Go For It
“If you wait for others to tell you what to do with your life –
it won’t be your life you’re living … So … Just go for it!”
Penny L Howe, 2014
It’s all about the practice of things!
I will not give in
I’ll practice each day,
no matter the problems
coming my way.
I’ll practice and practice,
I shall not fail.
Watch me go to it,
blazing my trail.

You can practice being successful, getting better and better at a thing or you can practice not doing much of anything at all, because in the end it is about practicing, repeating, improving upon, strengthening, over and over until it becomes a habit.
It doesn’t happen any other way.
*
So practice! Believe in your self! Set goals and then practice!
See yourself being successful! And don’t under any circumstances let anyone else stop you! Not ever!
Begin today. Create your own habit of practicing success!

Have an excellent week ahead,

How do we determine our value or self-worth?
There appear to be a wide variety of systems in place today, along with achievement markers for “qualifying” things; grade scores, evaluations etc.
But what measuring tool do we use to decide this for ourselves?
Think carefully here because this is the attitude you bring when deciding whether or not to “go for it” in life, you know … do something new or challenging!
Do you believe in yourself?
Are your feelings about yourself based on someone else’s assessment (someone else’s negative attitude – because of their own failures or jealousy).
Have you been told what you can’t do, so many times, that you’ve decided there is probably no point in trying because you’ll fail anyway, like always … sound familiar?
Okay so here’s the point – when doubting ourselves, regardless of the reason why, we then proceed to worry ourselves into panic attacks, negative attitudes and pretty much live up to what in reality was a false assessment – not a true one at all.
And that’s the Why about this!

The famous author, Laurell K Hamilton was told by the head of a creative writing program (that she was kicked out of) in college that she’d never make it as a writer and that she was a corrupting influence on the other students. It crushed Laurell. She didn’t write again for several years.
After a series of successful books, when asked why she didn’t send her books to this teacher to show her what a success she had become Ms. Hamilton replied (these are her words):
“No, because she didn’t believe I couldn’t succeed as a writer, she feared I could! She feared I would go out and do exactly what I have done…”
~
And that’s that, sums things up nicely I think, have a nice day, take care of you and believe in you too!

Journal Entry ~ Yesterday I woke up and felt as if I had the whole world on my shoulders. I didn’t really – it just seemed that way. So much to do, so little time. But upon reflection I realized that the biggest challenge facing me today were my own thoughts. My own worries.
I was the one adding stress to the day by feeling the way I was feeling. So mid-way through the day I stretched my whole body. I took calming deep breaths. I reminded myself of my blessings and I told myself I could make the day what I chose it to be. And I did. It wasn’t remarkable to anyone ~ except me… and that’ll do!

It is your life. You are the one that breathes in and out of your body every day. You are the one who should be choosing what you plan to do with it, or are doing with it. Are you?
In the following movie clip from Aliens the heroine “Ripley” definitely encounters more things than we can ever imagine having to cope with in our lives.
But there is a point here. When something needs to be done. She does it. She makes the decision she needs to make and makes them count! It’s worth a reminder.
We may not be facing aliens but every day we face all sorts of things to be dealt with. Our choices, our life. Decide and then make it happen. It is your life, go for it!
In the mean time enjoy probably the greatest sci-fi heroine ever! And yes, she definitely owns her life!

Thanks for visiting me, I hope you have a great week,

Precarious Position!
Ever had an experience, a time in your life where things were well, pretty precarious and you weren’t sure what to do next?
Many of us have experienced that fear of the unknown, that hesitant sensation of OMG what do I do now.
I’ve been there a time or two and this is what I learned about the risk of it all… Don’t just stand there, Move, Jump, Go forward! Afterwards sorry or not, you still did something.
You didn’t stand there and wait for something to happen to you. You made the first move.
I’m presenting you with one of my favorite (funny) 3 minute clips of one of the best know movies starring 2 of the best know hunkie dunkies (gorgeous guys) Paul Newman and Robert Redford. Enjoy, laugh and remember when in doubt, Jump!

You should be laughing now. I know I do everytime I watch this. Have a great weekend, and remember when in doubt, Jump! Penny
