Neverending Change, Captured in Words

Words, words words. They’re amazing things aren’t they? Drifting in, around and through our thoughts and emotions connecting with or latching onto every bit of life’s often overlooked creative aspects and/or acquired wisdom in our daily, sometimes meandering advenures.

Those minutiae of flotsam within life experiences, frequently add to an artisan’s imagination, collaborating with her/his words to bring forth the profoundness of a thought, idea or expression.

On the one hand we’re blessed with this finely honed awareness of life, on the other hand it can often lead us far from our original intent as life is a never ending spiral where the old gives way to the new (and upon occasion revisits the old again) and as we all recognize about change … well … it’s constant, whether we wish it were so or not.

I believe the key
here is to embrace change as often as one can, recognizing that even during its turmoil, within its essence is an neverending source of information and inspiration for the next great thing you shall write, my creative soulmates.

Thanks for reading my written thoughts. I wish you well.

Every Living Thing Has a Story to Tell.

image

Every living thing on our planet has an involvement they share in. A story to tell. Even those that are silent“~Plh

To use a bit of a metaphor here, many of us have moved too far away from our roots. And its hurting us … as a species. We are as irrevocably connected to the flora, fauna and wildlife as they are to us. Fact, not some idealistic fantasy.

The biodiversity health of our planet is dependent on the ongoing natural interaction of all life. And for quite awhile we’ve been messing with nature inappropriately.

Something we all need to not just be thinking more about, but actually doing something. NOW. We need to begin today. Its important for all our tomorrows.

In fact, probably more than we realize.

Fantasies of Autumn – Haibun!

There is a place, hidden from everyday view, my mind wanders there frequently – The “Other Place” – where reality lies suspended. A retreat into the world of pure Imagination. A calm from the storm and a safe haven. Both balm and catalyst to those of creative natures. I’ll introduce you more fully to my Other Place later on, but for today, a brief glimpse:

… Autumns arrival.

Fall fairies abound, pixies, brownies and the like, woodland creatures. Seasonal changes find them everywhere painting our landscape with colors of autumn. My favorite creature is the “Sprite of Leaves”. Gloriously fluid, she performs her acrobatic dance in whirl winds. Spiraling leaps with twists and turns as she glides across the land. She is glorious isn’t she?

Roots

roots

~

In most plants (such as the tree) the roots are the part of the plant that attaches it to the ground to convey nourishment to the plant so it can grow. Strong roots are essential for the well being of plant life.

file00073353901Humans need roots too. Might I inquire as to the nature of the roots that human beings are utilizing right now?

Roots of ancestry are less and less important as cultures combine with others in the ever increasing migration of peoples to different countries and lands.

Roots of family ties have been pretty much pushed usunder by societal changes where individuals are grouped by ages, and employment as to where they will be, becoming separated from the nurturing of a file4651278643375rich, healthy family environment (of all ages, young, adult, elderly).

Roots from comradery within the workforce where people used to get a job or hire on for their career for most of their working years. This happens rarely now.

Roots from the community and organizations where change is constant and many organizations (including churches) are failing because of monetary considerations, and different values and interests by local individuals.

And as a result of all the above, more and more of us prefer to connect with one another via the instant connection of modern technology.

Politics – local, national, and international? Well, let’s not even go there, shall we? So what are we left with then!

Where are the roots to be found for humanity to come together, and grow on? And how can we find them?

trees

We create our roots. Beginning at the heart of things. The heart of the human being and who we really are. Remembering that some things are of a natural order. No special studies or double blind testing needed to just “know” how you feel about yourself and those around you.

And we are at the beginning of awareness again. The hearts are gathering around the world. The roots are beginning to spread. We, many of us, are remembering. More time is needed, but it is happening.

In the meantime civilization goes on it’s way, not necessarily expanding humanities capabilities but running parallel with technology, nudging us, reminding us that this isn’t quite right! that at some point in time, we lost our way.

And it’s time to get our roots back again, so we can finally begin to realize our full potential in life as human beings! Past time, actually, but not too late!

Thank you for stopping by, have a wonderful Friday!

Are you getting there – your way?

Winter_Road

Road less traveled

Are your todays the continuing shadows of yesterday and are your tomorrow’s only echoes of someone else’s today?

Is life’s road that you walk upon the one that you want to be on?

If not, then make today ‘the day’! “The first day in the rest of your life.” Most of us have heard this before. But that doesn’t make it any less true. So make it so. It’s a new year. No reason not to head down a new road even if it’s the one less traveled, as long as it’s the road you’ve chosen for yourself.

If I be true

Let it be first to me,

If I be strong

Let it last

e’er so long,

If I be brave

Let it be

while I gave.

With all that I give

Let it be while … I LIVE!
