Feed me … Your essence! (the blogging experience)

DSC06274

Feed me so I can grow. Feed me so I can know.
Feed my soul, feed my heart, my creative muse … So I can sow.

That which I reap become the seeds of change.
Feed me with the essence of your being … your personal life experiences.
My cravings for knowing are insatiable.
I need you and I want to believe you need me too.

????????????????????????????????????????

Ultimately we humans are the sum total not only of our life achievements but also our exchanges, our sharing, our support, love, respect and understanding of those around us. Humans, animals and yes even plant life and the forces of nature. All part of a full life experience.

“From a quantum perspective we move beyond surviving to thriving when we embrace life and one another. Our very diversity of expression and background becomes fodder – the raw material – from which we learn, grow and prosper.” Penny L Howe, 2014

So feed me.
Feed me now and I … I will feed you in turn.

Happy 450th Birthday William Shakespeare!

The “Willy” most of us don’t know. Today he’d be a prolific world class blogger for certain.

William Shakespeare

Everyone knows of him, the famous playwright who wrote timeless words.

But the real man behind the words – a different story. Looking at historical documents dated no later than 1635 (The Tudor English kept everything documented) and written comments of people who knew him, he was a “gentle” man who loved life and people. He was warm, friendly, and outgoing. He was also practical and highly intelligent!

He left his town, Stratford, for the city of London. He left to become an actor.

He came to London during a time of great change in the world. Books were now available to the middle class (this was exciting and relatively new). In addition to books, Shakespeare’s London offered fresh and unique information and inspiration – people of many cultures from other lands – arriving daily.

It is easy to imagine that Shakespeare watched and learned from them all, crafting his own style of writing. A drastic change in how authors of that time period were influenced! Huge!

Much of his audience were gentlemen apprentices (who had also come to the city to earn their fortune) or (this was a surprise to me) the women of London.

The Elizabethan women had far more freedom and they took advantage of it. They were intelligent, curious, and playful – like their Queen.

Shakespeare knew this. He knew them. Again, one can imagine him being on stage viewing the varying emotions of those in the audience, especially the women. In one of his surviving epilogue he states …“If they smile and say ‘twill do” he knew the play would be a success.

These were the audience he knew and could relate to – and his words? The particular words he wrote … they were crafted for his fellow actors. He knew and felt what was needed (as an actor himself) to get the emotions out to the audience.

He used no rule books for the proper way to write. His education had been gathered from the many peoples and cultures around him during a time of great change! The Willy…you never knew!

Think about the many similarities happening today in the blogging world. A climate of change with merging cultures reaching out to one another sharing experiences and information. Shakespeare would have fit right in.

The Written Word – Yours?

So think on this the next time you post your thoughts, a photograph, a video, fiction writing or other. Who knows what influence you may be giving to future generations? Something to think on!

Thanks for stopping by, I hope your day is filled with discovery.

Seeking Bloggers of the World!

© Rolffimages | Dreamstime.com

It’s time.

It’s time for magic.

It’s time to focus on beauty; beauty as it relates to harmony and caring.

It’s long past it’s due and we know it. We, the bloggers of the world. We’ve become seekers and sharers, haven’t we?

We want to move and be moved. We want to live, we want to connect with others who feel the way we do. We want to share our stories, our interpretations of beauty, of life, of caring. We want to read each other’s words, we want to express and feel the change, the magic that is happening around the world, while we reach out, ever seeking.

This then is us. The Bloggers of the World, for the first time ever – A Worldwide Community of like-minded people. And just as it should be, there are no restrictions, only freedom of thought, expression and creativity! “We”- the seekers and “We” -the sharers. It is time for magic, our magic. Please feel free to take this graphic representation of “We are One” that I crafted. Just copy, save and use (if you’d like) on your blog! It’s yours!

Also, some time ago I did a post about feeling a sense of belonging in the bloggers world. I stylized a drawing of mine to create the feeling of ‘the blogging experience’.

Today, once again I’d like to thank each of you who enrich my life and others, with a gift of “The Singing TroubadourA travelling artisan who roamed his known world creating, singing songs and sharing news as he drifted from village to village – Much like the blogger of today who travels through the internet sharing thoughts and artistic endeavors through the creativity of his and her blogs. If you choose, please feel free to copy and take the I-BLOG/I-BELONG Icon with you.

~

Have an excellent weekend ahead my dear blogging friends. You are each so special to me. With limited time right now, I have so missed visiting you of late, but know you are in my heart and I think of you frequently.

Thank you,

~ Penny

Words that are spoken – meanings that are heard!

(originally posted on March 27th – a few things to remind ourselves!)

Good Morning, If you live in the Northwestern Coast of America. Good Afternoon/Evening if you live further away from me – And for some of you (as I write these words) it’s tomorrow. How’s the future where you are – lol?

word meaningsThe topic today is WORD. I just used a handful of words to say hello to everyone who may be reading this post. Words convey much. They can be fun, they can be provocative, and they can be rich with meaning. And they can be misunderstood.

