Your Body Listens to You

Yes it does, and in this complicated, complex world we live in our body pays especially close attention to each word we speak and every thought we think!

It hears you speak about what’s right and wrong, (add the word stress here). Your body hears every single word! It listens to your thoughts about how you’re feel about things, others, yourself, your emotions, yes it even hears you when your thinking about how your body itself feels – you know aches and pains, kind of things.

And then … your body decides how it’s going to cope with the day! A fact!

So help your body hear some good things. Let your body listen to the joy of balance and harmony created in your mind when you’re doing something you love. Gardening, Taking Photographs, Painting, Drawing, Running, Riding, Building, Reading, Playing, Singing, Loving.

Let your body hear you laugh – a lot. Let your body hear your thoughts when you do “stop to smell the roses”! Let your body hear some beautiful music you’re listening to and enjoying.

Let your body hear your thoughts of gratitude for what you do have that’s positive in your day.

Give your body a leg up … It’s listening to what you say and think (always) … say something that makes it feel better. Start today.

It does a body good, I promise!

Rethinking Your Thinking – for happiness, health and every other thing.

Many of us are struggling with life issues: Health, setting goals, personal relationships, feeling fulfilled as a human being. What has helped me each day is to rethink how I think about those things in my life.

What I’ve recognized is that to feel fulfilled in my own life, I’m the one that decides what has to happen first. In other words if I am the one that decides whether to be happy each day then I need to be happy – just because I can control my thoughts and feelings – it’s up to me.

The same goes with health, setting goals in your life and yes actually figuring out how to support your family. I struggled for years as a single parent raising my children (and I had severe health issues from time to time). What I realize now is that I accidentally made life much harder on myself by worrying, adding unnecessary stress to the various situations that occurred and whether you believe me or not, how you think about where you are right now in your life determines how it will continue to go. When you take positive control over your own internal thoughts & negative emotions an amazingly change will take place.

At least the view from my eyes indicates this to be true. But you decide. As I said it’s up to each of us.

My personal daily mantra:

“Today I will unemotionally  review my life, my values and my true needs and then make  intentional decisions, bringing about a positive change and an immediate improvement to my attitude and total well-being … after all I am in charge of me.” ~ Plh

On Becoming Lost …

Who You Think You Are … It Matters!

What do you think of yourself as a person? Seriously, come on be honest here, because unless you said I’m a happy and well adjusted individual who thinks of myself as a good person then you’re probably letting the past and other people dictate many of your feelings.

Truth is the following: it doesn’t matter who you were growing up as a child, or in school, if you were viewed as or thought yourself as unliked or unpopular – it doesn’t matter now. Unless you’ve decided to make it matter.

Because who you are deep inside – is the seed of you, of your potential and the possibilities of who you are meant to be. Everything else is an outside influence, you being the one to determine how to deal with them.

Anyone who decides their own self worth is tied into what others think is not seeing themselves clearly. A foggy view at best! Your self-worth is decided by you. All other things should factor in after you realize and accept this as your personal truth.

Our experience in life shapes and molds our character, another truth, however even if your life has been filled with negative circumstances and negative verbal input, it’s still you who decides what to do.

The only person you have to prove anything to is YOU, period!

And from where I’m standing you’re looking pretty terrific. You’re a great person with a huge, sensitive caring heart. The people who don’t realize this both past and present, (because they haven’t taken the time to get to know the real you), well that’s their loss … not yours.

So take another look at who you think you are. I believe the view is pretty amazing. The view of you, as it should be!

Every Living Thing Has a Story to Tell.

Every living thing on our planet has an involvement they share in. A story to tell. Even those that are silent“~Plh

To use a bit of a metaphor here, many of us have moved too far away from our roots. And its hurting us … as a species. We are as irrevocably connected to the flora, fauna and wildlife as they are to us. Fact, not some idealistic fantasy.

The biodiversity health of our planet is dependent on the ongoing natural interaction of all life. And for quite awhile we’ve been messing with nature inappropriately.

Something we all need to not just be thinking more about, but actually doing something. NOW. We need to begin today. Its important for all our tomorrows.

In fact, probably more than we realize.

Our Matrix, which pill (blue or red) and baked cookies!

