The Colors of Our Creative World

First things first, I’d like to wish everyone very happy holidays and a Merry Christmas.

So here’s my why about this thought of the day:

I believe the colors of our imagination are far greater (and mysterious) than simple primary templates such as nature itself illustrates. It’s the greater profusion of multiples of blendings and shadings that actually create the multilayered complexity of life (as we assume it to be).

To share ourselves more fully, when we can, it is then needed to dive deeply into this beautiful and imaginative array of colors. This be where the hidden underbelly of creativity within reality can, perhaps, more fully reveal mysteries we’re surrounded by and a part of but have yet to discover.

Whimsical? Maybe or maybe not. In any event I suggest we color ourselves as beings filled with curious curiosities. Such then may our creative thought and expressiveness be more fully formed, revealed and realized.

I wish you most well, dear creative souls. This means you, of course.

With much affection,

~ Penny

When Dreamers Dream

123dreaming

A Dreamer Dreaming!

When Dreamers Dream … which they do (of course) … there is this ethereal sort of frequency (quality of thought) released from the dreamer’s emotions, Emanating outward, coalescing into the most magnificent potentials existing right on the precipice where never ending possibilities lay in wait.

Not beyond our capabilities to create because … after all, we’ve dreamed them into existence.

How very beautiful: Our dreams, those created and crafted potentials, and of course … the dreamers. This being All Of Us! Yay “Us”!

Soooo ….Go Dreamers go. Dream big. Dream strong. dream long. Dream creative but most importantly … dream on!

Thanks for stopping by, I wish a most positive and creative uplifting week to every single dreamer out there. Stay safe, stay well.

With great affection,

Prisms of Fear – Yours and Mine!

anetherealbeauty

Ethereal Beauty

When you look at life through lens darkened with shadowy prisms of fear everything can look wrong/bad, even futile; this includes how you view yourself, others and the nature of things happening to and around you.

Therefore, it becomes of great importance for you to know and understand that your fears have no power unless you give them same. Hatred and insecurities are fueled by fear.

And you … well you have much more internal power than you think you do. Time to be aware of this. Let your spirit loose. Be who you were meant to be. Set things up the way you want them … you know, the way that within your glorious heart of hearts and dreams they are meant to be. First in thoughts and then with your actions.

You belong to you. You are the powerhouse that feeds creative energy to your soul. Energy connected to you through Universal love, an ever flowing spiritual currency without end. Let your energy free, love filled and awash with light. The darkness of fear cannot reside here. At least not for long.

Today’s the day to begin to make it so. Be brave and never forget  … your bravery BECOMES you.

I believe in you and wish you well.

Welcome 2018, A Look Ahead For We “Creatives”

Winter by Plh

Welcome to a new year. Currently it’s winter on my part of the planet, but for many of us it has felt like we’ve been living an entire year of winter within our creative hearts. Last year we were extremely reactive in terms of relating to negative social/news media and our overall creative input/output.

This year will bring positive changes with much greater ‘action’ as opposed to ‘reaction’,  thus the nature of our ‘human cycle of changes’ or the flux occurring as a result of cause and effect continues. Many of us are exhausted from reacting to a turbulent previous year, pacing ourselves to ‘hang in there’ in those final months.

This will be a year refocusing on our future actions, ideally coming from a higher moral fiber, and most definitely coming from within our beautiful, creative thoughts and ideas.

From a macro perspective, the powerful will seek more power; the rich will seek to become richer; the poor (encompassing the majority of human life on our beautiful planet Earth – Why Is That?) will seek survival from the overreaching powerful and wealthy; and we creatives (which are found in each sector of human existence) will continue to create. Some to become more powerful, some to become rich or richer, some to make a positive difference to humanity and some because when all is said and done, regardless of the reason, we just can’t help ourselves with the need to create.

The human cycle of life is still at play in spite of our, seemingly, natural inclination towards self destruction yet I most humbly believe it can be we creatives who inspire more of us to do and be all we can be in this new year.

In the “micro” of things never forget you are unique, you are gifted, you can accomplish so very much. Just remember one thing … to believe in yourself! You are your very best supporter (as you should be) so carry on with your dreams and your goals.

Welcome to this great new year. One filled with possibilities, capabilities and potentials. We can make it so!

I wish you most well and prosperous in 2018.

Neverending Change, Captured in Words

Words, words words. They’re amazing things aren’t they? Drifting in, around and through our thoughts and emotions connecting with or latching onto every bit of life’s often overlooked creative aspects and/or acquired wisdom in our daily, sometimes meandering advenures.

Those minutiae of flotsam within life experiences, frequently add to an artisan’s imagination, collaborating with her/his words to bring forth the profoundness of a thought, idea or expression.

On the one hand we’re blessed with this finely honed awareness of life, on the other hand it can often lead us far from our original intent as life is a never ending spiral where the old gives way to the new (and upon occasion revisits the old again) and as we all recognize about change … well … it’s constant, whether we wish it were so or not.

I believe the key
here is to embrace change as often as one can, recognizing that even during its turmoil, within its essence is an neverending source of information and inspiration for the next great thing you shall write, my creative soulmates.

Thanks for reading my written thoughts. I wish you well.

Words Within Worlds Within Words

~ Well written words reveal themselves to be branches spiraling ever outward; releasing and igniting an ever changing spectrum of emotions ripe with potential for the emergence of new thoughts and ideas from those readers/speakers of our verbal creations.

