Growing yourself!

“To share with others helps in growing self-worth!

To give of yourself furthers your growth exponentially.

But when you learn to receive,

as gracefully

as you share and give,

you become endowed with the greatest ability of all

~ that of encouraging others to grow as well!”

DID YOU NOTICE … (todays “kick in the rear” post)!

What did you notice when you first woke up this morning?

… As you prepared yourself for the day’s activities?

… When you had your first beverage of the day?

… As the day progressed?

…When evening came?

… As you prepared for bed?

… What did you notice?

file3571312649516

Did you notice that the sun came up? Did you notice that other people depend on you, directly or indirectly? Even the store clerk where you shop, your smile and a few pleasant words can make the difference in his or her busy day?

Did you notice things beyond the state of your own condition and existence …

…because if you didn’t notice these things … then you’re missing out on so much that life has to offer you. That life does offer you … each and every day you’re alive!

If you really want to be liked and be loved more … if you feel that this isn’t happening (if you spend all your time noticing that you’re being treated unfairly or that you aren’t worthy or anything else where your thoughts are only on yourself), then you are most definitely not noticing the right things.

“There is a wonderful law of nature
that the three things we crave most in life
*
happiness, freedom, and peace of mind,
*
are always attained
by giving them to someone else.”

What and who will you notice today? Have a good day today, thank you for stopping by,

Why Do You Blog

???

download (1)

The obvious reason is because you enjoy blogging. But Why?

Some bloggers begin with a “fixed agenda”. They have a product to sell or they are part of an organization and have a message they want to get out into public awareness on a professional level.

For many of us, it just seems like a fun thing to start doing.

Currently I’m writing a piece on how to promote your blog site so I recently visited quite a few bloggers and read the various reasons given for why they blogged. (When I was active in the marketing world one of the first questions I would ask a client was what they hoped to accomplish with an advertisement or promotional campaign.)

So the question “Why do you blog” seemed like a good place to start.

The answers were interesting because they were multi-layered and the reasons for blogging morphed or changed a bit over a period of time. The first reason.

  • It makes you feel good. The creative process, writing the words/or creating the artistry, displaying the results; photographs, illustrations and videos, music etc.

The second reason was also obvious.

  • Wanting to share your words, ideas, (creativity, thoughts, images sounds and moving action) with others. And to share theirs. Learn about their world and what they were/are doing!

The third reason was the most interesting, however. And the reason I think many of us feel a sense of addiction, after awhile, to the blogging world.

  • validation. Or more to the point, connecting with others, creating awareness of yourself outside of the world you live in. Being liked and appreciated for who you are and what you’re doing.

In summation, many people set out to blog, to find their own identity, to explore themselves (unaware, to a degree, that this is what they are doing). As soon as we’re old enough to recognize our need for other’s approval, we consciously or subconsciously continue to look for it. And whether we receive it as a child or not, a part of our adult makeup continues to want and need that approval. To be well thought of. Validated as having purpose, value, a worth.

The blogging world is excellent for this purpose. With very little understanding of the how and why of the online technology of today you can create your own blog and connect with others.

The ‘like’ button lets the blogger know his/her current post has been “liked”. The ‘follow’ button let’s the blogger know their posts “in general” are liked and the other blogger wants to “follow” them. The ‘comment section’ allows a blogger to share their feelings about any given post that has been written. The additional ‘multi-media options’ (such as twitter, facebook, linkedIn, google+ and so on) allows others, (visiting your blog), to spread the word (further endorsing that they like what you are doing).

And there you have it. Approval and validation. And don’t think it isn’t important. How many of you are unaware of the numbers of how many visit you, and who they are? And why is it important to you? Just think on this a bit.

So we’ve come full circle back to the question. Why do you blog? It’s for all of the above reasons.

I believe, for most of us, blogging is exceedingly healthy. You reach beyond where you are or where you’ve been, or even perhaps where your going. You set your sights a little higher. You bring potential goals a little closer.

I’ll venture a guess and say that most of the emerging bloggers -including myself – (in the last year or two) as well as those coming out right now, don’t have much of a clue about the technology they are using to communicate with others. They just know they want to.

And that – all by itself becomes an enriching learning process. The global communication system now available to so many of us is an excellent way to learn and grow, share and connect and become more than you’ve been.

So ask yourself, one more time – Why do you blog? Is it to connect and communicate with yourself and others? To share, learn, grow while being creative and interactive? To achieve a greater awareness of who you are and feel good about those discoveries? I’m guessing for most all of us the answer is yes to all the above!

Happy blogging, enjoy the process and create, share, learn and grow, I know I am.

~ Have a great day,

And yes, after a year I decided to change the “theme” of my blog page, I hope you like it!

Are YOU, hidden from view, on the inside!

file5451255490381

Are you Really – YOU?

Let me put that another way. Are you the YOU that you wish to be or someone else’s version! A societal file00093066100construct manufactured by demographic opinions. Or a person lead by those who feel they “know best” about who and how you should be.

