Accomplishing the Impossible!

image

Walt Disney once said “I’m doing the difficult today, tomorrow I’ll do the impossible.”

Was he crazy? No one can do the impossible. Or can they? Actually there’s  a bit of a dichotomy here. What he actually meant was “what appears to be impossible becomes possible – once accomplished.”

We all know of stories about ordinary people like you and I, who figure out how to do seemingly impossible things and become successful in the process.

I’m happy to share their secret here:
They believe in themselves.
They believe in their goal.
They never give up.

Okay, what impossible thing are you going to accomplish tomorrow?

You know the secret now, so there’s no one to stop you…

…Except yourself. Your life, your choice. Make it be what you want it to be … start with the impossible. You can do it!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great tomorrow and remember to always take care of you. If you’re not okay, you can’t be there for others.

A Writer Should Never Use – these two words! I Can’t!

I Can’t!

How many of us have said or heard the words “I Can’t”. All of us, and everyone is my guess.

I recommend the following: Follow you heart, don’t forget your dreams. Discipline is important. Understanding that effort  + action will achieve results. Also research is important, spend a little time researching the “what & how” to do something . Put passion into this as well. Just don’t use the words “I Can’t”, because it isn’t true, you know … You Can!

Most mighty things – begin very small. Many great achievements were made with very slow and hesitant steps towards a goal. Success happened because those who achieved never stopped. Perhaps they’d regroup or pause and start over, but they never stopped.

I  CAN

Don’t speak to me about can nots

Don’t try to stomp on my dreams,

I am who I am, and I feel what I feel,

And my words are all there in my Reams.

*

The Reams of my paper seem endless

My words upon words upon words,

But I’m true to myself and I’ll say what I say,

And do all that “I Can” to be heard.

*

I’ll never give up or stop trying,

Holding fast so that nothing can ban.

My dream is to write and so I shall write,

I will write for I know that – “I Can”!

Hold fast to your dreams, never let go, never stop.

Thank you for stopping by,

The 6th Day of Happiness – Finding the Real YOU!

dreamstime_xs_34881783

Are you the Real You?

In today’s modern world, from the time we’re born, we’re inundated with information about who we should be, how we should be and so on. With this never ending and ongoing input we can get lost in a miasma-like state of existence, permeating every thought we think and action we take.

Often, we become who we think we should become based on what others tell us. But who are we really?

How many changes have you made to accommodate someone other than yourself? How many things that you’ve wanted to do have you not done because of fear of the unknown.

When will you let the real you emerge and come out from behind the exterior shell you’ve built in the mistaken belief that you’re safe, when in reality you are letting LIFE – your life – pass you by.

So ask yourself this. Who am “I” inside of me, really? How do “I” feel about where my life is heading? What can “I” do about it?

On this sixth day of happiness I’d like to give you a huge “heads up”. I know the real you. And you’re amazing! And awesome! Uniquely individual and loaded with all sorts of original thoughts and ideas. Don’t let exterior influences take over. Be your own person. You are far more worthy than you realize. And if I know it, you can too.

So go ahead! Find the real you! I’m rooting for you. Begin by make things happen for yourself. Just take that first step … The one great – big – positive – harmonious thought of Believing – In YOU!

I DO!

Flash Fiction (100 words)

The Door to Opportunity

“Sam, what are you doing?”

“Huh,” he replied, busily opening and closing each door in sight.

“I asked what you’re doing,” Irving said.

“Oh, I’m looking for opportunity,” Sam answered while continuing to open and close each door.

“I think, the metaphor means having to actually go through the door when opportunity knocks. Opening and closing doors isn’t going to achieve anything!”

“What’s a metaphor?” Sam paused to stare at Irving.

“Just a figure of speech, referring to something else to make a point – that you’re not getting.”

“Okay,” Sam replied and began to open and close doors again.

There’s a lot more effort required when opportunity knocks. It’s just giving you a heads-up. You’re still the one who needs to pursue the advantage being presented!

Failure – What it is and isn’t!

What is failure? Apart from a word none of us like hearing or thinking about!

Failure: The condition or fact of not achieving the desired end or ends!

Well okay, that doesn’t sound so bad. But it’s how we feel about it that can create havoc with our lives. Not the act of failing in and of itself.

I failed in my first business (financially a huge mess). When I mentioned this to another entrepreneur, at the time, he said to me, “you didn’t fail“!

And I said, “Well if you don’t count closing your business doors, owing a ton of money to a lot of people a failure … what do you call it?”