  1. word: A sound or a combination of sounds (spoken), or its representation in writing or printing that symbolizes and communicates a meaning.
  2. word meaning: The way in which a word or expression or situation can be interpreted.

It’s – number 2. word meaning – that can be the most troublesome for us all. Add to that different languages (and how they may be interpreted) and communicating becomes exceedingly interesting. When we express ourselves with the written word it is very easy for something to be misinterpreted. When we write creatively (as sharingin fiction, or poetry)  the reader is free to feel (through the words) what they want to feel and interpret the piece according.

But too often when we write something nonfiction (in the blogging world) it is easy to assume that the reader  “understands” the intent, but there is always the possibility for an unintended misinterpretation.

In summation I’d like to say that when I attempt to communicate or convey a message to others, I do so with the sole intent of passing on (hopefully) information that may be of some positive value to others. While I do have and share opinions also, they are my own.

Each of us has our own opinions and how great is that? The world is a richer place because of this. The world is also a richer place because of each of you. And even if we don’t always “get” each other or disagree, that’s okay too, it’s part of the learning experience of life isn’t it?

Regardless of where you live in this global community of which we are all a part I wish for you a happy day and better tomorrow.

The Artist

By Karpati Gabor2The Artist Creates

Regardless of age, situation or circumstance, the artistic quality shines through when an artist creates. How glorious to partake of the view from an artistic eye. How wonderful to enjoy the amazing beauty and fulsome imagination an artist presents.

Whether art be produced with pallet, brush and paint, by camera, music notes, the written word, or other creative rendering, an artist produces because he or she must and we the audience view their reflections of life because we equally must.

“To partake of beauty from the artistic soul

is to enhance our own awareness and understanding

of who we are and what we are capable!”

Penny L Howe, 2014

All that we need – each other!

By Karpati Gabor

There are days

when all that we need is a gentle touch.

… a soothing hug.

… a welcoming smile.

… an understanding look.

… a shared moment in time.

… So we don’t feel so empty,

… so frightened by both the known and the unknown,

… so angry by the unfairness of life,

… so bewildered by changes,

and so infinitely alone –

There are days when all that we need is each other!

On the 10th Day of Happiness – The Riches You Possess!

dreamstime_xs_30405665

*

Once upon a special time, there passed a great decree.
There would be ten days of love for thee and thou and me.

On the first day of happiness, warmth and love afar.
On the second day of happiness, joy and blessing reign
On the third day of happiness, sharing peace throughout the lands.
On the fourth day of happiness, the ‘starlight’ memories came.
On the fifth day of happiness, success for all this year.
On the sixth day of happiness, discovering You are dear.
On the seventh day of happiness, cherishing each and every thing.
On the eighth day of happiness, seeing what friendship brings.
On the ninth day of happiness, discovering it in your heart.
On the tenth day of happiness, realizing this is just a start.

Ten days to get things going, to be happy deep inside,
let go your fears and open up – your heart both far and wide.

While gold may bring you some things, the richest thing you’ll own
Is your state of happiness and loving seeds you’ve sown.

*

May each day begin and end with a happy thought. It is after all your choice to make it so!

~ All my love,
Penny

On the 8th Day of Happiness – A Thousand Words for Stranger!

dreamstime_xs_5244063

*

“There are many words for stranger on this, our planet Earth.
Many different names to call those we have not as yet met.
Let one of those words be … FRIEND!” ~ Penny L Howe

*

On this eighth day of happiness let us fully embrace and recall the equal quality of life that all humans, everywhere, have the God given right to expect.

We assist ourselves and others by remembering each of us are strangers at one time or another – the only change that need occur in those times is reaching out with a strong and loving hand of friendship.

I hope everyone has been having a wonderful weekend in our bright and shiny New Year of hidden potentials and opportunities! Let’s make them happen, for ourselves and each other!

The Fifth Day of Happiness – A New Year …

dreamstime_xs_9806429

… And A New Beginning – for YOU!

If you review your past year by continuing to focus on the difficulties encountered, you will carry these problems and negative thoughts and feelings with you into the New Year.

January 1st, 2014 is the beginning of a New Year. Make it a new beginning for yourself as well. Let go grudges and blame, they can only harm you further. They will be of no value to you in the coming year – so cast them off. Remember you are the only one who creates the life you want. You’re the one that makes it happen.

dreamstime_xs_35947746

Begin with deliberate intent. Have a strong focus on what you want to happen in 2014. You can start right now. Generate feelings of harmony and happiness as you release the magic that is built deep within you – just waiting to be set free. It’s past time to believe in yourself. Know that you can make it happen! Yes you can!

The Happiest of New Years to everyone!

~ Penny
