Molecules of Poetry ~ A Parallel Peripheral

“Sometimes I miss it – the beauty of a moment ~ which then moves on in stealthy fashion.

Analogous vibrating molecules of the poetry of a beautiful passing moment, shifting from here and now to a parallel peripheral to become cosmic music resonating through hyper space perhaps escaping to one of the eleven dimensions of which theoretical physicists speculate.

Meanwhile in this universe, the temporary abode where I reside, vision and senses once again caught up in deluded preoccupation with just plain regular things. Known entities with known outcomes being naught but what they always are …

. . . distractions!

Thus in that moment of sheer wonder, the perfect and spontaneous specialness of a beautiful moment dissipates and this new potential entry into the poetry of my life will not be written or experienced by me, but heard for ever more somewhere out there in the Universal Collective Consciousness. But then it’s all relative, isn’t it. Sigh.” Penny L. Howe, 2016

Power is the most Seductive…

image

… To Those Unfit To Rule!

But before there is power there is greed. Greed manifests the most amazing array of wrong thinking. The biggest of which are various and highly creatively justifications for being greedy, although different terminology replaces the word greed in this vindicating process.

Greed is amazingly like a virus and once getting a firm hold on a person’s psyche, it spreads like wildfire. And it is highly contagious.

So how much of a prosperous society is predicated on greed and how can one control this insidious emotional and mental disease?

If I suggested the cure for greed was simple, I’m pretty sure no one would agree with me. But if the words “personal discipline” were added to the mix, well then many more things become possible.

Sadly like the internet most of us have no self regulation. We emote all the various array of emotions at our disposal, with little regard for whether actions we take as a result of strong emotional wants (not needs) are a good thing or not.

And we confuse the leaders we elect or choose to follow by connotating greed for power with strength of character. But since, as we are probably aware, (if at a subconscious level) the desire for either power or the “good life” is now greed totally run amok, I’m thinking we’re about to pay a huge price for our own individual needs that (for many) have slowly been morphing into a part of the current greed scenerio.

So is there a way to conquer greed? I think not. Certainly not with the current view that more and even more is better, (regardless of the cost to others) and not until humans “as a whole” recognize and positively accept that each of us is a part of “the whole” of a complete living ecosystem.

And not until we all understand true abundance can only happen when the “whole” meaning “all of us” work together “as a team” for the good of everyone, not for just our own individual selves or a chosen few.

OMG, The Gorilla in the Room

image

I’m an American. Just one person, but I feel as if the “gorilla in the room” has not only grown to gigantic proportions but has taken over intelligent rational minds, many  of whom I never would have expected to belittle themselves by spreading fear and hate (or passively going along) with the use of vularity and bullying tactics.

I am proud to be an American, but am very worried about the direction we Americans are allowing ourselves to be herded towards.

Whether it is apathy, indifference or some other thing it is horrifying and more than a little scary.

I, for one, am hopeful more Americans wake up from this sick unreal “reality show” that so many are currently living with their guidance (dependence) for how to behave directly related to the deceptive and artificial media and social media world.

Just so scary … I mean really!!!!

Tempus Fugit – The Irreplaceability of Escaping Time!

escapingtime

When Roman poet Virgil wrote of ‘Tempus Fugit’, his words at first glance seem to simply imply that of time hurrying past. But I’m convinced that he was actually thinking of the loss of time due to a preoccupation with things of no true value that in turn steal precious time away from us.

And so it is today. We are losing so much of our precious time as we seem to be completely caught up in the artificiality of today’s social norm.

It is sad. Everything has commercial value in our commercial world … and time, well time seems to have no value at all because we are so indiscriminately wasting it away.

*

We’re wasting away our immutable time

consumption soon beyond our repair,

our todays and tomorrows will then all be gone

And escaping time … alas … will not care.

The Freedom of Your Thoughts … Illusionary?

Nature's Paintbox:

Does the mind wander? Be cautious, there is flotsam – impregnable, polluting, and ever enticing – floating nearby, sometimes successfully pulling one inexorably toward the shores of inevitability.

Is there true freedom in thought? I wonder?

Grains of truth and hope do sparkle along the shoreline and can be found clinging in shallow tidal pools of awareness, even as the currents of existence ebb and flow.

Away from these imponderable shores, one can be found being concerned with futures. Wandering thoughts venture into the Mountains and Valleys of Uncertainties where contraindications often lead to the Cliffs of Lemmings where – located at the extreme edge – is the precipice of one’s known reality. If not careful our thoughts can morph into a herd-like mentality.

I know we do not desire for conscious thoughts to be distorted from the natural order of things, nor do we willfully choose to be persuaded, influenced or lulled into a condition contrary to who we are.

Yet there are outward influences that often subjugate our understanding and desire for a thing. Often insidious and unequivocally mind altering.

So I shall ask again. Are our thoughts really our own?  And if not – I promise that I – for one – will escape the shores of my own Inevitability!

Achieving a Winning Edge in a Cruel World.

image

“When your heart is open you can see love blooms everywhere – knowing the vibration of love is nature’s true essence for life and renewal.”~ Plh

The title of this article does sound rather stark, doesn’t it? Sadly, lots of truth going on “out there” to support this. Bullies who bully, Saddists with sick hurtful and just plain wrong agendas and Power Brokers who utilize our fears to achieve their goals, definitely not for the benefit of humanity or any other life form,  but rather to supply the demand of the greedy.

So what to do BE FEARLESS!

