When Did It Become Okay?

image

When did it become okay to eat chemically processed food? Food that we know, for a fact is chemically processed, but oh so amazingly  convenient – a part of our modern addictive lifestyle and easily available with very little effort on our part.

What is food today in Consumer Land (you know – right here, right now)?

Food (a loose interpretation): Items bought packaged for longer shelf life in megastores and minimarts. Food bought at fast food locations. Food grown and sprayed with poisonous pesticides and processed using artificial methods and mutiple chemical additives for flavor enhancements and longevity.

When did it become okay to make money off of treating and healing sick people? Or worse, not seeing them at all if they haven’t got the right insurance.

When did it become okay to not be able to afford to take your animal to the vet? When did it become okay to buy products (almost everything) with built-in, short term obsolescence … guaranteeing you’ll buy the “new & improved” version?

Not only are too few of us not thinking about cause and effect, even more of us are not seeing beyond our nose, or should I say the view screen of our smartphones, tablets, computers, television, and so on. Not my opinion, just absolutely true facts!

“It saddens me when, as a race, we humans have been given so many advantages and yet our worst emotions still rule us.”~ Plh

Greed (now called profit margins & for us lesser folks, the constant seeking for a “better quality of life”)
Laziness (now called convenience)
Sloth (now called comfort)
Hatred (against anything and everything you don’t like or fear)

And so we’re left with our own personal rationales for why we do what we do, as we each (more or less) contribute to our downfall.

image

Wake up! Open your minds, your heart and your awareness. We can bring about dramatic improvements, if we want to, or continue to be harbingers of our eventual failure as a human race.

As always – our own individual choice to make.

Wisdom’s Inspiration – Quotes

image

Many of us never tire of reading and repeating famous quotes.

Quotes are inspirational, regardless of subject matter, but bottom line, the main reason we love famous quotes is because of nuggets of wisdom buried within the quoter’s words.

We absorb these quotes because at subliminal levels we feel a sense of purpose or well-being, perhaps love, happiness, hope, awareness, understanding, determination, sacrifice, illumination and yes maybe even the feeling that we’re in touch with – wisdom of the ages.

A wisdom we believe to be true and frequently are determined to incorporate into our own mindset…

Therefore there will always be room in our minds or our hearts for quotes:

“He wrapped himself in quotation as a beggar would enfold himself in the purple of Emperiors.” ~ Rudyard Kipling

I hope you’re having a happy and fulfilling weekend. I wish you well.

With affection,

Our Body’s Fluid Gyroscope – Balancing for Health!

file7681245497595

The fluid gyroscope of life!

Many of us are familiar with a gyroscope. A device that maintains orientation during motion. Mechanically it’s a spinning wheel or disk where the axle (center) is free to assume any orientation. The momentum of the wheel causes it to retain it’s position. Although the orientation does not stay the same, it changes according to a response from outside forces.

eafc_original_gyroscope

Not wanting to become more technical here using words like “torque”, rate of spin, and “moment of inertia” I think I only need to say the basics are clear. Although gyroscopes today are exceedingly sophisticated in usage, the idea remains the same. The control or balance of a thing.

We (humans) do have a type of liquid gyroscope built into our body for its health, but we don’t pay very much attention to its signals. Actually we don’t listen at all. We just go get a pill to fix things which is usually an artificial bandage on the real problem – being out of cynic with our bodies natural rhythm.

Within each of our human bodies are a multitude of fluids released during the course of the day. They assist the mind and the body in functioning properly. When the body is off balance (not doing okay) various types of chemicals will be released by the mind/body in an attempt to correct the problem.

These chemicals are reacting to outside forces (much as a gyroscope does) We feel the effects of these chemical releases; headache, a sore tummy, stiff muscles and joints, feeling weary; just to name a few. That is our human chemical gyroscope trying to adjust that which is off kilter.

