A Hug for the Soul …

… is needed today, more than ever. So many worries. So many fears. Be brave, be strong, continue to care, give and love.

The feeling of goodness, of caring and sharing is growing stronger within many of us. We are the majority on this our beautiful planet Earth. We are making positive changes, albeit slower than we would wish.

Take care of you and yours in difficult days ahead. I continue to believe in you. Every single one. You, each of you, are so special and needed today for your talent, wisdom and especially your caring ways.

“Great hope in one’s heart is a hug for the soul” ~Plh

Never give in, never give up. Believe. You can do this.

With much affection, I wish you well,

The Little Child Inside Of Me

imag1318-1-1

The little child inside me believes in fairies and dragons

and all manner of wondrous things that fly through the sky.

The little child inside me believes I am as brave as a warrior

and can stand up to the mightiest beast and win.

USED

The little child inside me believes that all my tomorrows

will be filled with goodness and happiness.

The little child inside me smiles most frequently

And loves most deeply!

The Lens we view from

The little child inside me believes that all the people she meets

will be enchanted with love in their hearts.

The little child inside me believes rainbows are the true colors of our being –

radiant with all shades for all people and living things.

The little child inside me believes in magic.

strengthofwoman

The grown-up me occasionally thinks about magic, fairies and dragons

but forgets how real they can be, consigning them to an imaginary place.

The grown-up me wants to keep believing and being brave,

but has found life sometimes so scary she forgets how to be brave.

seriousme

The grown-up me worries about tomorrow

and forgets to remember it can be filled with happiness.

The grown-up me has met many people

and sometimes forgets to remind herself that there is love in their hearts too.

IMAG3488-1-1

The grown-up me still sees rainbows and stars shining in the skies above, but lately sometimes doesn’t see that all the colors are still beautiful and all the stars still shine as brightly as ever.

The little child inside of me reminds the grown-up me of what she believes in her heart.

The grown-up me hopes she will not forget and will continue to believe

in the little child inside me.

The Amazing “Presence” of Being (you)!

Believeinyou

*

Do you believe in yourself. I mean … really?

I think you’re pretty familiar with your values, hopes and dreams … and know (mostly) what those are. But what about your strengths? The things you do on a regular basis to shore up weak areas within yourself.

Do you feel a sense of accomplishment? Are you proud of this? I’m not talking about (big headed) ego here, just having a really nice feeling because you’ve achieved or completed that which you set out to do … That you overcame obstacles. …That you tackled hard problems … That you successfully faced adversity … That you conquered fears.

Notice the singular thread of what I’ve been saying. I’m speaking specifically about you and your individual strengths. And while it is a wonderful thing to have others support you, it is just as important for a belief in yourself. That you are capable of solving problems, and in setting and reaching new goals!

If you’ve determined you don’t have the strength or “power” to achieve for yourself, I’d like you to know that deep inside of you … YOU DO! It’s inside, perhaps buried at the moment, hidden midst insecurities and what you’ve decided are failures but it’s there, waiting for a signal from you. You are stronger than you can possibly imagine. And perhaps imagination might be a good thing here. It worked for Einstein and Disney pretty darn well, according to them.

Start today. It’s a good day for really believing in yourself. And …

… think about this. Your “Presence” of being YOU glows when you achieve. It’s noticed by others, and the really cool thing is you’ll notice it too!

Time to start glowing.

Throwback Thursday: Women – Stand your ground! You can do it!

Last fall I published a post about it being your life and you should own it. Well I’m using the video clip I used from that post and a few of the words I said last year, so please read. It’s your life!

Stand your ground. Your life belongs to you. You are the one that breathes in and out of your body every day. You are the one who should be choosing what you plan to do with it, or are doing with it. The struggle may be difficult, but it’s worth it.

In the following video clip from the movie “Aliens” the heroine “Ripley” definitely encounters more things than we can ever imagine having to cope with in our lives by having to fight aliens on another planet.

But there is a point to be made here. When something needs to be done. She does it. She makes the hard decisions she needs to make, in spite of her fears, and makes them count!

.

We, women may not be facing aliens but we are still facing the right to be all we can be, as equal human beings. And it’s worth the fight, ladies. Stand up for your rights. It’s your life! Don’t let anyone take that away from you!

How many times in your life do you plan to keep feeling helpless and “less than”? That needs to stop, now. Inside of every single one of you dwells the ancient heart of a warrior, we’ve always been survivors: For our children and our families, now it’s time to make sure we’re surviving for ourselves, too – for the right to be our own person.