How many of you have seen the movie “The Matrix“? If you haven’t, much of what I’m suggesting might be lost in translation but here goes anyway!

In the movie, most of the people live in ‘the world of now’ that has actually been created by a computer program (The Matrix). In the matrix everyone goes about their daily lives believing that everything they do is real!

When Neo (the protagonist, hero) is asked to chose between taking a symbolic red or blue pill, each pill has a purpose that will allow his mind to either see the falsehood of the matrix world (blue pill) or make him forget that the world he is living in isn’t the real one (red pill).

To confuse the issue even more, he is told he may be the “chosen” to lead humans out of this Matrix world they are trapped on. But how can he know this? In fact he finds it hard to believe. So he meets “The Oracle”, a highly intelligent psychic resembling a sweet middle aged lady who “knows” things and who loves to bake cookies.

Today I’m baking cookies (like the Oracle) sugar cookies in the shape of autumn leaves and we’ll be painting them with colored confectioners icing after they finish baking. Fall colors of course.

And what does baking cookies have to do with red and blue pills and the movie The Matrix? Pretty much everything. Because we are living in a fantasy. I mean honestly, is it realistic to gorge ourselves on fast food and pre-prepared food to the tune that we have become an obese nation with many illnesses as a result.

Is it realistic to live in a country where while we argue about the reopening of the government and the reasons why we need to continue government business as usual, we are still so many trillions of dollars in debt that it boggles the mind.

And is it reasonable for people to get up (except for those in the starving countries – many – although in the matrix of our lives they don’t exist except as intruding sound/video bytes of information that get quickly moved aside for something more interesting that’s – trending) and go through each day, knowing things are not really okay but just keep going anyway – by tuning in (electronically) and tuning out what they don’t want to hear or know about! Yes definitely the Matrix at work here.

Time to take a pill my friends. The red one – oblivious continuation of ignoring what we are doing to ourselves and others, living in a fantasy world of unrealistic expectations. Or the blue pill, accepting responsibility and changing your life style to begin the long road of fixing things.

As for me. Well I’m going to go back to baking more cookies. After all it’s what I do best, apart from reminding you of all the important things in life, like each other, and that I truly believe in you. Still not sure about things? Well, for right now, take a cookie, I promise, in a little while you’ll feel “right as rain”!

What do you believe in – And does your body believe you?

I truly believe there is a reason, I don’t have Crohn’s disease anymore. (and haven’t for 20+ years, and I was told “like cancer”, it is always there in the cells somewhere, or the capability of it reoccurring after my first surgery) I struggled with this disease for 20 years (awful problems, hospitalized more times than I care to recall – seemingly never ending) until I woke up one morning and just said … “No!”
Now I understand – that on that day, all four areas of the parts of my brain were in alignment (communication with each other) in that moment. So my “No” came equally from my emotion center, my cognitive center, my spiritual (belief system – whatever that may be for each of us) center, and my subconscious bodily activity center.
In other words, the chemical instructions via our neural pathways to the brain from each of those areas of activity sent the strongest message ever to my body that it could heal itself. And it did.

This could be perhaps, a possible explanation for those who survive the trauma of illness or life experiences. Not mystical voodoo, just all parts of ‘your being’ decided it can “fix” what needs to be fixed (remember we ‘mostly’ only use a small fraction of our brains total capability.

These are only my own personal thoughts being shared here, based on the history of my health but I’ve come to call this occurrence “The Alignment of our Being”. Usually we (Our conscious self) are at odds with one or more of these  interactive mental activities going on each day.

Memories, thoughts and actions center around those 4 centers of our being. If I look and feel 20 years younger, it’s because I sincerely feel 20 years younger and believe it, so my body does too, and acts on that belief. And of course it’s a no brainer that healthy living, lifestyle, and reducing the stress of the day just makes things even better.

So that’s it, give my  “Alignment of Being” idea some thought.

Waste Management Control – for good health … HUH?

Yes, – the truth!

The most efficient waste management system on the planet is our own body, until we mucky up the works with our current life style habits!

The most understood definition of waste management (in industry): The collection, transportation and disposal of garbage and waste products. This encompasses management of all processes and resources for proper handling of waste materials. This then is the everyday world of garbage collection and removal.

And this is also what our body does for us, 24 hours a day … if we let it.

