International Women’s Day – March 8th, 2014

Depending on where you live in the world it is already International Women’s Day. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this celebration, allow me to share some information about this day.

While there have been various Women’s Day Celebrations in different parts of the world historically, it was in 1977 that the U.N. (United Nations) invited members to proclaim March 8th as the U.N. day for Women’s Rights and World Peace. Many countries now actively celebrate this day.

For both men and women this is an important day to note. We humans, of this planet Earth, cannot move forward without all of us working towards a goal of harmony, peace and growth for ourselves and our planet.

International Women’s Day is about encouraging the freedom and rights all women are entitled to and deserve.

I cannot emphasize enough the huge importance of increasing awareness of this day and it’s purpose. It is through continuing support and education that many of the freedoms now occurring for women on our planet, in many countries, will continue to thrive for everyone’s future. It is through a sense of purpose, drive and determination that these most excellent goals can be achieved.

Never ever forget – We’re worth the extra effort needed so that all women can be free to be all that we can be!

Do you love me, yes or no?

Some questions are more important than others. I’m sure you’ve noticed this in life.

When my daughter was old enough to write sentences, (about 4 – she was in the first grade when she was 5). Whenever she thought she might be or did get into trouble I would find a folded up piece of paper with the same question on it.

There were always two boxes that she would add and I always had the choice of putting an “x” in either box.

Of course I always marked the ‘yes’ box. These notes continued until her teens at which point she determined my love was “unconditional” for the rest of our lives. Of course.

My point here “Unconditional Love” is so incredibly important in life. You see, it’s that other box and the potential of a “no” that can be so frightening for a child. Love should never be used as a leverage point. There should be no doubt!

And yes, as an adult loving unconditionally, does lay you open for potential hurt, but it is still the only way that love should be given – unconditionally. Life is too special for any other answer!
