes us happy and worry free! Laugh a lot!