~ Whether fiction, nonfiction, prose, scripts, lyrics or other, writers do much more in our crafting of words than just informing or entertaining.

~ Perhaps we may view each of our written endeavors as not just creative methods of communication and/or expression, but more aptly as inventions of innovative and thoughtful imagination, serving up potent catalysts of change involved with the evolution of who (as human beings) we are or in an even more expansive view ~ of who we’ve yet to become. ~Plh, 2017

The Current View From Our Eyes

I believe in coincidences. I also believe that the truth of everything is found within life’s mysteries; those small insignificant ones and the huge gigantic ones.

I also believe in magic (another word for explaining the unknown), fantasy and most especially life as we’ve yet to understand it.

Each time a “new” discovery is made in academia/independent ventures is it really new or is it just some revealing of a layer of life already present in the selective consciousness of the universe?

Kismet, coincidence or fate all have the same flavor. Said flavor being what is currently understood and accepted on a particular day.

So boiling down all the facts, we of current ideologies or understanding do view life within the boundaries of our individual imaginations or put another way …

“Seeing is not believing but rather … believing is seeing.” ~ Plh

Dichotomy’s Dissertation of Lonely and Alone

A creative interpretation through the medium of words viewing man’s struggle to understand man.

windowview

All Alone Am I

“Seeking through the blur of today’s truths

blending with yesterdays untruths (well, my interpretation thereof)

I find myself staring out the window

through early morning misty emptiness

even as

sunlight streams through my senses

creating a blistering awareness of being alive …

and worthy? I do not think I know what that word truly means

or in the obtuseness of my current thinking processes

it seems I don’t wish to know.

Yet do I recognize

how lonely am I

midst humanity’s crush

where futility sneaks in to blossom and flourish

in spite of hope.

Hope? Are you out there?

I’ve lost my way and find

my new reality is reminding me that

there is not one single soul caring

(the perception that I may still be of some selfish use for them not withstanding)

about me in this mass of life’s everything-ness.

Caring about

where I be

why I am

or even

more explicitly …

Who am I and if I am, do I indeed matter – in the whole scheme of things … do I?”

Sigh, it does seem, on some days that we humans are more confused than not. But I believe we are all seeking our place in the whole mixture of life’s adventure. And then there are those clever little things called “our emotions” likening to a riptide, riding high one moment and pulling you under the next. But I also believe we do, somehow, always manage to #GoOn! And that is a most excellent thing! 🙂 Have a great day and wonderful weekend to come.

Criticism – The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

artists

The Artisan

The word “artist” here applies to anyone who creates. They may use any format, any medium, any creative talent and will produce something original. Written words, musical sounds, lyrics, paintings, photography, movies, videos, sculpture, crafting, dancing, acting, style, design, digital, chemical, architectural, physical – any inventive application of our imagination.

“Imagination is more important than knowledge … For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.” – Albert Einstein.

*

CRITICISM – THE GOOD

To me ”Constructive Criticism” is refined. An effective type of critical feedback. The reader/viewer/listener will tell you what they find ”good” about your creative endeavors and share what “they believe” can be improved upon. So far so good. When you ask a person to “critique” your work pick someone you know to be skilled in the area of your artistry. They will give you an informed perspective with their opinion. Most artistry comes with learning the “tools of the trade”. This is important. The person who is offering critical feedback should be knowledgeable in this manner. If you don’t personally know someone like this, ask a fellow artist who they may know.

CRITICISM – THE BAD

critics

The Critics

There are many out there in the online world wide web of everything that profess to being “experts”! Many are well qualified but some are not. So do your research! Find out more about those you would ask for advice. Be very careful with those you approach for critical appraisal.

CRITICISM – THE UGLY

The world is in a flux of change. Some of the tried and true “rules” of what and how you should create (in any given medium) is evolving. There is a wellspring of innovative talent from around the world merging with one another right now. This means experimentation with creative new styles and methods.

theartist

You’re the Artist of your work ~ not anyone else.

Don’t let “experts” rain on your parade and tell you what’s wrong with your art just because it is perceived as different from the “norm”. Those who are tied to the past sometimes cannot easily see the essence of the future springing from your words, your art, your style of acting, your music, your photography, your videos, your technology, and so on. Be you! Create from the heart.

“The artist is still a little like the old court jester. He’s supposed to speak his vicious paradoxes with some sense in them, but he isn’t part of whatever the fabric is that makes a nation.” ~ William Faulkner

Molecules of Poetry ~ A Parallel Peripheral

“Sometimes I miss it – the beauty of a moment ~ which then moves on in stealthy fashion.

Analogous vibrating molecules of the poetry of a beautiful passing moment, shifting from here and now to a parallel peripheral to become cosmic music resonating through hyper space perhaps escaping to one of the eleven dimensions of which theoretical physicists speculate.

Meanwhile in this universe, the temporary abode where I reside, vision and senses once again caught up in deluded preoccupation with just plain regular things. Known entities with known outcomes being naught but what they always are …

. . . distractions!

Thus in that moment of sheer wonder, the perfect and spontaneous specialness of a beautiful moment dissipates and this new potential entry into the poetry of my life will not be written or experienced by me, but heard for ever more somewhere out there in the Universal Collective Consciousness. But then it’s all relative, isn’t it. Sigh.” Penny L. Howe, 2016
