Grasshopper Posing!
He sat there posing so nicely, I couldn’t resist. This is a photograph taken last summer. I stepped outside and there he was …ready for his close-up, so I obliged.
~
And then I was reminded of this scene from a television show. Master ‘Po’ is teaching a student ‘Caine’, in a monastery, a lesson:
Master Po: Close your eyes. What do you hear?
Young Caine: I hear the water, I hear the birds.
Po: Do you hear your own heartbeat?
Caine: No.
Po: Do you hear the grasshopper which is at your feet?
Caine: Old man, how is it that you hear these things?
Po: Young man, how is it that you do not?
I wonder what we miss because we aren’t really listening? Our planet is calling to us. Do you here her?

Thanks for stopping by, have a great Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day Penny! 🙂 xo
Hi Debby, thanks. Every day is earth day, or it should be. Have a great weekend, kick back and have some fun too! 🙂 xo
Thanks, Penny. You are so right. Happy weekend to you. I’m buried in revisions. 🙂
I worry so that if we don’t act soon by taking some very dramatic steps, we may be too late. Mother Earth has been so very patient with us but I fear her patience is waning.
Yes, too true, LuAnn. Remember that great commercial – “It’s not nice to fool Mother Nature.” The truth is, she’s never fooled – ever!
Nope, just very patient, but everyone has their limits. 😉
Loved this post. Reminds me of a scene from a wonderful book called, ‘the art of hearing heartbeats’. Blessings on the earth, and blessings on you:-) H xxx
Thank you Harula. Did you know that our heartbeat tunes itself on the rhythm of Mother Earth’s pulse? Those invisible vibrations that all life consciously or unconsciously is aware of. I’ll bet you knew that! xoxo
Great catch!
We really do need to listen to our home a little better.
xo 🙂 🙂 xo
I agree with Alastair! Unfortunately. We should be so much gentler with her!
It is good to know that some of us are, Ute. And there are more each day who join the “caring” group where our mother earth is concerned. Diligence, determination and of course caring will get the job done (however sooner would definitely be better than later!!!!) xx
I hear her. She is crying out in pain.
Sigh, yes. Yes she is!
I adore that photo. It is awesome. It’s great when they just sit and pose isn’t it 🙂
Too true. And there were a variety of outtakes as well, before I got just the right one and he patiently posed through all of them! 🙂
Haha those outtakes can be amusing. You can imagine the thoughts going through its head:
“Nooo you are not going to take my soul in that thing.! Never! Never! Nev..er…! Oh go on, I give up” 😉
Sometimes I cry with her too.
I know you do RoSy! We cry together! But we also hope and care – and it does make a difference! 🙂 xo
