The forgotten flower

meadow flowers

~

Lost amidst the meadow’s view

forgotten flower poised so true.

Lingering in the morning air

none to breath thy fragrance fair.

Silked, unfolded petals wide

forgotten flower, you abide.

~

Forgotten flower still unseen

and yet you reign, you are a queen.

For unbeknownst to all this day

crowned with sunshine’s golden rays.

 Morning dew with sparkling glow

jeweled petals did bestow.

~

You’ve become a radiant sight

although unseen, your glory’s bright.

Unfortunate who cannot see

unwitnessed still, for all you be.

Forgotten ’til there does appear

someone of worth who’ll hold your dear.

Forgotten flower never fear

your time for view is coming near!

especially those forgotten ones
A forgotten flower should not be,
if we chose to – we will see”

  1. What a truly magnificent piece of poetry, Penny. You never cease to amaze me. Multi-talented 🙂

I agree that the flower should not remain unseen, but sometimes it is hard for the flower to make it’s presence known, and sometimes it would prefer to be unseen, even though people see it. It tries make itself seem non-existent

      • I took a photo last year, I’ve never used it as it is slightly out of focus, and it is a poppy growing out on the edge of a cliff. My nephew was panicking as I was leaning over the cliff to get the shot.

They grow where they feel comfortable. Like children I suppose. They grew in intelligence and confidence and love where they feel comfortable 🙂

      • ’tis not a league we do this for my dear… all are important… every word… every stanza… equally have the power to rattle to one’s very core. 😉 hugggs

Love your muse. Love you my friend. xxx