It seems that too many of us conform to a certain mindset so we can be accepted and thought well of. In fact I know very few who don’t experience this type of thinking, at some point or other in their lives.

Some actually live there, though, dwelling in misery. That is to say, they try so hard for acceptance by performing to another’s tune, they end up unhappy within themselves; because they are not being the person they truly want to be, the one on the inside.

And in the process are losing themselves, and everything that they might be, by trying to be something they are not. Meanwhile going through all of the “acceptable” motions on the outside.

You know who you are, too. I know I was there – for quite awhile. Trying very hard to please, so I would be accepted. It didn’t dawn on me until much later that all of the people I really admired, werefile00078014988 their own person. And I enjoyed being around them, because they enjoyed being around themselves and were happy, just because. They felt good about themselves and felt very little need to conform to the dictates of others unless it was something they wanted for themselves also.

I began to experiment being me, on the outside, in small little steps, a little bit at a time,  and the really astonishing thing for me was (and still is) the day I realized that those whom I had struggled, (so very hard) to get the approval of, now admired and respected me (and told me so).

Quite the lesson, because I was now doing what I wanted to do for myself and while I was pleased with their comments, it was no longer important. Being myself was what was important. And finally, I learned to say “no” when it was healthy for me to say no, and “yes” when it was healthy for me to say yes! My own person, a struggle but I made it.

So I ask again. Are you … really YOU? And if not, what’s stopping you? Try some little baby steps, venture out from the inside. You may find the climate quite to your liking (a happier one, too). I find I now like “the me that I am” very much and I think you should feel that way about you – too! It’s a great and liberating feeling!

Try, if for no other reason than for the person hidden inside, okay?

Nobody does it better

… than you!

heart

You … the heart of the matter,

and how your feel about yourself! I’m not talking ego, or being selfish or self-centered.

No I’m speaking of SELF WORTH! Many of us struggle with this.

And yet there you are … you amazing you! Can’t you

see how truly wonderful you are? Listen to the following video

and sing along with it … to yourself! Baby you’re the best!

You really are, you know!

It’s time you acknowledged this to yourself,

and reset your “How I feel about me monitor”!

Just inside you is this awesome person

waiting to be found and recognized for the pure value

she/he possesses. But she/he needs

your recognition and belief before believing it’s true!

So sing these words of praise to you

… for you

And then give yourself the biggest hug you can!

Because nobody does it better,

and it begins to make a difference

when you accept and believe this to be true!

~

Good, and I’ll keep on believing in you too, with all my heart

until you also know … you’re the best!

You are loved for who you are right now, all the parts and pieces

that make up the you that you are!

Don’t let anyone

ever convince you of anything different – it isn’t true!

The Infinite Loop of Life

The Infinite Loop of Life

~

Its all in how you think about it!

We shape our actions from our thoughts,

we shape our thoughts from our emotions,

we shape our emotions from our actions to our experiences in life,

as … we shape our actions from our thoughts.

And the loop begins again!

In a computer, an infinite loop (also known as an unproductive loop) is a sequence of instructions that loops endlessly, sometimes because there are no instructions given that will allow the looping to cease. Sometimes infinite loops cause the entire system to consume all available processor time until ended by the user.

Is your life an infinite loop and if so, perhaps it’s time to end this condition. Make some changes, rethink a few things so that the infinite loop in your life is gone!

Maybe just a few little positive changes in how you view yourself and your experiences in life might be a good place to begin! Give it a try. Start today.

An aspect of being … a human being!

contemplationIs it not fascinating that we, human beings, are gifted from birth with so many working processes and capabilities. Attributes (sensory, mental, physical and spiritual) enabling us to embrace, with a wonderful fullness, the miraculous mystery of life itself.

Instead, many human beings chose to view life (at a distance) making judgement calls through the limiting lens of insecurity and fear.

They see life’s inconsequentialities (now that’s a substantial word isn’t it, especially when it means something so very simple – “that which lacks importance”), but they/we leap upon these trivialities making of them meanings of importance, building upon our (and others) manufactured fears instead of nurturing truths that lay within and all around.

But there you have it, the nature of the human “being”. Are weexploring programmed to think so negatively, or has some portion of our “flight or fight” survival mechanism morphed it’s way into this state of being/existence.

I, for one find this a most undesirable trait and “state of existence” to live within.

May I recommend and strongly encourage you to consider a move – from this “state” of being to new territory. One that includes the richness of all that life has to offer. It’s out there, this vast unexplored (for many) territory of being. Yours for the asking, yours for the believing, yours for the doing.

Do not allow your mind to be “house bound” as the result of fears and misconceptions. Open yourself up and live. That is what life is all about, after all! But its still up to you to determine the aspect of your being, your choice – as always!

… In closing, beautiful and enabling words from a woman born without the attributes almost all of us take for granted; vision, hearing and for many years speech, yet she managed to overcome her adversities and indeed fully explored the richness of life itself. If she can do this, why can’t we?