The further we stray from providing what our body needs so it can take a raw product, turn it into fuel, and then discard what can’t be used, the further we are from optimal health.

Here’s another way to think about this. Right now. Take a cup of sugar and poor it into the gas tank of your car!engine  I can hear your thoughts. Are you kidding me? That would really mess up my cars ability to run! We do (most of us) maintain our mechanical transportation. So, why not the most important one?

The body is our own personal (one of a kind) biological vehicle that needs the same care and maintenance to effectively do it’s job. When the body can’t do it’s job of waste removal then negative things begin to happen:

The build up of cholesterol and calcium deposits; the breakdown of celluar structures into free radicals, plus the added complication of manufactured chemicals counterbalancing what we are either ingesting or reacting to (stress) create a weakness allowing disease to enter our body. The body can not protect itself from invaders, much less do it’s job of removing waste if we are overloading it everyday.

Just some food for thought. Do a little research, you might be surprised at a few simple things you can do to improve the maintenance of the most important form of transportation you have – your body! Your life may depend on it. Well, actually it does!

A toast … to your health!

and the research of it all!

Here’s the caveat! When I write about a nonfiction subject it is my opinion only. If I introduce anything to you that I perceive to be of potential and positive value, it is only an introduction and perhaps my thoughts on theresearch subject. I do have knowledge in several fields of endeavor, based on experience and education, but do not consider myself the definitive expert in any. Nor should you!!

Therefore take nothing for granted. If you find you are interested in anything on any subject that may be new to you – RESEARCH THIS FOR YOURSELF. Talk to an expert in the field of your interest. There is too much available data online today, some is not credible, some is a down right lie. And .. some is of great value. The purpose of research is to discover, on your own, to the best of your ability to do so, the true value of the thing you want to know more about. And when it comes to your health check with your doctor first before making any life altering changes!

Having said that, here’s to your health!

Live the day your in! (plan for tomorrow, but don’t bypass today because your too busy planning your future)!

antioxidantsMove – More and more professionals (in my opinion) are recognizing the dangers in the overuse of Statin (cholesterol reducing drugs). Exercise is an excellent and easy method to improve your cholestrol levels (here is one of those places for you to do your own research!)

Eat closer to nature (The more colorful the better for vitamins, minerals and – “phytonutrients”, yup go research the reasons why color is good in fruits and vegetables!) Also grain and natural sources of proteins. Definitely worth the research on each of these.

Always make time to share and give! Always – this is huge. Those who make a positive difference in the lives of others seem to live longer and are usually healthier and happier too!

Love and live life. Fill yourself up with the experience of it!

This is for Women…inner strength!

~

… We, women, assume multiple roles as adults today, some begin even younger, depending on the country lived in. We know this.

For whatever designated role(s) is/are assigned to us we know there will be more, as has been our understanding since…well since always … not a secret, just known, by us!

The things we do daily are often onerous and numerous. Still we go about our multitasking each day while a variety of situations rise up to interrupt and delay. It’s often exhausting.

This post is about outer awareness/inner strength.

The framework that we are encased in is our physical body. Within the body a chemical factory the goes with the flow of our being. We wake, we think, we do. The framework supports our actions. And…

There is a flow you can use to strengthen your ability to accomplish what you have set out to do for the day. I call it movement with a purpose.

Some time back I wrote about flow and movement but this post today is specific to women as I think we are (most of us) less aware of the importance of physical strength.

Again not so much about lifting weights (a good thing actually) or exercising (another good thing) but specifically how you move with your body each day and how your mind thinks as a result of this patterned movement.

The pictures above are just to illustrate the flow of strength and beauty in a movement. None of us looks or acts like a model or an actress. We are who we are. It is the attitude and body movements that convey not only an outer appearance of strength but also an inner feeling of same.

So here’s the lesson:

A simple one: When you move be aware of your body, carry yourself with a sense of purpose, feel your heartbeat and breath deeply and slowly to regulate it, the movement of your body will accompany this beat if you increase your awareness of it.

Hold your head erect. We are women and proud of this. When we walk with purpose, a sense to the day (the body recognizes this and passes the message along to all of it’s parts; increasing your inner strength and capability. Point in fact you will simply feel better for it. Give it a try ladies, works for me!
