In Pursuit of Elusive Motivation

If you are attempting to increase your motivation for accomplishing a thing but feel stymied on how to make this happen, then consider the following:

A passionate determination is the true starting point for enabling the release of one’s emotional persistence. Persistence, in turn, opens the (often too tightly closed) gateway into core inner strengths (energy).

We become stronger and more capable (in effect more motivated) for dispelling personal fears –  facing down and overcoming obstacles that frequently occur during our pursuit of goals. The message here is very clear – be passionate. Be passionate with your creative endeavors. Be passionate with your beliefs and most importantly, your belief of self.

You can do this! Yes. You. Can.

Why … We Go On.

It’s really about self motivation when it comes right down to the carrying on of things when others all around are retreating, laying blame or quitting.

Tenacity is a good word. It means never giving in or up. It means going that extra mile when it appears all is going against you.

We can hold within our hearts excellent hopes and dreams for our futures (an important thing to do, absolutely) but beyond this, it is a “forged in fire, keep on keeping on”attitude of unrelenting determination that will get the job done.

And even more important is recognizing that with self reliance and self motivation for your own personal goals you become a torch bearer for others. Lifting up their spirits, letting them know all things are still possible, giving them something to believe in, not just you but themselves as well.

It’s called leading by example when you go on while others are feeling too tired, fearful or worried.

Know then that the feeling of helpless hopelessness cannot survive in an atmosphere of loving strength and peaceful perseverance, it just can’t! Which is why … We Go On!

Take care of you,

With much affection,

At the edge of your tomorrows …

The word ‘edge’ is an interesting word. A word that can enhance and expand (from a creative perspective) how you may view fulfillment of those dreams and goals in your life.

EDGE: The degree of sharpness (a blade’s edge). The brink or rim of something (edge of a cliff). At the border of something (the edge of infinity). a precarious or exciting state of existence (living on the edge). Provocative or discomforting, a harsh or elusive quality being aroused by any of the emotional states of being.

The follow written soliloquy (by yours truly) illustrates my own fascination and usage of the word ‘edge’ relating directly to the power within you and your ability to reach your goals!

The Edge of Your Tomorrows

“Staring through infinity’s window

you witness all possibilities and potentialities.

Perhaps perilously poised at the edge of life

you …

sense a greater purpose,

feel a deeper belief,

know tomorrow’s coming,

even as you …

remain standing in a state of precarious balance

at the edge of life.

There are those constant nuances – the ebbs and flows –

your everyday’s … everything

lifting you up (or down), yet even so, carrying you onward!

*

You risk all by just being,

even as you experience much – by allowing,

you embrace tomorrow by accepting,

always aware

that you stand

ever poised on the edge of change …

… perhaps frightening but also potentially glorious and wonderful.

So Go For It – Your Tomorrow, that is.

You. Make It Happen. You!

You Do! Because as always … YouGoOn!”

Serious Intent – Yours and Mine!

image

Making it work!
Each wonderful day we wake with the potential for amazing possibilities just waiting to present themselves to us. We also wake with concerns, worries, responsibilities and … expectations.

image

Whether our expectations are positive or negative they exist, right there in our mind. As real as the new day. What we do with those expectations will shape the day to come. Or should I say the “outcome” of our day.

Here’s a big tip, actually a HUGE tip. Take just a few minutes at the start of each glorious day and with Serious Intent to follow through, imagine everything going well. See yourself approaching obstacles with great determination towards a positive solution. Stay in a mode of gratitude and forgiveness (It makes a difference) and remember … time is more flexible than you think, when you are flexible … yourself.

There is time enough for love, time enough for creativity and most definitely time enough to make your dreams come true.

image

Final point I’m making here is that NOW is the time … Your Time ~ right now, for you to go forward with serious intent to follow through on your dreams. I wish you most well, you are not alone and I know you can do it!

With much love this day,

The 5 “D’s” for Making things Happen – Yes you can!

image

“Have you ever noticed that facing the future is much easier when you’re already moving forward from your own momentum?”~ Plh

So where’s your energy level? Nothing like a nice big dose of motivation to get your creative juices flowing. What? No motivation?

Well, you see, that’s the thing. As difficult as it can be at times, the best motivation to rely on is often your own. You’re in charge of getting it going. Not that having support from others isn’t a grand thing, but sometimes it just isn’t there when you need it.

And perhaps you’re thinking “well that’s just great. I am so not into feeling inspired right now!”

Okay, here’s a fewinsider tips” on how to rev up your motivational quota:

1. Discipline & Determination = Drive!
2. Once you’ve got the 3 “D’s” down, the rest becomes easier, because you’ve learned it isn’t going to happen without significant daily action on your part.

3. Dreams -The fourth D is important but only a starting point. You also need a plan and follow thru.

Understanding and appreciating the rewards you will receive for your hard work and due Diligence (5th ‘D’) goes a long way towards staying motivated. Just keep your eyes on the goal (your reward) and keep on keeping on.

You can do it!

Important Tips – How to Be a Successful Writer!

