The Why of “Fracking”! A Poem of Nature

Meanings of the word Fracking

1)  A creative word signifying a strong emotion (originally from dialogue on the TV series Battlestar Galactica) used  or spoken to replace a profane word that we can all figure out.

2) The process of injecting liquid at high pressure into subterranean rocks, boreholes, etc., so as to force open existing fissures and extract oil or gas. It is obvious that Big Business would rather rape our lands to get that extra dollar instead of investing in alternative, safe and healthy energy forms.

The Tracking of Fricking  “Fracking”

The land on which I dwell is supple rich and pure

… which makes it prime for rape.

The land on which we depend, needs be supple, rich, and pure

… and yet they take and take.

The Land on which we dwell, suffers from misuse.

… Will misusers not awake.

The Land on which we dwell cannot exist for long

Earthquakes

Polution

Drought

Please Stop … for all our sakes!

    • You said it RoSy! Meanwhile – actual hungry and starving children and adults stay hungry, for real when the greedy dollars would make a difference. This MAKES NO SENSE, dearest and special neighbor of mine! 🙂 xo

  1. This is a topic that infuriates me! We have family who live in OK and we too experienced three earthquakes within two days while we were there last year. I so hope this trend of greed and power changes soon or I fear what is in store for future generations.

  2. Fracking is proving to be more costly than the benefits are worth. A recent study by the U.S. Geological Society confirms that fracking is causing more earthquakes in the state of Oklahoma than any natural forces. Fracking is also contaminating groundwater. It just doesn’t serve any viable purpose.

    • Which is nonsensical if one thinks it through Dom. Hurting so many, just for profit and power, and in the long run (or short) it won’t help any one of those at the top live any longer! Absolutely senseless!

  3. Very true poem there Penny. They started fracking near here last year and ignore d the pleas to stop. We had an earthquake in 2006 and another in 2009. To start fracking here would be to create worse than the 4.3 we suffered.

Maybe if more places had solar panels and wind farms, maybe if more cars didn’t use so much juice. Maybe if public transport didn’t cost so much. Maybe if people weren’t in just for the money, then there would be no need for it. In less than 200 years, this planet will be nothing but an empty shell where mankind has destroyed everything for the sake of money
