Our Body’s Fluid Gyroscope – Balancing for Health!

file7681245497595

The fluid gyroscope of life!

Many of us are familiar with a gyroscope. A device that maintains orientation during motion. Mechanically it’s a spinning wheel or disk where the axle (center) is free to assume any orientation. The momentum of the wheel causes it to retain it’s position. Although the orientation does not stay the same, it changes according to a response from outside forces.

Not wanting to become more technical here using words like “torque”, rate of spin, and “moment of inertia” I think I only need to say the basics are clear. Although gyroscopes today are exceedingly sophisticated in usage, the idea remains the same. The control or balance of a thing.

We (humans) do have a type of liquid gyroscope built into our body for its health, but we don’t pay very much attention to its signals. Actually we don’t listen at all. We just go get a pill to fix things which is usually an artificial bandage on the real problem – being out of cynic with our bodies natural rhythm.

Within each of our human bodies are a multitude of fluids released during the course of the day. They assist the mind and the body in functioning properly. When the body is off balance (not doing okay) various types of chemicals will be released by the mind/body in an attempt to correct the problem.

These chemicals are reacting to outside forces (much as a gyroscope does) We feel the effects of these chemical releases; headache, a sore tummy, stiff muscles and joints, feeling weary; just to name a few. That is our human chemical gyroscope trying to adjust that which is off kilter.

The next time you’re not feeling well listen to your body, I’m guessing that, frequently, stress is going to be the leading factor causing the discomfort. If the stress is not released, or lessened we can and do end up very ill, many times fatally.

All because we aren’t listening to the fluid gyroscope in our body. Our body does want to fix itself and it can. But we need to do our part too.

Start making those changes today in your life style (small ones to begin with). Get enough rest, eat healthy and regularly. Drink lots of fluid. Exercise. Take time off from stressful jobs and or situations (This includes all the caregivers out there who care for loved ones.) Remember to have fun and so on.

Each of these can be accomplished even with an incredibly busy schedule … Make it so, you’re worth it!

The Amazing “Presence” of Being (you)!

Believeinyou

*

Do you believe in yourself. I mean … really?

I think you’re pretty familiar with your values, hopes and dreams … and know (mostly) what those are. But what about your strengths? The things you do on a regular basis to shore up weak areas within yourself.

Do you feel a sense of accomplishment? Are you proud of this? I’m not talking about (big headed) ego here, just having a really nice feeling because you’ve achieved or completed that which you set out to do … That you overcame obstacles. …That you tackled hard problems … That you successfully faced adversity … That you conquered fears.

Notice the singular thread of what I’ve been saying. I’m speaking specifically about you and your individual strengths. And while it is a wonderful thing to have others support you, it is just as important for a belief in yourself. That you are capable of solving problems, and in setting and reaching new goals!

If you’ve determined you don’t have the strength or “power” to achieve for yourself, I’d like you to know that deep inside of you … YOU DO! It’s inside, perhaps buried at the moment, hidden midst insecurities and what you’ve decided are failures but it’s there, waiting for a signal from you. You are stronger than you can possibly imagine. And perhaps imagination might be a good thing here. It worked for Einstein and Disney pretty darn well, according to them.

Start today. It’s a good day for really believing in yourself. And …

… think about this. Your “Presence” of being YOU glows when you achieve. It’s noticed by others, and the really cool thing is you’ll notice it too!

Time to start glowing.

The Wisdom of Yesterday – Lost or just forgotten?

yesterday

*

“Yesterday is many things, a memory, a part of our journey, a learned lesson.

But the one thing it should never be … forgotten!” ~ Penny

*

The technology of today is exciting, and no doubt it will be even more exciting tomorrow.

But today I’d like to briefly mention the very transitory period of time in which we (you and I) will be here. So to what purpose do we allow inundation of  newness? It is one thing to improve communication and other technological marvels, quite another to become so immersed within it, that the focus of reality is pitched into virtuality and the next “new thing”.

And I might add at considerable expense in terms of quality of life in our “real world” (you know the one removed from artificial things – if that’s even possible). Health, relationships, values, ecology, life on this planet – all these and more are taking a beating here.

The future looks good only if we do pay attention to the wisdom of yesterday. Lots of beautiful quotes out there in multimedia land, wise words from the past, but again to what purpose if they’re just pretty words reflected upon in the moment.

Turn off your electronic devices for a portion of each day. Focus on things happening in your immediate vicinity.

See … really see … your today, unfettered by online influences. Decide how you can change your life and others for the better.

