Your Singular Beauty!

By greyerbaby2

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

When you behold a reflection of yourself, do you see the beauty of your soul, your singular uniqueness, your value? Or are you blind to your own beauty.

Inner beauty shines outwardly when you are thankful for who you are. When you consider yourself special and having worth. And make no mistake here, others see this radiating beauty most clearly!

Absolutely true!

“May your beauty shine,

not only for others but for yourself as well!

In Search of the Perfect Soul!

file0001407210244

He was the leader of a large country of substantial wealth. He had great power but was a good ruler, yet he was not satisfied. He went forth to his advisers (the wisest men he knew) and asked of them “How can I know if I have a perfect soul?”

His counselors conferred among themselves and being wise indeed said, “Oh omnipotent ruler, yours is the perfect soul! There can be none finer.”

But the ruler wasn’t satisfied with this answer, for he did not know himself if this was true. How did one measure the worth and value of a perfect soul?

He called forth all of his couriers and instructed them to scour the land and find perfect souls so he could compare himself to them.

While he waited for their return he thought about his personal assets as it related to being a human being. Was he worthy? A perfect soul had become increasingly important to him for some reason that he could not fathom.

Some time later his couriers returned, each with new ideas for what the perfect soul would contain but none had returned with a “perfect soul”. Still, one and all proclaimed that their ruler indeed was in possession of the perfect soul. And yet he pondered and worried about whether it was true.

So he sent forth a new quest in his land. He asked the question “What is the perfect soul”? He proclaimed that the one who best answered his question would have all the riches he or she could desire.

Crowds of his people flocked to the courts. Each person given the unique opportunity for a private audience with their king to answer the question.

As the days and months past the king became more convinced that there was no such thing as the perfect soul. Many very wise and some equally foolish people past his door to share their understanding of a perfect soul. The goal for most of them, of course, promised riches for the right answer.

One day the king, becoming overly weary of the same responses, dismissed everyone. He told all those in the great halls to depart, he wanted peace, relief from the noisy cacophony of his people. As the assembly hall emptied he noticed a slightly golden glow emanating from a simply clothed figure sitting unnoticed in the corner of the great hall.

The king now alone in the room, except for this one unassuming figure, approached her. At first glance she appeared quite nondescript but her calm demeanor and manner belied her rather ordinary physical appearance. As he came to stand next to her, she lifted her eyes and gazed deeply into his. She smiled a soothing smile.

“My king”. She said bowing her head and then returning her gentle gaze upon him.

He didn’t know what made him ask this person, this least of all individuals, his important question but he did.

“How can I know if I have the perfect soul?” He asked.

She thought for a moment and then responded, the glow of her own soul shining clear and strong as she replied.

“Your soul seeks to be full and complete, even on the most difficult of your lifetime days of activities. Your soul strives mightily on your behalf. You need search no further. Be at peace, your soul will answer your question in it’s own time. You are a good man and a great king, live your life now, quest no more for the answer. It will find it’s way to you as is the way of all souls.”

“How can you be sure?” He asked this soft spoken woman.

The pure radiance of light that now shone from her was near onto blinding the kings eyes, yet he stood firm and waited for her answer … and it came, simply and with no fanfare, just a surety and certainty that wiped away his doubts, worries and fears.

Her answer – I believe!

What Do You Believe?

~

I BELIEVE

I embraced the glow

Listening to intangible truths

And I but a mortal can only wonder

At that which I cannot see

But know and feel to be.

     ~ Penny L. Howe, 2012

I believe that deep inside lies a flame. A light if you will. I call it faith. I don’t mean religion. Religion is how many chose to embrace, celebrate and nurture their faith. But faith comes in all formats and I believe in each one of us exists this glowing essence. Faith is the language of the soul. The glow from within.

The flame glows mightily for some and almost imperceptibly for others. But it’s always there, none the less.

Some spend their lives disbelieving what their soul whispers to them in the night. Some spend their lives questioning that which they cannot understand even though they feel it inside. Some spend their lives on a quest embracing that which they cannot understand but chose to accept. And some radiate the glow from within for all to see.

Faith is the language of our soul and whatever you decide to accept and believe, it will always be there inside, waiting to come forth. I believe faith is the flame that shines within your soul that brightens your hopes, your dreams, your possibilities, your life. This I believe.

In Your Night of Days … know there will be light!

The children of the densely treed forest dozed, curled about one another among twisted roots, snuggled near the base of a tree. They could hear her words of wisdom, words whispered through the night among drowsy thoughts in their sleepy minds. Mother Nature knew her children and smiled down on them, nurturing as they slumbered.