And he said, “Taking risks while you learn how to do something the right way.” Just so you know, at the time I strongly disagreed with him. I was the one that had to figure out what to do next. I was a single parent with no income, ruined credit and lots of bills to pay.

But guess what? he was right. When I creatively (and hurriedly) came up with a short term financial solution (got a job), spoke with each of the creditors and made the best arrangements I could at the time (and asked for short term help from my family – that was the hardest thing of all!) I got by.

Within a year. I had put together another proposal, went after more financing and was in business again.

So I advise you to look carefully at the actual meaning of the word failure. Because it isn’t the end of everything. That only happens when you give up. As long as you keep trying, you haven’t failed at all, you’re still in your learning curve!

“Consider failure as a temporary setback,
the price you pay to learn until you get it right!”

Attitude is not a Platitude … It’s a choice!

a mirror to your dreams

Attitude!

That word is a big one for me.

Each of us has our own personal belief system and values that we find important, but I think in life it still comes down to what we do with what life hands us.

It really is all about attitude, how we respond to life, others and our personal challenges. I learned very early on the extreme importance of attitude. I believe the following words are true. Even if the author of these words is unknown.

“I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me
and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with us all …”

Have a positive attitude today, you might surprise yourself how well it goes,

Motivate yourself – Your own guide

what-to-do-book-manual-advice-instructions-by-iqoncept.jpgLast fall I wrote a piece about how to be inspired and motivated. The words are no less true today.

And I’ve yet to find someone better at inspiring ourselves than – ourselves. We are, our own best motivators. The one who decides how we’re going to feel about the new day ahead. The one that lays down at night reliving the happenings of the day. That’s You!

And while you may not be the catalyst for positive change, I guarantee, you are the one that decides what “lights your fire” or what “puts it out”.

There is a key here, something to think on. No one just leaps out of bed, happy with the world everyday, thinking all things are wonderful and then goes out and wins all the time. Well nobody I know anyway.

But many understand what is needed and set about searching for that which willideas, dreamstime.com influence and motivate them towards a positive mindset. That could be you!

Make life a mission for finding those things (catalysts) that will motivate you!

Each person’s quest in life becomes either finding the motivation to make things happen or coming up with excuses for why things won’t.

The more you wake up looking for potentials, the easier it is to find possibilities. The more you move forward, the more you believe in yourself. And yes even through your failures, you know what to get right the next time you try.

It has always been about you – you know! You are your greatest motivator!

The Obstacles in Life … remove them.

Can you “see” your future?

When we decide on a path to follow in life, there are things that will trip us up (obstacles) along the way.

Did you know we accidently create the biggest obstacles we need to overcome. They are “negative preconceived expectations”! Nice jolly big words I think!

So more simply put …

Frequently, we have already decided what we cannot do, what is not possible. And we do this many times every day about a multitude of things.

Then we repeat these same things (being thought of inside our head) by saying them out loud.

We have just finished embedding into our mind the beginnings of why we can’t, won’t, shouldn’t and so on … we’ve started the construction of the hardest obstacle to overcome – our own self doubts, fears and concerns!.

Did you know that your brain pays close attention (that’s part of it’s job) to your thoughts – your voiced opinions.

And it obeys these messages by relaying them out to the rest of the brain and body .

So, for example, if the message is – “My body is very stiff and sore, I am going to be stiff and sore all day” – The first part is true because your feeling it, the second part is what you’ve decided ahead of time, before you really know if this is true and you’re passing this along to the rest of your brain and it will comply.

The body does what it’s told.

The brain believes what you decide. This is a truth and a fact. So if you say “I can’t feel better” – You won’t. If you say “I am too old” – then you are. If you decided you have too much to learn, then it will be harder to learn.

The second you dwell on what you can’t do – your mind helps make sure you can’t.

It is that simple. When you focus on what you can do (all the possibilities) your mind thinks on how to make it happen. As always – up to you!

In Life’s equation try your best to remove “negative expectations” from the middle. The goal becomes much easier to reach.

Dreams + (all the reasons I think/know I can)  = Goals achieved.

Thanks for your visit, I wish you luck with your dreams and goals

You can overcome obstacles…you know…

~

… Obviously!

I think the biggest obstacle to overcome in life is our own perceived limitations.

This video is about an amazing man who clearly understands this and is definitely passing the message on.

Have an awesome day, be thankful for all that you have, and remember – we are beautiful aren’t we (all of us)!
