Attitude is not a Platitude … It’s a choice!

Attitude!

That word is a big one for me.

Each of us has our own personal belief system and values that we find important, but I think in life it still comes down to what we do with what life hands us.

It really is all about attitude, how we respond to life, others and our personal challenges. I learned very early on the extreme importance of attitude. I believe the following words are true. Even if the author of these words is unknown.

“I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me
and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with us all …”

Have a positive attitude today, you might surprise yourself how well it goes,

  1. And as there is little effort in smiling opposed
to frowning we can all follow a positive existence 🙂
Have a wonderful rest of evening Penny 🙂

    Andro xxxx

  2. I love how you left it at ‘positive’ attitude, because even a nasty attitude can become a positive attitude when the its used to defend your personal belief.

    • I’ve got to wrap my understanding around that one Chris. But I agree in essence. You can stand firm in your beliefs without being mean and nasty about it. In fact you can stand exceedingly firm and still be quite polite about it. There are some people that are very difficult to like (especially when it gets personal – speaking from very serious experience here) but I’ve pretty much made my own point with those I do not care to be around clear, without bringing myself down to their level (which can be a very hard thing to do – Worth the effort though, for our own emotional health!) dear friend! 🙂 xx

      • I don’t know Penny…I tried the whole polite route for many many years, but it just isn’t effective for certain line of work. Sometimes you gotta hit’em with everything you’ve got all at once, gotta overwhelm them first. But of course my personal life is something I treat much differently. I really do think the whole positive attitude will get you where you want in life 🙂

        • You know Chris, I have a bit of a rep’ for being “direct and specific” and my employees used to joke about “don’t make her mad” so I understand. In fact sometimes I was so exceedingly focused in my positive politeness that I scared the crap out of – honestly those needing it. But I still tried to do it from a positive perspective, lol! 🙂

          • Only a handful of people can pull off that kind of feat, folks like Ghandi, pope, Mother T, …Penny H. Its a gift 🙂
I can only do what I do for about 5-7more years, and I’m out. That’s the only positive perspective I have regarding work. Hopefully I stay grounded via other interactions so I don’t become the guy everybody hates.lol Definitely not easy playing the bad guy, but somebody has to do it.

            • Maybe a curse, Christina and my very strong macho son said I’d get this “look” in my eyes and their friends would all shudder! Could be a survival instinct thing! I can’t see you becoming the guy people hate. But I understand! You have two fans in this household for sure!!! 🙂

    • Hi Wendy, it’s so nice to see you. It’s been wayyyyyy too long since I’ve visited you! Thank you so much for dropping by! He’s a cutie isn’t he? All that positive hope in his little body to get the basket ball through the hoop (as it should be)! Thank you for your lovely words, 🙂 xx

  3. Good afternoon (Sunday down under) Penny,
I agree attitude is all important in everything we do day to day.
Most people like people and find it energising to make contact in one way or another. The contact we make can be affirming or supportive, encouraging or critical in a constructive way.
How we give out to others will often determine the attitude we receive back. Treat people as you would like to be treated.
    Have a good day.
