The Magical Wonderful You That You Are!

magicbelieving

Have you ever thought of yourself as magical? Go ahead, take a few minutes to do so.  You don’t know how? That’s okay, no worries.  I’ll show you. Right now take a little time and consider the possibilities, potentials and maybe’s in your life. Or go all out here, in the now of things, and dream. Dream big dreams. Use your imagination. It’s there for a purpose. Just imagine what might be.

I’m perfectly serious because I know locked inside each of us is the desire to make a difference for personal self fulfillment. We may not know exactly how to make this happen but we all feel this way.

You see, here’s the thing: As it turns out imagination is the first step in making something seemingly unbelievable (to you) or impossible happen. Yes, it is true. First something will occur within your immediate environment and/or you come up with this original idea or desire about doing something and before you know it you’re dreaming about the maybe of things. Of course, you’ve only to read about the myriad of people who went on to become famous by first thinking a thought or idea and then imagining what it could do or what they could be if they pursued it. Which they did, because they became motivated to do so.

“So if dreamer’s dream and doer’s do

There’s nothing to stop the magic of you.” ~Plh

But why do I refer to your capabilities as magical? Well, it’s because in the normal course of things most of us spend too much time quantifying our limitations. Determining what we can’t do and internally listing all those reasons why. And then we go further and sometimes hard wire our belief in self (or lack thereof) to our psychi – the center of thought, feeling and motivation – at which point we find ourselves in a perpetual state of uncertainty. Our motivation is frozen from self induced doubt.

Meanwhile, if  we think in terms of magic or the mystical power of influencing the course of events by some unknown method, and believe it to be so, why then, the magic existing inside of you (an untapped power of capability)  can and will bypass the negativity you’ve amassed. And just so you know, you have unlimited resources when it comes to dreaming, imagining and then cleverly figuring out a way to make your dreams come true. And … when all is said and done I, for one, consider that pretty amazingly magical.

Have you used your magic capabilities today? Make it so. Dismiss the doubts. After all, the wonderful you that you are – is magical.

The Little Child Inside Of Me

imag1318-1-1

The little child inside me believes in fairies and dragons

and all manner of wondrous things that fly through the sky.

The little child inside me believes I am as brave as a warrior

and can stand up to the mightiest beast and win.

The little child inside me believes that all my tomorrows

will be filled with goodness and happiness.

The little child inside me smiles most frequently

And loves most deeply!

The Lens we view from

The little child inside me believes that all the people she meets

will be enchanted with love in their hearts.

The little child inside me believes rainbows are the true colors of our being –

radiant with all shades for all people and living things.

The little child inside me believes in magic.

strengthofwoman

The grown-up me occasionally thinks about magic, fairies and dragons

but forgets how real they can be, consigning them to an imaginary place.

The grown-up me wants to keep believing and being brave,

but has found life sometimes so scary she forgets how to be brave.

The grown-up me worries about tomorrow

and forgets to remember it can be filled with happiness.

The grown-up me has met many people

and sometimes forgets to remind herself that there is love in their hearts too.

IMAG3488-1-1

The grown-up me still sees rainbows and stars shining in the skies above, but lately sometimes doesn’t see that all the colors are still beautiful and all the stars still shine as brightly as ever.

The little child inside of me reminds the grown-up me of what she believes in her heart.

The grown-up me hopes she will not forget and will continue to believe

in the little child inside me.

Sunday Photo Fiction – A Beaker of Magic Passion!

Too too long since I have written flash fiction for Al’s wonderful Sunday Photo Fiction, click here for more information on how to enter your own short short story based on the photo (around 200 words) or to read some of the other delightful entries. Thanks Al.

To me the object in the photo looked like a beaker, the lights at the bottom a little bit like magic, so I wrote accordingly:

A Beaker of Magic Passion

“As you can see,” she whispered seductively, “I hold in my hand a beaker of passionate magic. It is up to you to decide what’s to be done with it.”

