A Mother’s Love

The distinction of being a mother, understood by almost every single female on this planet, is to be fore-sworn as needs be, in the protection of her children! She will stand strong with this understanding, as necessary, on this battling planet called Earth!

She will stand alone, if she must. But she will stand and if she is struck down then another female will come to take her place. She is a female and a mother and when none other will do – she will insure that … life goes on!

This week’s Haibun Thinking Writer’s Challenge is the writing of haibun using a photo or a drawing as the prompt. I have chosen the beautiful drawing by Anja for my prompt. This was probably the easiest haibun I have ever written because as a mother, who loved her mother and so forth and so on, I know the truth of the words I write (as it is found repeatedly in history and today around the planet).

For more information about how you can be a part of this weekly writers challenge click HERE! Join in! Try your hand at haibun writing. I know a few of you writers out there and I think you’d be great at this style of writing!

Hoping everyone’s week is proceeding in a positive manner, take care of you,

What does it say when … (the truth about cruelty to women)!

Credit line: © Tinalau | Dreamstime.com

Did you know that over half of the people on the planet are female? Did you know that almost every single child (both male and female) born from a woman, experiences their first sense of being loved from a woman? Did you know that the far majority of women on the planet are nurturers who care for and nourish the growth and development of their own children, their siblings, their partners in life and later on, their aging parents?

Did you know that most women will stand up and fight when their family’s well-being is threatened? Did you know that in more and more countries women are better educated and making a greater difference, not just at home but in the community and far beyond?

Did you know there are more images of the “beauty” of women than any other, on the planet? Did you know that some of the most beautiful and enduring poems and stories ever written – have been written about the love for a woman?

SO WHAT DOES IT SAY ABOUT OUR HUMAN SPECIES … when (according to the most recent statistics from all countries on the planet – including the “free” and progressive USA – currently trying to take away some of a woman’s rights) so what does it say when BRUTAL VIOLATIONS AGAINST WOMEN are the most ignored, tolerated and dismissed in our justice system) of any crime on our planet? (And most domestic violent cases go unreported for the same reasons)!

What does it say?

And I guess for me, my main question is, “where, do we … (Parents, Grandparents, Brothers and Sisters, Family members, Friends, Associates, Fellow humans) … where, do we tell growing young girls they can go to be protected (from violence directed “specifically at them” because they are “females”) in life, when it’s not their home, their community or their country? Where?

….

My personal plea to you –

“There is no justifiable excuse for cruelty – None!” – PLH

“Is it perhaps time for the “silent majority” to do something about this – NOW! And do you really care enough about your Mother, Sister, Family member, Friend, Any female, to really make a difference? Or are you going to let this continue! Because it’s getting worse – guys, a whole lot worse!

And bottom Line – what does this say … about us!

This is for the Women out there – Every Single One Of You!

Don’t give me the numbers of your age!

Tell me what you’re doing with them!

If you’re a female, in many countries you live longer, are happier, better educated – in spite of having to work harder, multi-task between work and home … and pretty much have fought every inch of the way and are still fighting to have equal rights! (What’s up with that anyway? Can’t you guys figure it out!)

WELL, Cher says it all! And her age numbers 67 years!

And She has the right of it! We’re strong! Strong enough to rise above … as we’ve proven again and again and will keep on … until there are no barriers left!

Lullaby of Hope and Love (for my friends)

you are loved

~

love's lullaby

Love’s Lullaby

Just as a mother feels the beat of unborn child
I feel the rhythm from your heart ~ you are loved.

The music of you heartbeat so piercing and so sweet
you are special and unique and ~ you are loved.

Yes there are those bad days, bad times,
(hard, hard, hard ones too),
but, hush now, hush now, do not cry ~ you are loved.

I sing for you a heart song to nourish you within
You are safe, and you are cherished ~ you are loved.

Let my strength pick up your spirits
carry you along.
You aren’t alone, you aren’t forgotten ~ you are loved.

 You my friend so beautiful
I sing to let you know.
Do not be sad, I’m here for you ~ you are loved.

“On those loneliest days when you feel such despair
Reach out your hand, a friend will be there!”

Being Female- A woman of the Earth

I was born a female of the species that scientist’s refer to as Homo sapiens – that’s us (people). It is estimated that roughly half of the population of people who reside on our planet are female.

Today I’m celebrating all that we are – we the women of the earth. As mothers, it is one of the very earliest things that all humans understand about women. Within a female womb the nourishing and growth of both males and females begins.

However, I strongly believe that being a mother is not what shapes women into who they are, but rather it is the very nature of how women think and feel that shapes the mothers they will become.

Most women are gentle, caring and nurturing but we are so much more than that. When people typecast us (females) into only the “mother” role they forget all the other attributes we so richly possess.

Like men we too are thinkers and doers and as responsible as they for the shaping of civilization. Today more than ever we are taking an ever increasingly active role in this, life’s great adventure.

So to every female on the planet – I applaud you all. For being brave, for being strong, for taking risks, for overcoming, repeatedly adversity, for continuing to fight for our right to be seen as equal to, for believing in ourselves and having the ability to be who we want to be, and for making, repeatedly an amazing difference on this planet we reside on. A woman in the very true sense and meaning of the word.

Today is Amelia Earhart’s birthday, I join in celebrating the spirit, vivacity and determination she displayed during the course of her amazing life. She is only one of many who have helped women realize what each of us are capable.

A few words in closing from a song by Helen Redding …”I am woman watch me grow, see me standing toe to toe as I spread my lovin’ hands across the land, but I’m still an embyro with a long, long way to go until I make my brother understand”…So way to go Amelia! Way to go – all the rest of us females, we can do this. We are doing this! Isn’t it wonderful. Celebrate today, being a woman.

Be sure and click on the BELONG tab at the top of this page and see the new award I was nominated for and those who nominated me – you’ll find out more about who I am. (if you’re interested.) Have an exceptionally great day today!
