A post for the erudites in the group – The mistake!

When Gravity meets Ego!

Upon occasion it comes to mind that perhaps I misspoke myself. But then again upon recalling certain events I am quite certain I would not have made a single change to the words I addressed to you.

The situation was notably ripe for a potential of mistaken context. This was made abundantly clear to me from the outset.

In retrospect. I find it most difficult to admit to an error of judgement. As it cannot be for any other reason that you would have departed my domicile.

I am most confident you will, upon reflection, recognize my outstanding qualities and shall post-haste return into my welcoming (If slightly disappointed in your behavioral patterns which denote profound immaturity of which I am currently willing to overlook!) arms.

I have assured myself that you will return – and so it shall be. For why on earth wouldn’t you?

Your not so humble servant,
A currently Single Male Individual (with a, still, too highly inflated ego)

Just having fun. I hope I brought a few smiles into your life today. Don’t let your ego get in front of your common sense or more importantly, those you love!

    • I feel the same way Celestine! Highfalutin is a perfect word for this. God bless reading books. Those words came in handy for me a time or two in the professional world, when I needed a few ego-oriented business men to pay attention to the professional agenda and not my gender. Yes big English indeed, my grandmother would say “Being too big for your britches!” lol ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Heck, it was just plain ol’ fun to write this one. Actually when in the “professional world of things” Robyn, I was “known” as someone to not mess around with in the “advertising world of things”, lol! I had a “rep” lol! Okay so it was probably true too, but it was fun to cut a few of those “ego oriented” individuals down a size or two! I’m sure you know of what I refer to here! Much, much love, xo

        • I guess I was, didn’t think about it much then. Just knew I didn’t have time to deal with the ‘bs factor’ Yeah, in the trenches would’ve been great fun, Robyn. Indubitably! x

  1. Erudite, did you say…? ‘That’s me’ is what I think, first off. I read further into the post…. ego?! ‘NOOO! THAT IS SOOOO NOT ME’ is what I think.

I love your take on things here. Great post as always… bringing a laugh to me, at me. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Take care… my erudite friend!

  2. Sheeez had to start off looking up the meaning of erudite.. then realised it wasn’t referring to me… so felt a little better when reading the post…lol

  3. The ego is not master in its own house.

You did bring a smile to my face…:) Your post got me thinking and I always keep my ego on check. ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope this quote by: Freud brought a smile to your face as well. ๐Ÿ™‚

Say, I just posted a new blog: check it out. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. I always worry that when someone unfollows my blog I have upset them some way, when it’s probably just that I’m boring (which is better to me).

    • Hi Lisa! I wrote this piece as a “tongue in cheek” reference to people we know with large egos! I doubt very seriously that anyone would unfollow you but if they did, it would be their loss, not yours my friend! I hope your Monday is being a good day for you today! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you for your thoughts!