He scoffed. “More likely a beaker filled with your overactive imagination.”

“Perhaps, as you say, it is a beaker of imagination. Yet I have found imagination to be closely related to the nature of passions in one’s life!” She responded with a sweet smile.

“You speak nonsense.” He said.

The smile remained on her face although there was a strained quality to it. “It is nonsense only in this reality that you currently endorse as your life. But there are many realities and in mine, the beaker I have is filled with passionate magic. What do you wish me to do with it?”

His caustic laughter most unpleasant and dismissive with intent. “Do with it as you wish, my love. As you wish. I care not for your silliness. I shall go about my day doing precisely as I desire – without need for any mythological magic.”

Removing the stopper from it’s container, her smile became sad as she spoke. “I will do as you have requested. I wish for my own passionate love of you to be transferred to someone who loves and respects me believing that all things are possible if you believe they are.”

A moment later she vanished. He never saw her again, but over the years in his loneliness he often thought he could hear her gentle happy laughter echoing in the reality of the empty chambers of his heart.

But of course he knew it was only his imagination!

“New” and what it does for you!

Nothing new under the sun or

… is there?

When you’re a child everything is new. Everything. And sparkling eyes look out at the world with wonder. It’s a new place filled with mystery and adventure and magic. Especially magic. All new and wonderful!

And then we grow up and life gets more serious; for some, sooner than for others, wonderment begins to fade until it does seem like there’s nothing new under the sun. But this isn’t true, not really.

Each day you awaken to a NEW day and a new you. And each thought you have (while others may have had it also) it’s a new thought for you. In this new year, how about bringing back some of the magic and wonder into your life? Throw out cynicism and lack of faith. Begin by believing in yourself and what you can do to improve things.

It is a new year and a new day. How about this new you waiting inside? How about a new attitude ~ One filled with gratitude, joy, laughter, lots of love and lots and lots of creativity and magic (those two go together)! Come on, you can do it.

Lets make it happen,

~ Penny

Believe in the magic of life – it’s in the air, can you feel it?

Christmas tree magic

Magic is everywhere.

You just have to look for it.

In this country during the holiday season its easy to go to a magical place with all of the glittering Christmas lights everywhere. But it’s more than that, there is a special something in the air.

I feel so lucky when I wake up early in the morning and revel in the golden rays of sunshine coming up over the horizon. There’s magic in each of the changes2013-12-11 12.38.33 of the seasons, tree’s blossoming in the spring or snowflakes falling all around a white wintery landscape.

Look for the magic in your life. Better yet go capture some today. Put it into your life and the lives of others …

With generosity, with loving, with giving, with sharing with rejoicing, with laughter, with singing … with being alive and happy. All of it is Magical … if you want it to be.

I hope your holiday season is being as magical as you would wish for!

Thanks for your visit, take care of you,

~ Penny

The Nature of Magic or How about just “Nature’s Magic”!

value

~

Magic the word, can conjure up abracadabras and all types of mystical references, and it frequently does when one hears it spoken. But there’s another type of magic. My favorite kind. It’s what Nature seems to achieve, every day in millions, billions of ways on the planet Earth.

As I mentioned ~ magical!

I never tire of viewing Nature’s magic. It never disappoints and I’m constantly rediscovering all the beauty that is ours free for the viewing. And to me this is indeed magic. Nature’s magic!

Have a great day today, enjoy Nature’s magic, as you can, be safe and take care of you,

Haibun Thinking – Alchemy the Mysterious!

victoria-frances-alchemy

Alchemy, The Mysterious

The nature of alchemy is magical and mysterious, a seemingly miracle process of transformation, creation, or combination. I do admit to a fascination of the unknown and alchemy does seem to have been a mystical approach to science. Those who believe in alchemy, the philosophers stone, etc. also believe in magic, sorcery and witchcraft as part of the whole and who am I to say other.

