Poetry and Contemplation!

I’ve been pondering quite a bit these last handful of months as to whether or not I wanted to continue blogging. The friends I’ve made here in blogland are awesome (you know who you are) and I can’t say or feel enough good things about you!

I have been going through the archives of some of my older posts and found a couple of poems I’ve written that I decided to share (or if you read them before, share again).

Hoping your weekend is a great one for you, with much love – Penny!

Solitary contemplation of the kitten kind! While musing over the unfinished strings of life.

Life – A Privilege to Nurture

The first to give honor
The second to share,
The third to be humble
and try to be there.

~

When making the difference,
in that which you do,
you make for a difference
the truth within you.

For all That I am Not

If I be poor in spirit
may I be rich in deed,
If I be poor in doing
May I still plant a seed.

~

For all that I am not
may I be something more,
For all that I can be
Is what I’m striving for!

Ethereal Life

Enjoy what you are given – in the moment,

From one heartbeat to the next it can be gone.

Share what youโ€™ve been blessed with – in the moment.

From one heartbeat to the next it can be gone.

Laugh with the richness of life โ€“ in the moment.

From one heartbeat to the next it can be gone.

Love all you can love in the moment.

From one heartbeat to the next it can be gone.

Live every moment of your life to the fullest.

From one heartbeat to the next it can be gone.

  1. Penny, we need your blogging to counteract any negativity and because you are an utterly awesome blogger. You make me think and I love that. You are a fantastic person. Don’t let them win, blog forever.xx

  2. Penny, as much as I would suffer withdrawal pains if you no longer blogged, I would certainly understand. There must be a considerable amount of energy expended on writing the posts that you do at times, especially with as much compassion as you possess. I feel like we cannot begin to give back to you all that you give to us. Do whatever you need to do for you and know how much we love you dear friend. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Hi LuAnn. Thank you, so very much for your words. I know they are meant sincerely. I hope to keep blogging, I feel this is a turning point in my life (we’ve had a few of those – you and I – haven’t we.) I know I will figure out a solution for the budgeting of online time and offline as well as how to be measured with emotions as I interact with others around our planet. All my love to you (as always) dearest friend and sister mine, Penny ๐Ÿ™‚

      • It is an interesting place you are at my friend. I have been laying awake at night for the past week mulling over what I want to do with my life and what changes I want to make. I am needing to find more balance and I just need to set off down the path that will take me where my heart knows it wants to go. I wish you the balance you are searching for. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Just been reading some of the comments
Sorry the negativity is getting to you but that’s where our two blogs come in! We both concentrate on the positive and the beautiful and our followers do really appreciate that. I don’t mean to add to any pressure to continue! Just know how much you are appreciated! Here are some more (((((hugs))))) for you! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. I love your ‘In the moment’ poem, something we should always remember. I know what you mean about the blogging. It can be a pressure and your blog of all blogs should not be that, giving as you do so many wise words to us all. Maybe we put ourselves under too much pressure.
I’ll continue to visit when I can and when you do post. Take care and take your own very good advice! Love to you and yours ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. I love your words of kindness and wisdom Penny. Lord knows we all need it. Sometimes life bogs us down with pressing issues but I hope you continue to write here once in awhile at least, that should keep us fueled! ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Lovely poems! And Penny? NEVER EVER EVER EVER leave us ! We need or I need a daily dose of “Pennys pomes and writing” ๐Ÿ™‚
By the way: I’m sending you the lullaby of hope and love next week ๐Ÿ˜‰ โค
    Love
    – Tina

    • Hey Partner! It’s cool, just a little irritated with negative politics and people in this country and around the world. Can’t wait to hear our lullaby Tina, and a special thank you for all your love. All my love in return, Penny ๐Ÿ™‚ xo

  7. Selfish me says – OH NO DON’TGO!
But – as my fave neighb – I say – do what you gotta’ do.
We must still keep in touch though. There’s no escaping me. ๐Ÿ˜€
    xo ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ xo

    • Hey fav neighb! I’m sure I’ll continue on, RoSy. Just a little fed up with the “hate” and negativity I keep seeing in politics, etc. Everyone here is doing fine, however! Sending you lots of love and hugs too, and I am ecstatic to hear there’s no escaping you! You’re stuck with me too!!!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ xo

  8. Penny, I always find your material inspirational, so I hope you continue blogging. I think we all have doubts about the way things are going in our lives. Itโ€™s just a natural phase of humanity. Just please stay with us.