“…and there will be those days of sunlight … and there will be those nights of darkness. Do not fear the darkness of the night, for in the morning of the day, the sun will shine again.

But when Darkness steals into your life to take from you, your precious heart of love … then know (and she reached out and embraced them all – every single one) … I will be there to shine for you as the sun shines on a blue-skied day. I will not let the Darkness carry you away.

Rest easy on those night of days. Know all will be well, little ones … all will be well.”

And the children of the forest slept, safe in her loving arms for another night of rest!

“Believe that in your night of days
When Darkness enters in,
There is hope do not despair
The light will shine again.”

Achieving Success … a simple matter of updating Content!

For all you writers with dreams out there – frustrated by where you currently are, a few thoughts on the matter!

reading, by Penny L Howe, 2013

Did you know there’s a whole future generation of readers who will be waiting to read your written words in the near future. It’s up to you to not give up, keep writing and stay the course, doing all you can do to get your book published:

Life has interesting twists and turns to it, doesn’t it? Just about the time you think you have it figured out, it changes on you. But don’t let that stop you!

The nice thing about dreams, however, is that they’re your dreams and you can alter and adjust accordingly, as needs be, to keep them alive and hopeful in your future of days!

A few potholes in the road, I few detours will happen but a dream is a mighty thing, keep believing and dreaming … all will be achieved!

“To achieve success,
Sometimes the dreams of yesterday
need to be updated too!”

Failure – What it is and isn’t!

What is failure? Apart from a word none of us like hearing or thinking about!

Failure: The condition or fact of not achieving the desired end or ends!

Well okay, that doesn’t sound so bad. But it’s how we feel about it that can create havoc with our lives. Not the act of failing in and of itself.

I failed in my first business (financially a huge mess). When I mentioned this to another entrepreneur, at the time, he said to me, “you didn’t fail“!

And I said, “Well if you don’t count closing your business doors, owing a ton of money to a lot of people a failure … what do you call it?”

And he said, “Taking risks while you learn how to do something the right way.” Just so you know, at the time I strongly disagreed with him. I was the one that had to figure out what to do next. I was a single parent with no income, ruined credit and lots of bills to pay.

But guess what? he was right. When I creatively (and hurriedly) came up with a short term financial solution (got a job), spoke with each of the creditors and made the best arrangements I could at the time (and asked for short term help from my family – that was the hardest thing of all!) I got by.

Within a year. I had put together another proposal, went after more financing and was in business again.

So I advise you to look carefully at the actual meaning of the word failure. Because it isn’t the end of everything. That only happens when you give up. As long as you keep trying, you haven’t failed at all, you’re still in your learning curve!

“Consider failure as a temporary setback,
the price you pay to learn until you get it right!”

DID YOU NOTICE … (todays “kick in the rear” post)!

What did you notice when you first woke up this morning?

… As you prepared yourself for the day’s activities?

… When you had your first beverage of the day?

… As the day progressed?

…When evening came?

… As you prepared for bed?

… What did you notice?

file3571312649516

Did you notice that the sun came up? Did you notice that other people depend on you, directly or indirectly? Even the store clerk where you shop, your smile and a few pleasant words can make the difference in his or her busy day?

Did you notice things beyond the state of your own condition and existence …

…because if you didn’t notice these things … then you’re missing out on so much that life has to offer you. That life does offer you … each and every day you’re alive!

If you really want to be liked and be loved more … if you feel that this isn’t happening (if you spend all your time noticing that you’re being treated unfairly or that you aren’t worthy or anything else where your thoughts are only on yourself), then you are most definitely not noticing the right things.

“There is a wonderful law of nature
that the three things we crave most in life

happiness, freedom, and peace of mind,
*
are always attained
by giving them to someone else.”

Do You Think well of Yourself?

by hongchan001_info.jpg~

I’m guessing that if I had to pick the person we most often doubt  or think poorly of, it is ourselves.Today is a wonderful day to begin believing in yourself. Starting Now! Here are a few quotes to lead the way.

“It’s not who you are that holds you back, it’s who you think you’re not!”  Anonymous

“If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.”
Bruce Lee, martial arts master

One of the things I learned the hard way was that it doesn’t pay to get discouraged. Keeping busy and making optimism a way of life can restore your faith in yourself.
Lucille Ball

The most important person in your life each day that will make a positive difference in how you proceed will always be you. Let today be that day, Be happy, be positive, make it so,

Have an excellent weekend,

Penny