Your today will soon be yesterday, and we don’t want it to be forgotten!

With much affection to you,

~ Penny

Drops of Pure Water

Drop of Water

*

Drops of pure water

to succor and secure life

plus many drops more

*

A few words, a haiku, to illustrate the importance of pure clear water in our lives. I humbly suggest “we” make reasonable changes in our personal lives to help insure the well being of a fresh water supply for our future. Something we can take a positive hand in, beginning in our home and work place.

Thank you,

Calling on Hope … or perhaps Hope calls on you!

Weariness can bring it’s own sort of distress.

when my heart gets weary

and I cannot seem to breath

my soul whispers hope

*

It’s inside your heart, you know. The determination and ability you need to carry on. In spite of fatigue, weariness and the feeling of being completely overwhelmed with life. Your life, in particular.

Look inward. It’s there. It’s been there in the past and it’ll be there again. Waiting to shore you up, strengthen your resolve and assist you with some common sense problem solving and solutions, so life doesn’t seem so out of control.

Good Luck, I know you can do this. After all it’s a good thing for you … to take care of you!

With affection,

Elusive Happiness – or located in your heart right now …

… just waiting to come out!

holidayhappiness

How many times do we say or hear the words “I’m just not happy?” Frequently! And yet happiness is only elusive when we dwell on it (or our perception of the lack of it). The state of happiness is an emotional feeling. Not a place. Or if it does dwell in a place it’s in your mind, your thoughts and of course your heart. This means you’re in control (if you want to be)!

When actively involved and engaged in life, happiness becomes part of what we experience, some days more than others, but always with the potential of occurring because we’re busy … living and loving with our lives to the fullest!

Share your love, especially at this time of year. Share your time with others. Give freely, you will find your heart filling with joy, as you do all these things.

And most of all be grateful for what you have.

snowylove

Hope your having a warm, loving and happy holiday season. If you’re not, get out there and start living – it’ll happen to you too!

~ With great affection,

Penny

Believe in the magic of life – it’s in the air, can you feel it?

Christmas tree magic

Magic is everywhere.

You just have to look for it.

In this country during the holiday season its easy to go to a magical place with all of the glittering Christmas lights everywhere. But it’s more than that, there is a special something in the air.

I feel so lucky when I wake up early in the morning and revel in the golden rays of sunshine coming up over the horizon. There’s magic in each of the changes2013-12-11 12.38.33 of the seasons, tree’s blossoming in the spring or snowflakes falling all around a white wintery landscape.

Look for the magic in your life. Better yet go capture some today. Put it into your life and the lives of others …

With generosity, with loving, with giving, with sharing with rejoicing, with laughter, with singing … with being alive and happy. All of it is Magical … if you want it to be.

I hope your holiday season is being as magical as you would wish for!

Thanks for your visit, take care of you,

~ Penny

ONE

One is the “one” number in our counting system we use in a wide variety of creative and inventive styles when referring to ourselves or others in the “emotional sense” of things!

.

~

We refer to  “the one and only” or a “singular individual”, or “you are number one in my book” These meanings when personalized become ripe with potential raw emotions from our very inventive imaginations.

And we view ourselves as singular. I am one person and you are one person. We tend to wrap our emotions around a theme of “oneness” in a very inward and selfish way too frequently. (we all do – without exception here.)

The word one, when it has to do with humanity is important. In my future world “one” will unify, encompassing everyone, no exclusions. Time will then be better spent on solving the problems of one people, one planet and so on.

One can also refer to an individual feeling alone. Apart from the rest – lonely. A very sad place to be. And yet each of us have occasions where we live in the land of the lonely. Hopefully for only a short duration. Life is rich with the potential for each ‘one’ person to love many others and more importantly, themselves.

~

 ~

Hard not to go to an emotional place with that song. In summation, numbers are a science to be utilized best by mathematicians, but mathematicians are people too, so I’m thinking emotions will always reign supreme in the whole scheme of things.

Make the number one, a wonderful one today – you and all those around you. Make one – count for something!

Throwback Thursday – Bruce Lee, flow … be water!

Bruce Lee

Bruce Lee’s birthday is in 7 days. He was born on November 27th, 1940. Yes, he was/is one of my life heroes. I wrote of him awhile back. Crafting Your Own Style, referring to his style or “flow of movement”!

His philosophy of life as it relates to the discipline of martial arts is indisputable, as was his skill. The following clip, very short (30 seconds), is indicative of this life philosophy. That is Bruce Lee speaking!

Thanks you for stopping by today, and go with the flow!