    • Thank you Alejandro. I’m sure I will, everything is going well on my home front, no worries there, I have been over emotional about all the negativity going on in this country, for no good reason that I can see, when so much good could be happening, if all the people would realize how lucky we all are. Thank you again my dear friend for your warmth, caring and encouragement. I am very lucky to have you as a friend! xx

  9. I have been thumbing through Walden this past week and found this quote that reminded me that sometimes there is a time for reflection as well as conversation. โ€œI have never found a companion that was so companionable as solitude.โ€ Henry David Thoreau, Walden

    Will be thinking of you…

  10. Penny, I do hope you stay in blogland, I need your inspirational, warm hearted posts, I need your love, your hugs, your wisdom. You know you will be missed if you go, but it is your decision of course. Even if you are pressed for time once in a while a post is enough. Well whatever you decide, I respect and I still love you. โ™ฅ
I love the last poem, just perfect! Big hugs!

  11. I hope you don’t give up. I always find your posts inspirational, and I know I want you to stay blogging for selfish reasons – because I love reading what you write, what you draw, what you share.

You won’t get rid of me easily though. If you do decide you want to take a forever away from blogging, you have my email address and I have yours. You were one of the first real friends I made on here, so I would miss seeing your posts.

To quote this great friend of mine:
    When making the difference,
    in that which you do,
    you make for a difference
    the truth within you.

    You make a difference Penny.

    • Thank you Alastair, and ditto my very special friend. We’ve come quite a ways haven’t we? I’m sure I’ll be continuing to blog. All’s well on the homesite just trying to deal with my emotions over much of the stupidity and cruelty I see going on around the planet right now. I guess I need to desensitize myself. Well okay, that probably won’t happen, but I’ll still work on it.

Again, thank you for your wonderful and supportive words dearest friend of mine, much love, ๐Ÿ™‚ xo

      • Our news at the moment is taken up a lot with the destruction of parts of our country, and small tidal waves hitting our shores, so we don’t see much of the world news.

Sorry, I deleted most of that comment as it went all soap-boxy over the stupidity and cruelty. Suffice to say, I agree with you. It is upsetting.

I am glad you are not giving up. The blogging world would be a lot quieter without you.

You will never fully desensitize yourself, you can only ever get to the stage where you become numb ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

  12. It’s alright to take a break once in a while, I took a few months off to get new material and came back ๐Ÿ™‚ you should also check out dailypost.wordpress.com for some ideas if you like ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Hi Andy, thanks. And a special thank you for your thoughtful ideas – so very much appreciated by me. I’ll probably keep blogging, just currently feeling a sense of frustration with some of “those in charge” around the planet, right now! ๐Ÿ™‚ xx

  13. I do hope you consider remaining in our blogging world as you are embedded into our hearts and you would be sorely missed. If you ever wanna talk, you know how to reach me dear one.

p.s. Are you buried in snow where you are? We sure are here in Portland.. LOL, had my very first ‘snow day’ today! Yippee LOL

    Love & Huggs!

    • Hey Roxi, my gal pal. Yes I do and thank you. All is well here with family. My problem has more to do with the negativity going on around the planet. we (humans) are capable of so much good, it breaks my heart to view the “hate” going on with different groups and people. Sometimes I wish I had less “heart”. Having said that, I’m glad I do care about others and I’m sure I’ll continue to blog, this is just a blip in my emotions right now.

Yes we do have a fair amount of snow up here (for the last two days). Yippee indeed, all my love to you and of course hugs too (from me and the rest of the group here)! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you for your thoughts!