The next time you’re not feeling well listen to your body, I’m guessing that, frequently, stress is going to be the leading factor causing the discomfort. If the stress is not released, or lessened we can and do end up very ill, many times fatally.

All because we aren’t listening to the fluid gyroscope in our body. Our body does want to fix itself and it can. But we need to do our part too.

Start making those changes today in your life style (small ones to begin with). Get enough rest, eat healthy and regularly. Drink lots of fluid. Exercise. Take time off from stressful jobs and or situations (This includes all the caregivers out there who care for loved ones.) Remember to have fun and so on.

Each of these can be accomplished even with an incredibly busy schedule … Make it so, you’re worth it!

The Rightness of Wrong

The Commercial Human

*

“When a thing is right for all the wrong reasons

then it is surely wrong for all the right reasons

 – and is there a difference in our natures,

we humans should be attending to?”

~ Penny L Howe, 2014

A great many words float about everywhere.

And photos and videos surely to spare.

quotes are abounding, good sayings so wise,

information is shared in all sorts of guise.

~

Then why am I troubled with all that there be,

Many bits and pieces – worrisome to me.

~

Too much, too much, my poor mind screams,

Can not take more – what does this mean?

It cannot be thought right to move at this pace,

We are advertising commercials filling all space.

~

Slow down, slow down, we really must pause,

For every effect, there is a cause.

I mean what I say but how can this be?

It’s easy of course, the blind cannot see.

Perhaps it is time to remove the artificial from our eyes and look to one another for that which is needed, so that all of life (including us) can survive and thrive!

The Rest of the Story – Earth for lunch!

We do so many things today where we don’t really think about the ‘why’ of it. We think about the ‘what for’ and ‘how come’, not so much the why or …

… the rest of the story.

Here’s an example: Why do so many people frequent fast food restaurants every day? They didn’t used to. Before life became so hectic and busy (at home) they’d eat almost all their meals there, including preparing lunches to take to school or work. It was just the way it was. Connecting with the family and helping out with the meal preparation. So you’re thinking to yourself, “Oh so that’s the reason why. We’ve gotten too busy. Picking up fast food is convenient.” Well yes and no. That’s just the first part of the story.

The rest of the story has to do with how we initially felt when we stopped in at a fast food restaurant. It was fun. No work involved. yummy fat laden richness wrapped up in a treat like environment. These sensations hitting all of our “feel good” places. It was affordable, quick and pleasurable. At some point these same feelings were passed on to the next generation. Simply stated it became addictive. An easy enjoyable treat … and ‘in our minds eye” a solution to a meal.

Now it has become a part of many millions of people’s life styles. They will tell you and themselves that it is because its convenient, cheap, fast and fun but truthfully, It’s because it’s easier and it definitely (the moment it hits our addictive “feel good” center) has become a way of life, starting as soon as we’re old enough to “get it”.

The sad part is, the food is heavily processed, so as a constant diet, a very bad idea. but even more importantly we need to grow or purchase, in a market, fresh food items (to reconnect ourselves, more closely, to our interactions with the natural part of the planet we live on). Our awareness and involvement of the ecosystems (of which we are a part) is increasingly missing. And we need this connection for our health and the planet’s health as well.

We may live longer, but I don’t think most of us are happier. Many (at a young age) suffer from a variety of health complaints that didn’t exist 50 years ago. Stress not withstanding, (as it is certainly the main “killer” in our over processed life), the food we eat, where it comes from, the processing of it and our own lack of personal hands on involvement is the continuing results of the “fast food” mentality …

*… and that’s the rest of the story.

(*if these words sound familiar to any of you it’s because a very famous American radio talk show host from the 1950’s to the `90’s Paul Harvey” used these lines … as a part of his commentary. They served him well, so I’m borrowing them now. They do help to make a point!)

Have an excellent labor day today if you live in the U.S.A and a great week ahead for my friends who’ve already started their new week in our global community,

Good Day!
