Seeing Eternity

They say on a clear day you can see forever. Perhaps this is so. But I think … if you’re high enough, viewing the world by looking out, over thick misty clouds stretching off into the horizon … perhaps you feel like you’re seeing eternity.

You stand there, poised above everyday problems, staring into a vast distance of possibilities and potentialities; this moment in time etched in your mind – one you’ll remember forever.  The day you were high above the clouds, above doubts and fears, with the sense of belief … that perhaps you can.

It’s time for the fun and creativity of Friday Fictioneers. A group of international writers (clever and witty ones, I might add), who share their writing talent each week. Prompted by a photo they write a flash fiction (100 words approximately) for your entertainment and pleasure. Hosted by the very lovely Rochelle, this is a challenge to participate in – if you enjoy writing, and having fun! Click on the Friday Fictioneers link for more information!

If you enjoy reading, click on the links in the blue box collection.

Thanks for stopping by,

Have an excellent day and better tomorrow,

~ Penny

  2. I like flying in an airplane…at that point where you can see clouds all around you. I remember reading somewhere that a pilot tooke photos of cloud formations that reminded him of soild objects. What a cool coffee table book that would be…

  3. Perfectly stated Penny, and in fact my favorite part of every flight I’ve taken is when you “bust through” those clouds to see nothing but brilliant blue (and possibilities) spread out before you.

  4. This is wonderful. To me there is just something about clouds that seem hopeful … encouraging. Maybe because they make everything seem so small when they are larger than life.

  5. wonderful.. this really spoke to me.. i had my celebration up in the mountains… greens, clouds, hot spring.. it was so peaceful and beautiful and i felt that way “this moment in time etched in your mind – one you’ll remember forever” felt so great to distance myself from the world even for a while, makes one think of what really matters 🙂

  6. I need to get some sleep…
    I read: “…But I think … if you’re high enough…”
    & thought –
What – Penny doing pot? LOL
    xx 🙂 🙂 xx

    • You know what is really interesting RoSy. When I lived in State College (home of Penn State U.) I went to a party and of course had to gave it a try! Guess what, I’m allergic to the stuff (my throat closes up). Luckily as I spoke with those who were (high) we discovered (to their astonishment) that I go to that place naturally, with my view of life and nature. So I guess I am on a natural high! 🙂 xo

  7. Great write, Penny! Wanted to add a little note for you: Hubby is being transported to a rehab facility in our home town tomorrow. Day 77 ends his critical care hospital confinement!

  8. I like the feeling you conjured up here, Penny. It’s like the feeling I get when I’m on a plane on a cloudy day and then the plane breaks through the clouds, showing me the sun (which my mind knew was there but didn’t feel real until the plane came out into the sunshine.)

  9. How so lovely described Penny, floating amongst the clouds, soaring high into the stratosphere and far beyond 🙂 When I return properly around the end of this month I might just pop into the Friday Fictioneers and see what it is all about 🙂

I hope that you are enjoying a fine week so far Penny 🙂
