Therapeutic Twos – The essence of why we blog!

Horses

There is something therapeutic about things found in twos. A feeling of togetherness.

And although one can be alone, silent and strong in this singular pose, it is by the addition of other bloggers, one at a time, that there begins a feeling of companionship, a sharing of experiences that bespeaks of camaraderie and fellowship. And so we blog.

We validate who we are even as we interact with (and create) validation for others. Most often this is accomplished one blog, one post, and one blogger at a time, and although (as we know) social media (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, About.me, etc.) creates ‘the feeling’ that we are connecting with many more – it is most often the interaction happening in shared communication that is “one on one” that is the truth and mainstay behind our love of blogging.

We are hopeful that many will come to our blog (and/or our other social platforms) and visit. We are even more hopeful that our artistic creations, messages, information and  services/products will be sought after.

But blogging stays popular, ever increasingly so, because of the ongoing ever reaching (world-wide) relationships we make with each other as blogging companions.

the connection of ‘you and I’ in essence

– the two of things.”

  1. I am well behind…. happy week Penny, it is Tuesday and I am reading this, nevertheless, I wish you a good week Penny !I need to get up to date again….. Hope you had a great weekend!

    • Hello dearest friend. Been busy, huh! I totally understand and empathize, Ute. So much to do, sometimes and so little time, but friends are always nearby, as you know. Take it easy, don’t overdo, and take care of you. (the most important thing here!) Big hugs, xxxx

    • Thank you LuAnn, you are too kind (but I do appreciate it, lol). A good weekend was had by all and now if all of us (you included) can have a good week ahead that will be just grand! 🙂

  2. Wonderful post Penny! I cannot tell you the number of friendships that I have made around the world with fellow bloggers and how happy this makes me! I feel very lucky that I found you, and that we have made this connection of “you and I.” Hugs and love! ^..^

  3. I love that. Makes me think of a song which I can’t remember the name of [the wonders of the internet. You can’t see me searching for the song right now … but now I found it] One is the Loneliest Number.

Each of us decides who we are going to start a conversation with and in so doing, form a relationship – not the “wining, dining, watch the moon shining” relationship, the one you describe. Talking, sharing, knowing. In my ten years of blogging (my decade anniversary was last week) I have virtually met hundreds of people. Whether the majority of them are as their Gravatars show is besides the point. They have let me into theirs lives. Sometimes briefly, sometimes for a great deal of time.

It has been a fantastic ten years and I am so glad I did it and so glad I have met (most of) the people I have. It’s been an education and a complete learning experience.

Hope you and your family have a great weekend Penny.

    • I love that song, Alastair, know it by heart, by one of my favorite groups actually! Congrats. on your ten years. Way to Go!!!! Yes I believe it probably has been quite the education and will continue to be so (for all of us, lol)! We did have a good weekend thank you, hoping yours was ever bit as fine, my friend! 🙂 xo

  4. Yes, you summed up the world of blogging so well. Connections are made but what surprises me is the strength of those connections and the chain reaction that happens after we link with someone. Take Doris and myself, connecting through a photograph and the result is another joint blog site.

  5. Reblogged this on It Is What It Is and commented:
Penny!!! When did you get inside my head?? M’lord … you have described the perfect feeling/reason why I blog! Thx for sharing, thx for putting into
words …. Instant reblog!!! Good weekend to you too!! <>

Thank you for your thoughts!
