A little reflection over the weekend and it dawned on me, that each of us (more or less) are partially responsible for the mess the planet is in right now. We really are. In our free country of the USA we take so much for granted. In fact children are being taught (by adult example) that it’s okay to take … and take … and take! Greed is a popular icon here as well as in many other “civilized?” countries which accomplishes nothing but more greed!
Time for a new mindset. We really don’t need so much “stuff”. It would be great if we spent more time caring for each other and the natural world we all inhabit while it’s still habitable. Healthier and happier people would make for a healthier and happier environment and economy. Not the other way around. People (all life) and their well being need to come first!
And in this country and any other country where you can vote (even if some politicians are making it harder for you) it is still your responsibility to VOTE. If you don’t like what the politicians are doing, then vote them out of office.. Your country, your government. Your responsibility. Don’t play the blame game with pointed fingers and words but do nothing to assist in bringing about change!

must go hand in hand for the needed change to truly happen!”

I try to teach my kids that taking is alright to an extent. Don’t take more than you are offered. Don’t take what you are not offered, and give but not more than you can offer.
I try to teach them that they have to think about others and their surroundings
Which is why you are such a terrific dad! IMO, Alastair! And because you love them so much, too! 🙂 xo
Thank you Penny. Yes I do. I try to give them the love of both parents. And although they don’t want to see their mum, I am trying to tell them not to cut her out of it. They will regret it later in life

Hi Pat, thank you. Was out of town for a few days but I did get to read your article a splash from the past. Too scary and funny! I enjoyed your written words, I’m sure lots more than you enjoyed the actual experience, Wow!
Also wish you, Penny, to have a great week ahead with much affection and love. Of course, personal responsibility is important for our planet’s sustainability.
