I Need You!

Tell me that I’m Wanted

Tell me that I’m wanted … hold me ’til its true.

I know that I am needed, but what if I need you?

So many bits of flotsam, emotions streaming live,

This, that and everything, butΒ where in there am I?

I’m dying for the need in me, a need to be fulfilled,

Please hold me close and give me, the same for you I fill.

The want in me is wanton, the need in me is true

I need so much the safety – it needs to come from you.

All of us are human as we share our need to be,

yet there are those who take not give

~ which one of those are thee?

~ Penny L Howe, 2014

We are human and we do need each other – for good and positive reasons. The human condition is greatly improved when many understand and believe this. Treat those around you with love and kindness.

Have an excellent weekend, my friends, reach out and hug someone. Sending a Group Hug here for all my wonderful friends, both those I know and those I’ve still to meet.

  1. Ahh, the balance between taking and giving, something I do struggle with at times. I love the act of giving, but giving to myself is something I overlook at times. I too love your poetry Penny and hope to see more.

  2. Beautiful words and thoughts, Penny! I believe I’m a giver and a taker, but it all balances out and both are rewarding. Have a wonderful week! β™₯ Hugs back to you, too!

  3. We humans are a funny bunch with needs and wants but the purest form of both of those traits is to want others to help and to be helped. I do enjoy your poems my friend and your company in all forms. xxx

  4. definitely needs to be a little bit of give in take to have & maintain a healthy relationship. Too much one sidedness leaves half unfulfilled or worn out.
