An aspect of being … a human being!

contemplationIs it not fascinating that we, human beings, are gifted from birth with so many working processes and capabilities. Attributes (sensory, mental, physical and spiritual) enabling us to embrace, with a wonderful fullness, the miraculous mystery of life itself.

Instead, many human beings chose to view life (at a distance) making judgement calls through the limiting lens of insecurity and fear.

They see life’s inconsequentialities (now that’s a substantial word isn’t it, especially when it means something so very simple – “that which lacks importance”), but they/we leap upon these trivialities making of them meanings of importance, building upon our (and others) manufactured fears instead of nurturing truths that lay within and all around.

But there you have it, the nature of the human “being”. Are weexploring programmed to think so negatively, or has some portion of our “flight or fight” survival mechanism morphed it’s way into this state of being/existence.

I, for one find this a most undesirable trait and “state of existence” to live within.

May I recommend and strongly encourage you to consider a move – from this “state” of being to new territory. One that includes the richness of all that life has to offer. It’s out there, this vast unexplored (for many) territory of being. Yours for the asking, yours for the believing, yours for the doing.

Do not allow your mind to be “house bound” as the result of fears and misconceptions. Open yourself up and live. That is what life is all about, after all! But its still up to you to determine the aspect of your being, your choice – as always!

… In closing, beautiful and enabling words from a woman born without the attributes almost all of us take for granted; vision, hearing and for many years speech, yet she managed to overcome her adversities and indeed fully explored the richness of life itself. If she can do this, why can’t we?

Human Insecurity – Self correcting your self-doubt!

So where does one start?

insecure

Have you noticed that self-doubt is insidious, creeping in to infect you with an overwhelming sense of insecurity. And like an infection, once it has a good hold on you it can be hard to combat.

cultivateA few thoughts to consider as you gear up your personal armor to fight the disease of “Self Doubt”!

Cultivate the Compliments your receive. Have you ever noticed how good you feel when you receive an honest compliment from someone about something you’ve accomplished. Great feeling isn’t? You can’t help it, you just feel better about everything, including yourself (self-doubt retreats a little during those moments doesn’t it?) – Compliment in return. Look for people and things to be sincerely complimentary about. Like the ripple effect, it spreads and it also rebounds back to you in a positive way.

Approach the Issue (A lack of faith in yourself), from an outsider’s perspective. Be rational. By its very nature, making a judgement is usually an emotional call, a biased opinion, and most often incorrect when the one you’re judging is yourself.

Take yourself “out” of yourself. You are at the center of “the sphere of your own influence”!

share and care

Take yourself out of the sphere and then … influence others to increase their own self confidence. After all you know the symptoms of self doubt yourself. Who better to help those who also need a positive influence.

Go after your own personal “Self-worth” with determination! It’s inside you waiting to be discovered, explored, and celebrated. And how do you do that? By

  1. Cultivating the Compliments you receive.
  2. Approaching the Issue (A lack of faith in yourself), from an outsider’s perspective.
  3. Taking yourself “out” of yourself!
  4. Believing in “YOU”, after all …

… I do, why shouldn’t you?

Being an Artist … the good … the hard … the special!

file0002058071745Chances are if you’re reading this you’re an artist. With words, or with a camera, a brush, digital technology, the musical note, acting, singing, dancing, and/or with a hundred other creative endeavors.

You’re an artist and you “feel things” deeply inside! And you feel the need to express those feelings. At the same time you are not terribly good at expressing yourself when it comes to your talent, your artistry. And you are insecure about what people will say or think – but you still want to know, a dichotomy of wishes, dreams and desires. You really want others to know you and what you are doing. And often you wait for some one else to acknowledge your talent before you acknowledge it for yourself!

In the blogging world, don’t wait for someone to “find” you. Go find them first. Let them discover youh because you’ve given them a pathway to follow. The path is your comments in the comment section of their blog. You’ve read their words, viewed and listened to their talent and appreciated them.

In return they will come to check you out. You’re special and so are they. A mutual admiration society. And if they are too busy to follow you frequently than understand that too. It is a fact in the blogging world, some have more time than others.

Share your gift freely when you blog and embrace the talent being given by others! It works. It really does! Keep the specialness of you alive by sharing it with others.

I should know I’m an Artist too and feel the same way you do. Good luck,

~ Penny
