In Pursuit of Elusive Motivation

If you are attempting to increase your motivation for accomplishing a thing but feel stymied on how to make this happen, then consider the following:

A passionate determination is the true starting point for enabling the release of one’s emotional persistence. Persistence, in turn, opens the (often too tightly closed) gateway into core inner strengths (energy).

We become stronger and more capable (in effect more motivated) for dispelling personal fears –  facing down and overcoming obstacles that frequently occur during our pursuit of goals. The message here is very clear – be passionate. Be passionate with your creative endeavors. Be passionate with your beliefs and most importantly, your belief of self.

You can do this! Yes. You. Can.

You Promised Me This …

image

Unspoken it’s true
Yet you promised me this:
With our last kiss
one shared with bliss.

With final embrace
that’ll never erase
your gentle caress
of finest finesse.

Promising truly
a shining sublime
of, lasting always,
a love so divine.

Never ever to be
feeling bereft
and though I still cry
I now know why
… you left.

Tho’ love can be pure
It sometimes can’t endure
or so it seems
save in one’s dreams.

“So I’ll see you there
sweet love of mine,
Where love will last
for all of time.” ~ Plh, 2016

Sunday Photo Fiction – A Beaker of Magic Passion!

Too too long since I have written flash fiction for Al’s wonderful Sunday Photo Fiction, click here for more information on how to enter your own short short story based on the photo (around 200 words) or to read some of the other delightful entries. Thanks Al.

To me the object in the photo looked like a beaker, the lights at the bottom a little bit like magic, so I wrote accordingly:

A Beaker of Magic Passion

“As you can see,” she whispered seductively, “I hold in my hand a beaker of passionate magic. It is up to you to decide what’s to be done with it.”

He scoffed. “More likely a beaker filled with your overactive imagination.”

“Perhaps, as you say, it is a beaker of imagination. Yet I have found imagination to be closely related to the nature of passions in one’s life!” She responded with a sweet smile.

“You speak nonsense.” He said.

The smile remained on her face although there was a strained quality to it. “It is nonsense only in this reality that you currently endorse as your life. But there are many realities and in mine, the beaker I have is filled with passionate magic. What do you wish me to do with it?”

His caustic laughter most unpleasant and dismissive with intent. “Do with it as you wish, my love. As you wish. I care not for your silliness. I shall go about my day doing precisely as I desire – without need for any mythological magic.”

Removing the stopper from it’s container, her smile became sad as she spoke. “I will do as you have requested. I wish for my own passionate love of you to be transferred to someone who loves and respects me believing that all things are possible if you believe they are.”

A moment later she vanished. He never saw her again, but over the years in his loneliness he often thought he could hear her gentle happy laughter echoing in the reality of the empty chambers of his heart.

But of course he knew it was only his imagination!

A Wish ~ Your Unfulfilled Reality!

image

A wish is an, as yet, unfulfilled reality just lying in wait foryourright moment to make it happen.” ~ Plh

There are those who believe in fate and there are those who believe nothing will happen unless you’re out there making it happen.

For myself, I think it’s somewhere in between the two. Wishing and dreaming often set in  motion the creative application of your imagination. This, in turn, can inspire within you a passion to achieve – the inspiration you’ve been waiting for to make things happen.

The only thing left then, is for you to believe you can do it. And of course you can!!!! For certain. Your wishes, your desires, your reality – YOURS!

Hope your week is going well, take care of you.
With much affection,

The Written Word

fon-knigi-25170Did I get your attention?

How about YOUR written word?

Okay, NOW that I have your attention, let’s spend just a few minutes there. Why do you write? You’re thinking to yourself well that’s a simple question but … in the marketing business one of the first questions you ask a new small business owner is why they’re doing what they’re doing (besides wanting to make money, that is, lol). You would be surprised at how many cannot answer that question very clearly, first time out.

So, here’s the question again. Why do your write? Well: 1) You enjoy writing creatively. 2)You have a message to pass on 3) You love to read a certain genre of book and now wish to try your hand at writing and publishing same.  4) You want to be published and make money.

Okay let’s assume that number 4 is a given (unless you’re independently wealthy in which case please contact me.)

Seriously, depending on how you answer that question really dictates the manner in which you should continue with your “finished” work. (Have a “pro” edit it first, please – worth the fee.) If you’re an independent sort, becoming an Indy Author could be a good thing. More research to learn how to self publish is needed, as well as more research on how to self market (once self-published) also will be needed. No pain, no gain (an old saying but true). Your self published book will not sell itself (sadly) unless you’re already a known and popular Indy author. And even they know they have to stay “out there” and market.

If you really don’t wish to do the extra work as an Indy Author then the traditional method of finding a Publishing firm who will do all the above, is the way to go. Again the saying “no pain, no gain” enters the picture because there is an incredible amount of individuals vying for the same thing you want. To be previewed and accepted by a Publishing house. This takes time and persistence as well. In the process you will learn more than you wished to know about policies and procedures as well as who to and how to submit your work.

