The most caring and compassionate person I have ever met! The Honorable Dalai Lama! His kind and loving spirit, an excellent reminder to all of us on how to conduct our lives. Your experience in meeting the Dali Lama is something most of us can dream about. Good for you Penny, like most people he has the ability to impress anyone who comes into his presence. My favourite story about him is the answer to the question: Why does the Dali Lama always have a smile on his face? The answer is he gets the joke! What a wonderful experience it must have been to visit with and be in the presence of such a peacefully wise man.
Stopping by your place is a breath of fresh air. Especially after working outside. I’m still plugging away at trying to clean up part of a large tree that fell – partly in the neighbors yard, who complained that it was still there…
Though not hurting anyone, while it did already kill her grass that it fell on.
Such is life. It doesn’t matter that she rarely uses that part of her lawn or that isn’t even the ‘best’ manicured lawn…just that she perhaps having a bad day…express the wish that it got removed. Even after knowing that we can’t get professionals in until the ground freezes and that my husband travels.

I understand he meditates something like four hours before he even begins his day and takes Bodhisattva vows daily too. Inspiration is too small a word…But as another Buddhist teacher said, ‘Your friends don’t want you to be a Buddhist, they want you to be a Buddha’. It’s not about following rules…it’s about living it, being it with each breath…

Hi Kizzy, so good to have you here. You have been a very busy beaver when it comes to your books (and creativity my dear friend)!
Meeting him was a fortunate and lucky thing, a few years ago he was in Washington D.C. on a special trip to meet with leaders, attend a fund-raising event, as well as visit with a group of scientists (he’s fascinated by science and the workings of the brain) – anyway – through some connections of connections, it was set up and I flew back there to meet him, attend a few functions, etc. A most special time for me! I spent just a little time with him, but a fair amount of time with his entourage and his personal photographer, oh, what wonderful stories they shared with me! 🙂
