Why … We Go On.

It’s really about self motivation when it comes right down to the carrying on of things when others all around are retreating, laying blame or quitting.

Tenacity is a good word. It means never giving in or up. It means going that extra mile when it appears all is going against you.

We can hold within our hearts excellent hopes and dreams for our futures (an important thing to do, absolutely) but beyond this, it is a “forged in fire, keep on keeping on”attitude of unrelenting determination that will get the job done.

And even more important is recognizing that with self reliance and self motivation for your own personal goals you become a torch bearer for others. Lifting up their spirits, letting them know all things are still possible, giving them something to believe in, not just you but themselves as well.

It’s called leading by example when you go on while others are feeling too tired, fearful or worried.

Know then that the feeling of helpless hopelessness cannot survive in an atmosphere of loving strength and peaceful perseverance, it just can’t! Which is why … We Go On!

Take care of you,

With much affection,

Determined and Persistent!

Bald Eagle

How’s your persistence or determination for getting things done? Out of a scale of 1 to 10 where do you think you’d rate your ability to keep on, keeping on, in spite of what comes your way?

In case you didn’t know, the importance of persistence is HUGE. Almost every single successful person has learned this. They just don’t stop until they reach their goal.

The truth is it was not talent, nor education, nor intelligence that made the big difference. It was … never giving up!

 Persistence

I worry not for little things that interfere with what I do.

I worry not for larger things that slow me down for just a few.

I worry not for largest things that may stop me and impede.

I’ll keep on in spite of fears, I will not stop, I will succeed.

Do You Believe In You … Well you should!

This isn’t about faith or spirituality. It’s about your human spirit buried deep inside, just waiting to be recognized.

In life there are many reasons to keep going, to make a difference, to be successful, to hope and care, but they all pale besides the most obvious reason of all …

… you must believe in “Self”  first. Really believe that you have a personal worth, a value in and of itself.

The starting point from which you grow.

Without recognizing your own singular value as a human being, it is guaranteed that the roads you travel will be less smooth, the terrain much rockier, the slopes much steeper.

But, when you believe in you, you become a guide for yourself

  • you can plan for a better day, a better outcome.
  • you gain strength, acquiring fortitude to help face life’s hard challenges. It doesn’t give you more capability, but will endow you with added courage when needed.
  • you hold the fundamental key, the most important belief you can have as an essential, living and functioning human being – that of your own unique value and worth.

It’s not easy. It does seem that too often, we make mistakes, fail, hesitate, choose poorly and so forth. These are life experiences – better known as life’s learning lessons because we do learn through our errors. The thing to remember is to have the courage to get up and keep going.

And …

trust me on this one …

it’s a lot easier to get back up when you believe you can do it!

Take it from one who knows,

Opening Doors to Success! Your Self Determination!

By Seemann

Who knew “opening doors” could be so difficult? What doors are you trying to open? The one to help you feel better about yourself? Or perhaps a better home for you and your family? Those would be the doors of self determination! A better job, or career … looks like you’re still at the door of self-determination. Your own business? Self determination! Making positive things happen for yourself and others? Yes, still the same door of self determination!

Do you notice a theme going on here? The secret to opening doors that will lead you to your success in bringing about the changes you desire – is to tell yourself you can do it. And then make it happen through repeated persistence, cultivating a – never give up, some way – some how, attitude!

Is it easy? Of course not! Nothing worthwhile comes easy. Self determination doesn’t just happen. There’s more than just a bit of work required. Is it doable? Yes – if you think  you can (and you can)! Is it worth it? Absolutely!

When opportunity knocks at your door,

remember you’re the one who needs to open it!”

Thanks for your visit today. In the coming weeks I’ll be sharing a few specific “how-to’s” on what and how you can achieve a strong self determining attitude. In the meantime, Remember to keep taking care of you. If you don’t secure your own health and well-being first, anything you are striving towards becomes much more difficult.

Failure – What it is and isn’t!

What is failure? Apart from a word none of us like hearing or thinking about!

Failure: The condition or fact of not achieving the desired end or ends!

