Your Bravery is Becoming

Being brave is sometimes amazingly difficult, but nonetheless always becoming! With your bravery there exists the strong potential that you are …

becoming stronger as an individual with individual freedoms.

becoming less fearful when there are new obstacles to overcome.

becoming a better person with higher ideals and greater respect for honest, caring and loving standards of behavior (where you do no harm) as you expand your vision of the world with less personal conflicted thoughts and emotions.

becoming the best you that you can be within the uniqueness of who and how you are and yet also knowing you’re a part of and representative of life on the planet Earth that you share with all other life.

becoming aware and acknowledging that it’s okay and actually an excellent thing to believe in yourself.

“Humanity asking of Life: Share with me just the smallest whisper of hope so my thoughts and emotions will hear you (despite the ever increasing cacophony of change bombarding day and night with greed, hatred, intolerance, prejudice, inhumanity and indifference) and I promise you it shall be as the roar of a lion within my heartsick troubled soul and I shall take solace and share your whispers of hope with all who will listen.

Life whispers: You are all my children and you are loved.”

Why … We Go On.

It’s really about self motivation when it comes right down to the carrying on of things when others all around are retreating, laying blame or quitting.

Tenacity is a good word. It means never giving in or up. It means going that extra mile when it appears all is going against you.

We can hold within our hearts excellent hopes and dreams for our futures (an important thing to do, absolutely) but beyond this, it is a “forged in fire, keep on keeping on”attitude of unrelenting determination that will get the job done.

And even more important is recognizing that with self reliance and self motivation for your own personal goals you become a torch bearer for others. Lifting up their spirits, letting them know all things are still possible, giving them something to believe in, not just you but themselves as well.

It’s called leading by example when you go on while others are feeling too tired, fearful or worried.

Know then that the feeling of helpless hopelessness cannot survive in an atmosphere of loving strength and peaceful perseverance, it just can’t! Which is why … We Go On!

Take care of you,

With much affection,

Bragging Rights! A Beautiful Painting!

Painting by Jeannette Andress copyright © 2014

In my family (if you recall the photo I recently posted) I have two wonderful sisters, each of whom I love and adore. Each are also very talented. Today my sister, Jeannette sent me a picture of her latest painting. She used a photograph taken by her son (an excellent photographer) of his children in a flower garden, as her models.

I’m sure you will agree with me this is one beautiful painting, and I am immensely proud of her. The photo is shown here with great pride and love.

Jeannette, my wonderful and beautiful sister you are exceedingly talented!

All my love to you,

Penny

The Artist

By Karpati Gabor2The Artist Creates

Regardless of age, situation or circumstance, the artistic quality shines through when an artist creates. How glorious to partake of the view from an artistic eye. How wonderful to enjoy the amazing beauty and fulsome imagination an artist presents.

Whether art be produced with pallet, brush and paint, by camera, music notes, the written word, or other creative rendering, an artist produces because he or she must and we the audience view their reflections of life because we equally must.

“To partake of beauty from the artistic soul

is to enhance our own awareness and understanding

of who we are and what we are capable!”

Don’t be Afraid of Living

Female by Penny L Howe, 2013

“Female” by Penny L Howe, 2013

There are many things to be afraid of

I’ve confronted a few in my day,

The Sun may not rise

the moon may not set

or things will not go my way.

.

The boogie man hiding under my bed

gave childhood nights filled with fear,

But what really terrified

during those scary times

was when no parents were near.

.

Don’t be afraid of living

For this is your time here on earth,

make the most of your day

give thanks ‘long the way’

for the blessing that was your birth.

.

For most of us what really scares us

isn’t a truth or a fact,

But our worries and fears

accumulated through years

Of what we don’t have or we lack.

.

Fear can be a mind killer, you know,

But it comes with a choice that is yours

you can stay paralyzed

and never realize

you can move on and open new doors.

.

Life is all about living

And no, there is no guarantee,

But with the will to survive

you still can thrive

That’s life – how it’s meant to be!

.

There isn’t a magic formula

well maybe … maybe just one,

each waking day

give big thanks and say

I BELIEVE that things will go my way!

(and then really believe it)

Rhyme and Reason

“If there truly is a reason we (humans) exist. We define
it through our creative expressions of understanding.”
~ Penny L Howe, 2013

*

I know there’s a reason in life and I know there is also a rhyme. So we think and we feel. Two types of things. Thoughts and feelings.

Thoughts for when we think on things, organizing what we’ve learned into pieces of understanding. Feelings for when we contemplate our thoughts expressing and emoting about them. In humans the two are closely entwined. Hard to have a thought without a corresponding emotion connected to it (although I must say, sometimes it does feel as if one can have a very strong emotion with very little reasoning thought being involved, lol).

Summing things up – the rhythms from our heart (emotions) and the thought processes from our mind create the symphony of our life experiences. How we orchestrate them defines who and how we are.

Therefore, we are all artists – creatively speaking, poetically endowed to convert our reasoning mind into beautiful expressive renderings (any art form) from the soul. So how cool is that?

Infinitely! – at least from the view of my eyes.

Have a great weekend everyone! Feel good about who and how you uniquely are. It’s what others “love” about you! Please share yourself – a joyous thing to do!

Time Out for Art – A blending of styles!

I love the “The Kiss” by  Gustav Klimt. (A very well known piece of art). I also like “Starry Night” by Vincent Van Gogh (another well know piece of art), so I decided to blend, (somewhat) the two styles in my rendering below. And of course there’s a bit of my own style in there too.

(Credit to Wikipedia for prints of each painting)

I call my rendering Love. I was fascinated by the gold coloring and romantic symbolism of Klimt and equally fascinated by the mesmerizing swirls and hues of colors of Van Gogh,  The result below!

drawing by Penny

First I drew the figures and swirls in pencil and then sketched over the drawing with different colors of Ink. Darkening the background between the swirls. The colors are more vivid in the actual sketch and the gold sparkles in the light, which was an interesting effect for me to try!

All in all, it was great fun playing with the colors. I also enjoyed placing the two, slightly surreal lovers in a very affectionate and loving pose!

I hope you enjoyed too!

Today it’s Thursday which means it’s “Time out for Art” over at Zeebra DeSigns & Destinations be sure and check out Lisa’s Lesson for the day. A wonderfully entertaining post, moving and inspirational as well!

Thanks for stopping by, Have an excellent day today!

Time Out for Art ~ Curiosity and little girls

Curious by Penny L Howe, 2013

~

There was a little girl who just had to know,
about every little thing, everywhere she’d go!
Girls need to understand things
the Why, the How, the Who,
little girls are curious – it’s just what we do!
*
Growing up to be mysterious
or so it seems to men.
The truth is we stay curious,
the What, the Where, the When!
*
living life and loving
the things we do the best,
Well, and staying curious
for knowledge is our quest!
My case I therefore rest!