Stay writing, no matter what. The water does not flow until the faucet is turned on” ~ Louis L’Amour

I Am Going to Succeed …

… because I can be more than I am … BECAUSE I believe in Me! (Say mantra daily and repeat as needed.)

motivation_succeed-t3

Life has a habit of intruding into our plans. Have you noticed this? I certainly have. You find yourself derailed from the direction you were headed by some unanticipated occurrence. And in many cases it seems to be an ongoing scenario, those unanticipated interruptions.

So what to do? Simplify your daily task schedule, (as you can) create a little spare time to handle potential interruptions. A good portion of what throws us off base are the emotions experienced (stress) with an unexpected event. Allowing for the possibility of unexpected intrusions in your day gives you a more positive mindset for approaching and resolving unplanned situations.

Work on improving your personal organizational skills. Between work and family (both young and old) and the variety of responsibilities accompanying each area of involvement, the better organized you are, the better equipped you will be for tackling your tasks and completing them.

There are going to be hard days. I’ve discovered the best way to deal with them is to Think Positive and stay emotionally in control of yourself, don’t go to a ‘bad place’. Don’t allow negative thoughts to take over. Remind yourself you can get through this latest interruption. Regardless of what it is.

There are many excellent examples of average people who manage to continue on, in spite of overwhelming odds and adversity. What they all have in common … they never lose sight of their goal, they stay determined and they … Believe in Themselves!

Have a great week ahead, and as always … take care of you. If you aren’t well not only do you have a harder time accomplishing your goals, you can’t be there for those who need you!

The Written Word

fon-knigi-25170Did I get your attention?

How about YOUR written word?

Okay, NOW that I have your attention, let’s spend just a few minutes there. Why do you write? You’re thinking to yourself well that’s a simple question but … in the marketing business one of the first questions you ask a new small business owner is why they’re doing what they’re doing (besides wanting to make money, that is, lol). You would be surprised at how many cannot answer that question very clearly, first time out.

So, here’s the question again. Why do your write? Well: 1) You enjoy writing creatively. 2)You have a message to pass on 3) You love to read a certain genre of book and now wish to try your hand at writing and publishing same.  4) You want to be published and make money.

Okay let’s assume that number 4 is a given (unless you’re independently wealthy in which case please contact me.)

Seriously, depending on how you answer that question really dictates the manner in which you should continue with your “finished” work. (Have a “pro” edit it first, please – worth the fee.) If you’re an independent sort, becoming an Indy Author could be a good thing. More research to learn how to self publish is needed, as well as more research on how to self market (once self-published) also will be needed. No pain, no gain (an old saying but true). Your self published book will not sell itself (sadly) unless you’re already a known and popular Indy author. And even they know they have to stay “out there” and market.

If you really don’t wish to do the extra work as an Indy Author then the traditional method of finding a Publishing firm who will do all the above, is the way to go. Again the saying “no pain, no gain” enters the picture because there is an incredible amount of individuals vying for the same thing you want. To be previewed and accepted by a Publishing house. This takes time and persistence as well. In the process you will learn more than you wished to know about policies and procedures as well as who to and how to submit your work.

Either route is time consuming and a serious commitment. It just isn’t going to happen overnight. You have huge volumes of competition (lots of other ‘would be” authors).

If you have the passion to not give up, to keep pursuing and you believe in your “written word”, you will achieve. Don’t forget failure is just another step on your way to success.

Key words to remember: Passion, Persistence, Determination. A sincere never give up attitude. And I’ll add one more thing … Get help. Don’t be shy, ask others (who are published) how they did what they did. Some of these published authors will take the time to answer you because they remember being there too.

I hope my words have been of value to you.

Have a great weekend coming up and as always take care of you.

To Think Well and Prosper in your Life!

We get so wrapped up in life we forget it is as simple as we wish it to be. There will be both sadness and happiness, good things and bad things happening in our lives. But we decide how each will ultimately affect us.

As the New Year approaches, think of yourself as a vessel filled with potential (because it is). Think not of your disappointments (though they are there) think of your successes (they are there too.)

Life

I am that I am

no more, no less than it seems

I live, I love, I am

haiku by PL Howe ©

I encourage you to consider the raw capability you have inside you. You’ve but to activate it, through your creative process of positive thinking and determination.

And one more thing …

“The complexity of life decreases when balanced with thoughtful consideration and action.” ~ P

A most excellent and wonderful New Year to you,

~ Penny

Calling on Hope … or perhaps Hope calls on you!

Weariness can bring it’s own sort of distress.

when my heart gets weary

and I cannot seem to breath

my soul whispers hope

*

It’s inside your heart, you know. The determination and ability you need to carry on. In spite of fatigue, weariness and the feeling of being completely overwhelmed with life. Your life, in particular.

Look inward. It’s there. It’s been there in the past and it’ll be there again. Waiting to shore you up, strengthen your resolve and assist you with some common sense problem solving and solutions, so life doesn’t seem so out of control.

Good Luck, I know you can do this. After all it’s a good thing for you … to take care of you!

With affection,

~ Penny