Alchemy, a.k.a the pseudoscientific predecessor of chemistry, was a medieval philosophy. An early form of chemistry whose goals were transmutation of base metals into gold, discovery of a cure for diseases, and the illusive elixir that would give eternal youth.

What I find fascinating is we can now (rather expensively) change base metals into gold, have found cures for many diseases and are actively working towards extending (in a healthy way) our lives. All through scientific chemistry. So perhaps these early philosophers and imaginative scientists so ridiculed were really just ahead of their time and I think perhaps all magic coming from our imagination is simply, as yet, unproven science!

“I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.” ~ Albert Einstein

I … in my aloneness – reach for the event horizon!

IMAG3981-1

For those of us solitary souls, we often find ourselves reaching inward, into the unknown. Not for respite, nor solace but for the unraveling of mysteries.

And when the magic of who I am encounters an unknown, there is a blossoming in the moment.

An event horizon. Not for an ending, but a beginning of the “new” – for further exploration.

… And I revel, finding myself in that moment, most gratified to be … me!

Wishing you a magical and wonderful day and an even better tomorrow!

No limitations ! Bring all your dreams to life – when you believe in magic!

??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????Magic

Ever noticed from the time we’re old enough to understand words and their meanings ‘others’ have felt the need to point out our limitations. What’s wrong with us. Why we can’t do something.

In fact, we are often reminded so frequently of our supposed shortcomings, we begin to believe it ourselves. So we grow up and when we’re told we can’t do something – why YOU or I can’t make it happen – many of us give up. We STOP believing in our dreams, ideas and goals.

There are no limitations when you believe in magic. When your imagination is free to roam to unknown vistas – it will soar. ‘They’ are mistaken when they tell you what you can’t do, can’t achieve, can’t become.

Believe, really believe, it will happen. The magic awakens within you when you do. And then the most amazing things will begin to happen.

There need be no limitations, most especially the self-imposed limitations where You doubt yourself. When you begin to believe you can do it (make your dreams come true) something wonderfully magical and freeing begins to take shape and the more you believe in you, the greater the magic. There’s an awesome delicious feeling that will catch hold of your spirit and propel you forward.

Try it! Believe in magic (that undefinable wonderful unknown “something” we all possess)! It begins when you start believing in yourself. All things are possible when you do. And then hold on tight to your dream, never let it go. The magic will happen, you’ll see.

And as for myself … well … I’ll be right here saying “I told you so” when your magic happens because not only do I believe in magic but more importantly, I believe in you. The ‘you’ deep inside, the ‘you’ with so much potential just waiting to burst out, and that, my friends is magical! As are we all!

I believe

With much affection,

~ Penny

Forever … and a day!

sharing your dreams

Forever

If I were to ask you is there really a forever …?

Would you think about it? Would you dismiss it as just a silly question with no definitive answer?

It is one of those pondering type of questions I think. I’m guessing most of us would put the word “forever” in a category of  “a real long time plus a little longer where we can’t see the end” sort of understanding.

But just pretend for a minute that your mind can stretch itself out to eternity and travel …”to infinity and beyond… where would it go and what would you see and experience? If you are seriously thinking about this then you are using the finest mode of transportation you have. Your IMAGINATION.

Forever and a Day

I think forever will always be

So the quest I do instead,

Is what I’d do with the extra day

Explore or stay  ‘abed

Whispering breezes far afield

Twinkling star lit night,

worlds without end cannot be seen

the vistas out of sight

dewdrops in the morning

mother nature’s misty breath

I wonder, dream, imagine

The question … says Hamlet!

~

Visualizing the “forever” of things can be a difficult.

How wonderful for us that we each possess the greatest method of visualizing ever. Our Imagination.

Imagine Forever …

The perfect vehicle for exploring your thoughts about things – like the question of forever. Take yours for a spin today, because like all good things, use it or you’ll lose it!

Explore your imagination!
