Sometimes, to get past where you are – the best thing to do is BE CREATIVE!

Penny L Howe, 2013

A time to be creative is during the days (weekends) when (even) those who care so deeply, feel a sense of helplessness and of being overwhelmed with events happening in our lives and the world, where there is so much work to be done to make things better.

This weekend, take a short break. Be creative and do something fulfilling and relaxing. Monday is Veterans day, an excellent day to spend, being with and, remembering those who have given so much for us and our country.

Be appreciative and thankful and embrace your life! Spend some time being creative. Let your talent take you to a place that makes you feel better about you! Sometimes, when you feel overwhelmed this is a very good thing to do!

Give yourself permission; enjoy nature, explore and create.

“Hello Mr. Bee! Whatcha’ doing?”
*

I slept in this morning (yes!). I’ve had a lot going on recently, nothing negative, just busy. But I haven’t been sleeping well. I’m rather a nut about staying balanced in my life so I’ve been frustrated over my inability to sleep soundly lately.

I did all the “tried and true” methods with no success and then a few days ago I sat quietly by myself and considered – everything! And then I moved the things on my agenda aside (those I could) and went completely into artistic mode.

I gave myself permission to enjoy being creative, by first spending some time in the world of nature (maybe not as close up as this amazing photo of a dog and bee (LOL), still I did really immerse myself and then I began to sketch and draw, the results to be shown soon on a forthcoming blog!

And guess what? I am now sleeping like a log. Giving myself over to art and nature and then some private artisitc time did the trick. Helped me balance the rest of my “have-to” activities!

This weekend, give yourself permission to be! Both relaxed and creative. Your mind, body and soul will thank you for it!

Hope you’re enjoying your weekend~

The Thing About “To Do” Lists!

I’ve discovered the most amazing thing.

In order for the “to-do” list to really be helpful, you have to actually “do” the things on the list! Well bummer, that!

My “to do” list tends to be – “those things that I should have already done but I keep reminding myself everyday to do, by rewriting … and adding to … them” LIST. And then I pare it back down by reviewing the list, thinking to myself “do I really have to-do this one today?”  I’ve come to the realistic conclusion that some things belong in a second “to-do” list. One called. “Okay, so I really don’t want to do these things (at all) but I’d better or something bad is going to happen” LIST!

Now, my “to-do because I want to” LIST … well that’s another story. (Actually I don’t have a “want-to” list). I seem to remember to do those things all by my little ol’ self.

And while I’m on the subject of Lists, have you noticed there are lists for everything under the sun – now. Quantum amounts of lists. You name it – there’s a list for that.

And demographically speaking, you’re probably in a whole bunch of them, you lucky you! It’s called gathering statistics and every single social media platform is a busy little bee or “spider” running around collecting data about you – sorting and organizing, distilling and going after you more aggressively because You ARE on their “to-do” list. It’s all about accumulative numbers, ratings, and percentages for business and organic “online growth” … trust me on this one. If you’re online there is no way you aren’t on one or more lists … somewhere!

So what does any of this have to do with making your daily “to-do” list and getting it done? Not a darn thing. Or maybe it does? Maybe there are too many lists accumulating everywhere (at both home and work, offline and on) and not enough “Just Do It”! (quantitative action). Maybe! Just sayin’.

Photo taken of an illustration in a 100+ year old book! I added the rest, lol! Penny L. Howe, 2013

(p.s. – Now that I think about it there are two lists I’d love to be on – “Santa’s Gift list and the best seller “book list”! LOL

Have a great day. Try not to take life so seriously, we have whole lists of people working diligently on that one – so lighten up, smile and laugh.

Hope my post helped you achieve at least a smile or two today.

Thanks for stopping by,

Happy Weekend Bloggers,

nature

~

I’m hoping that everyone is having a wonderful, relaxing and enjoyable weekend!

My plans include relaxing, and more relaxing (well besides some work in the yard – a good workout and the yard thanks me)!

– a field trip for sketching, nature calls to me (fun)!

– a few hours of the written word (addiction)!

– happily reading, lost in someone else’s words!

– playing and enjoying the family!

– some quiet time, music and reviewing solitary thoughts!
Mostly reminding myself to take care of me (not being selfish,
here just reminding myself of my own self worth –
A reminder to each of you!)!

Plugged In, turned on, tuned in … blogging vib’s of Life!

plugged inPlugged In

Are you …

Plugged In, turned on and tuned in to the vibrations of life? If you’re not you should be. Some great things going out out there.

Just waiting for you to go on out there and be a part of it all!

Blogging with Word Press makes it easy, Twitter adds to the mix, You tube turns up the volume, Facebook – well – totally up close and personal with that one. Plus a whole wealth of other interactive connections to ramp up the living experience.

The key, partake in small bites. Because one things adds to the next which adds to the next and so on. A ripple affect. So get in the swing of things but be moderate. Come on board slowly, understand the basic how-to’s of connectivity, ask fellow bloggers, or Facebookers, or those who tweet, they’ll gladly help you and then Go for it!

Ripples – Catching the Vibrations of Life!

~And from a fun perspective of vibrations this video here’s an unedited video: all the video-er did was put his camera phone inside his guitar and play a little piece he’d been working on. Like him I was stunned to see such pronounced vibration. Such is life! Everything has a vibration. What’s yours?

~

Thanks for the visit, have some really good …(you know what’s coming next) “Good Vibrations!”