1. Remember the word “WE” needs to be inclusive for all of us to profit. Not exclusive depending on race, location, background, education, gender, age or any other thing that far too often can separate us (as humans) from each other.

2. Know that most of us are caring, loving, generous and extremely capable of awesome ingenuity, intellect, integrity, creativeness and productivity.

3. Hang out with the #2 group. Which is the majority of us (whew!). And most especially,  Don’t allow fear to control your actions. Be fearless, for yourself and others. Be true to fairness, loving values, and gratitude.

And as for the rest? Believe in you and your innate ability to not only make a positive difference, but to be happy and successful with all that you seek to do and be, regardless of naysayers!

As one of you, I wish you the very best in your endeavors. You are not alone!

Thank you. Have an awesome weekend.

With much love to you,

The Face of Facade – Who are you?

image

“But I do it so well!” She said to no one but herself. More precisely she was speaking to her image in the mirror, who she could always count on agreeing.

“I do!” She reiterated. “No one can tell how I truly feel. My demeanor is faultless. I appear to all as a confident positive person.”

The image in the mirror had nothing to add. It never did … except she was becoming increasingly aware of frown lines appearing in each corner of her image’s mouth, stretching her skin in an unflattering grimace.

She smiled a radiant smile. The one she had practiced for a long time. It had become an art form, she was so skillful at it. Frown lines disappeared.

Yes, she thought. This will do. No one will know how unhappy she really is. No one, that is … except herself.

Happiness is found within ourselves. To pretend otherwise is to greatly lessen who we are, preventing us from being all that we might be.” ~Plh

May you have wonderful days to come and remember … take care of you.

When Elephants Cry

image

Did you know that elephants cry?

They do. And even though many scientists attempt to scientifically explain away these reoccurring elephant tears towards a non emotional based rationale, most people do recognize the truth.

Elephants are intelligent, caring and loving mammals. Period!

Which leads me to wonder if they know of their own plight towards extinction. Don’t  be too quick to discount the wisdom in nature.

image

I believe, at some level of awareness they do know, as do other damaged and endangered species.

My hope and dream is that we can do more to stop and overcome the cruelty and killing of not only our own kind but all life on this, our awesome planet.

“When the heart is filled with love embracing life, there is still room for caring and sharing … always.” ~ Plh

Perception – Where’s The Truth in Our Lives?

image

We live off our perceptions. Advertisers have known & cultivated this for quite a while, politicians have known this, no doubt forever.

If you live in the USA you may recall (a few decades ago) a popular commercial where a sweet but gutsy little old lady belts out “where’s the beef?” suggesting there was very little beef in her hamburger. Using this as an analogy the point I’m making is … “Where’s the TRUTH?” … exchanging the word beef for truth as it relates to us and our lives today.

The truth is we don’t know “the truth”. Even these written words you’re reading here are only my interpretation of things.

But it does seem we are acting out our lives through an ever thickening veil of perception, some of which are …

Events going on in our world
  Whats right & wrong
  Whats good and bad
  What we eat
What is or isn’t in the food we eat
What is or isn’t in the air we breath
    and the water we drink
  What we want in life
  Where we’re headed
And so on … and so on …

So many things have become scaled up falsehoods of reality (with us increasingly bypassing our own intelligent comprehension). More and more we base our decisions on the made-up reality of commercializations and the “in your face” mentality of media. Any and all forms of media. Not just social interactive media found on our Internet but television, radio and movies too.

Regardless of where you look or listen, it isn’t completely accurate. Its interpretive, depending on the M.O. of who’s presenting the information and while this is scary in and of itself, the even scarier thing is we’ve become conditioned to accept this virtual reality of our lives and what’s happening around us … even while inside ourselves, there’s a gut instinct, a wrenching sensation sending us this urgent message that … something just isn’t right.

Because it isn’t!

I believe in my heart we (the people) are headed for a showdown. A personal one within ourselves, where we simply decide enough is enough. Starting by getting rid of the excess in our lives and coming up with a simpler, cleaner and clearer way of doing things.

As for me. I’m already there. How about you?

Thank you,
~ Penny ♡

What do you really see in the world today and does it matter?

elephant_polygon_illustration-t2

In your daily activities, do you see the image of the thing or the thing itself! Life is life. People are people. Things are just things! Getting our priorities in order will hopefully be what puts humanity back on course.

Some saw it coming, the age of large industrial companies and now technological corporations as well, multinational megalithic companies employing 9 to 5 (or longer hrs) workers (hence an outdated school system that hasn’t kept pace but keeps churning out children to be workers for others), removal from home environments in country settings and removal, for many people, from nature itself. The abuse going on with each other, with wild animals, with our lands and seas, wouldn’t be happening if we (all of us) were paying attention and not so intensely focused on those created images manufactured to sell the next new latest, greatest thing! Things. Lots and lots of things.

We have to re-energize our souls. Stop the hate, which achieves nothing but more hate. Stop the killing. It’s wrong :period: Begin again by paying attention to what matters. Family, friends, neighborhoods, communities and yes the manner in which we are governed. The purpose of having governments is to protect the rights of it’s citizens. This cannot happen when governments and politicians around the world are controlled by big business interests, which they are. As are the wars and the subsequent poverty in emerging countries by willful disregard for the needs of the locals when big business moves in.

There is so much raw potential in the human spirit to make a positive difference in our world today. Truly awesome, but it cannot continue on it’s current path.