It’s time to accept the person that you truly are: the nurturer, the teacher, the guide, the peacemaker, the strength giver, the sustainer, the lover of all mankind and life – time to wake up your “loving warriors heart” because –

“That’s what little girls are really made of …

and we are long overdue for being acknowledged for this!”

So, stand your ground! You’ll find you’re not alone, I for one, am right there with you!

This is my throwback Thursday post, but if I could I’d post it every day until every single female on this planet understood and believed in the truth of my words!

All Your Todays!

Quotes are wonderful things. They remind us of … well … who we are; how we’d like to be and feel, or how we are feeling in the moment.

A favorite quote of mine is:

“Life is too short to start yourself with broken pieces of yesterday,
it will definitely destroy your wonderful today
and ruin your great tomorrow” ~ Unknown Author

So, having said that, this Monday morning here in the Northwestern section of America, I wish you the happiest memories from your yesterdays, the greatest successes in your todays and blessings and well wishes for all your tomorrows.

“We may not be able to change our yesterday, but we can be stronger, braver in our todays, beginning by feeling good about ourselves and then sharing and caring with others!” ~ Penny L Howe, 2014

Have a most excellent week ahead,

~ Penny

You deserve to be heard…

… and I hear you in my heart.

Each beat of my own heart reminds me of how wonderful you are. You, my beloved people of Earth give me reason for being. YOU, each of you, individually do this for I know we are ALL part of the whole of humanity, and to do our best we need each other.

Please believe that even though we may not know each other, I care about you. And I hear and love you, wherever you are in this wonderful planet we share together, you are not alone … you are loved. Don’t give up. Be brave. You’re worth it!

~

“I hear you in my heart, I feel you in my soul, we “all humans”
are connected to one another
even as we are connected to the very fabric of life on our planet.
Listen closely … you’ll hear and feel it too.
Our love for one another – is stronger than every negative thing
that’s out there right now trying to defeat you and I.
But we’re stronger than that.
Yes we are!”

Are You The Captain Of Your Vessel? Are You Sure?

~

During a bad storm on the high seas;

a sturdy vessel, good navigation skills,

and a captain in control can make

the necessary difference for survival.

… And there is absolutely no difference when charting and sailing the high seas of your life,
most especially when weathering emotional storms that come your way.

(Bear with me here – sometimes it makes a positive difference for all of us to view things from a different perspective.)

“If the vessel, in which you travel (your body) isn’t doing so well, and your emotions are overwhelming you; if you find your thoughts and actions doing daily battle with worries, fearfulness, feeling trapped or defeated and you are unsure of your direction,

think on this …”

one) “YOU” are the captain of your vessel. It is yours to nurture and keep healthy. This makes a huge difference, after all, you would not take a poorly maintained ship out upon the ocean. Eat and drink healthily, and move your body in a healthy manner (exercise) as you can.

two) Your thoughts, emotions and subsequent actions are your “CREW”.

The actions you take in your life come about as the direct result of what you are thinking and feeling – that’s a fact! If your “crew” steering your human vessel isn’t doing well and spending all it’s time reacting to things; then it’s time for you, the captain, to step in and override these poor decisions.

three) Take charge of yourself. You are the captain. Charter your course, (your plans) Determine the direction you want to go (dreams, hopes, desires) and head that way. Make your course strong and clear, in spite of potential stormy weather or bad conditions.

Are you steering in the direction you want to go, adjusting your course as needed until your destination is reached?  Never forget, you are the captain (the one who should be in control) at the wheel. If not, now’s the time. Make those course changes.

And never forget – You’re the Captain!

Happy sailing!

Being Brave!

“Being brave and courageous isn’t about not being afraid!
Rather, it’s your recognition
that the importance
of what you’re doing
is far greater – than your feelings of fear!”

Some things need repeating – if you’re a woman!

It’s your life – own it!

I first wrote this piece a little over a year ago, and I’m posting it again because I believe it’s a message that we (women) need to be reminded of – again and again!

More than half of the people on this planet are female (this includes you and I)! We are not a minority in any way and this is your life, we’re talking about here. You are the one that breathes in and out of your body every day. You are the one who should be deciding how you want to live you life. YOU!

In the following movie clip from Aliens the heroine “Ripley” definitely encounters more things than we can ever imagine having to cope with in our lives.

But there is a point here. When something needs to be done. She does it. She makes the decisions she needs to make and makes them count!

We may not be facing aliens but every day we face all sorts of things to be dealt with. Our choices, our life. This includes speaking out on our beliefs and rights and defending them if necessary. Decide and then make it happen. It is your life, Don’t let others dictate how it’s going to be!

In the meantime, enjoy probably the greatest sci-fi heroine ever! And yes, she definitely owns her life!

Thanks for your visit, remember stay strong and take care of you!