Well okay, that doesn’t sound so bad. But it’s how we feel about it that can create havoc with our lives. Not the act of failing in and of itself.

I failed in my first business (financially a huge mess). When I mentioned this to another entrepreneur, at the time, he said to me, “you didn’t fail“!

And I said, “Well if you don’t count closing your business doors, owing a ton of money to a lot of people a failure … what do you call it?”

And he said, “Taking risks while you learn how to do something the right way.” Just so you know, at the time I strongly disagreed with him. I was the one that had to figure out what to do next. I was a single parent with no income, ruined credit and lots of bills to pay.

But guess what? he was right. When I creatively (and hurriedly) came up with a short term financial solution (got a job), spoke with each of the creditors and made the best arrangements I could at the time (and asked for short term help from my family – that was the hardest thing of all!) I got by.

Within a year. I had put together another proposal, went after more financing and was in business again.

So I advise you to look carefully at the actual meaning of the word failure. Because it isn’t the end of everything. That only happens when you give up. As long as you keep trying, you haven’t failed at all, you’re still in your learning curve!

“Consider failure as a temporary setback,
the price you pay to learn until you get it right!”

YES, I Can … and so can you!

Yes I Can

*Somebody said “you won’t make it”
but I simply said  “yes I can”
Somebody said “you can’t do that”
but I simply said  “yes I can.”
*
In spite of the naysayers and cannots,
I still persevered through it all
And when they knew I would fall
And not get up at all
I said, “yes I can” and stood tall.
*
I don’t want to hear what I can’t do
Don’t keep telling me that I will fail
don’t tell me what’s wrong
all the day long
Because I will stay strong and prevail.
*
Yes I can are the words to survival
I keep repeating them over again
Because I know if I do
it will turn out to be true
“Yes I can , yes I can, yes I can!”
(And so can you!)

The Entrepreneurial Spirit – Key to success!

A while ago I wrote a piece about being an entrepreneur. Today I’d like to include the most important ingredient for (successfully) owning your own business. But first ,,,

step by step

The meaning of an entrepreneur:

entrepreneur: One who owns (or is in the process of owning/operating) a business enterprise – selling a product or service (always with an accompanying degree of risk!).

~

While the meaning above is certainly true, there is a bigger truth!

An important part of being an entrepreneur is about having an ‘entrepreneurial spirit’! In too many cases this turns out to be the determining factor as to whether or not a business venture makes it or fails.

step by stepWhat is an entrepreneurial spirit? It’s a feeling, a driving ambition, a burning desire to be successful. In a word – The passion of the thing!

Without a doubt passion is the motivation that often makes the telling difference.

In the course of my marketing career I’ve met a handful of highly successful entrepreneurs.

Without exception the one thing they all shared was this huge desire to make it happen. A ‘never give up’ attitude. An understanding that there will always be “financial risks” involved, but the desire to have a successful enterprise is greater than the fear of taking the risk.

~

So the key word in this article today is PASSION!

~

If your strongest desire is to become an entrepreneur and you are committed to making that happen – then youPASSION are one. If you are determined to be successful in your enterprise (regardless of obstacles) you are an entrepreneur.

And if you’re willing to learn well and apply what you need to know, while you never stop working towards your dream, then YOU are not only an entrepreneur but you have an excellent chance of becoming a successful one!

Just remember, it’s the passion of it all! That’s the stuff successful dreams are made of!

Good luck on your venture, thanks for stopping by,

It’s Your Life – Own It!

It is your life. You are the one that breathes in and out of your body every day. You are the one who should be choosing what you plan to do with it, or are doing with it. Are you?

In the following movie clip from Aliens the heroine “Ripley” definitely encounters more things than we can ever imagine having to cope with in our lives.

But there is a point here. When something needs to be done. She does it. She makes the decision she needs to make and makes them count! It’s worth a reminder.

We may not be facing aliens but every day we face all sorts of things to be dealt with. Our choices, our life. Decide and then make it happen. It is your life, go for it!

In the mean time enjoy probably the greatest sci-fi heroine ever! And yes, she definitely owns her life!