Either route is time consuming and a serious commitment. It just isn’t going to happen overnight. You have huge volumes of competition (lots of other ‘would be” authors).

If you have the passion to not give up, to keep pursuing and you believe in your “written word”, you will achieve. Don’t forget failure is just another step on your way to success.

Key words to remember: Passion, Persistence, Determination. A sincere never give up attitude. And I’ll add one more thing … Get help. Don’t be shy, ask others (who are published) how they did what they did. Some of these published authors will take the time to answer you because they remember being there too.

I hope my words have been of value to you.

Have a great weekend coming up and as always take care of you.

With affection,

~ Penny

Today’s the Day to Begin: Your passion, your dreams, your goals – YOU!

abwishes

For most of us, by the time we’re adults we’ve become adept at one thing – an expert even, in many cases. We are creative geniuses when it comes to procrastination or excuses for why we’re not doing something. And it goes even further than that.

When things don’t go the way we think they should, we go a step further and blame others, situations or circumstances for why something isn’t happening for us. We end up being our own worst enemy.

The hardest thing to overcome is the infinite variety of rationales (excuses) we come up with, on any given day, for why we don’t start something or finish it … once begun. Once we recognize that  “we” are actually the problem, or at least our resistant attitude, things begin to happen. Make today your first happening day!

Always remember, it’s your choices and your passion that will get you were you want to be!

Have a great day and better tomorrow.

For The Romantics – Remembering the Passion of You!

IMAG4217-1 - Copy

I’ve Only To Remember …

the shadow of your smile, and there’s a …

a delicious feeling of passion remembered – when held close in your arms.

I’ve only to hear ‘our song’ to remember …

intoxicating intensity from the rhythm of our love.

I’ve only to dream of you and I remember …

delectable ecstasy during shared intimacy.

I’ve only to close my eyes to feel your hands upon me …

and I remember the searing heat from your touch.

I’ve only to think about you to remember …

the exquisite passion we shared throughout glorious nights

– when we were together.

I’ve only to remember …

~

As I said, this is for all the romantics. And yes I do have a romantic soul – rather obviously. For all those in love, hold fast to what you have. To all of us “Others”, well, there are always the memories and the tomorrows to look forward to! Never give up being Romantic, Passionate, or believing in same – it is worth it!

dot.(com) what may!

The Passion of Creativity

Well here we are. It is the year 2014. Nothing seems to be larger than interactive internet and the innovative technological inventions that permeate all, totally and completely overwhelming, and we are extremely addicted to same.

So what’s next? I don’t know but I believe it will be exciting and a very good thing. The global internet (as we know and understand it today) has brought people from all parts of the planet closer together. There is the business to business aspect of partnering world-wide (ecommerce), for not only multinational concerns but also the small business entrepreneur, and even greater than this is the private citizen’s amazing ability to communicate almost immediately, anywhere with anyone.

Team Spirit

More humans on the planet are understanding that the passion of a thing (fires the hard work that is necessary and) can produce results. And building reality from a dream, happens faster with a team and team spirit. (One only has to look at Silicon Valley to fully be aware of this.) Many, many, more humans are realizing there is potential, and that their dreams can become reality. The internet fosters those dreams and this is a very good thing, I believe.

hopeful dream to idea

Hopeful Dream to Idea to …

In conclusion I’d just like to add, there is no doubt or question that we humans are the proud parents of the Internet and while our baby continues to grow, we will continue to learn and grow with it. Why? Our passion for the creative, our need to grow as humans and our desire to be all we can be … come what may!

Congratulations to Jack Ma, his wonderful team and of course Alibaba … May you live long and prosper!

True Love … Myth, Passion or Something Other!

Dwelling on True Love

What is True Love? Sitting here thinking about it, I suppose I’d have to vote for it as being “Something Other”. Passion is most definitely excellent, but it does tend to have a place and time attached to it. Myth … well … the “living happier ever after” story doesn’t happen in the real world, so by the process of elimination I’m left with “Something Other”! True Love does fit best in this category. But of what does “Something Other” consist?

While I’ve learned the hard way about the myth of true love, most recently just a couple of years ago and, of course, it was painful and really hurt. But time does heal, mostly. and we move on.

The beauty of passion with your partner in the moment, well that is incomparable, most all of us would agree with that. And it would be a glorious thing if romantic passion could survive the various degrees of life’s intrusions, but it rarely does.

Coming up with a solid “something other” for what love can be between a couple is difficult. Something one can sink one’s teeth into (besides sweet delicate skin – oops, that’s passion again). Respecting your partner and appreciating them for how they are, in fact enjoying them for who and how they are would certainly fit in the “Something Other” category, for starters.

But for true love to last, it has to be founded on more than appreciation and adoration. There needs to be some sort of substance that binds. A sticky kind of emotional glue that is positive in nature not negative. Not a clinging love, or worse yet a controlling love, but an equality that exists mutually and completely between the two.

So Something Other must be something that binds two hearts so closely together that they think, in many ways, as one – while remaining clearly independent, their very own individuals. Not codependent as much as a heartmeld. A sharing of hearts, through the good and the bad both.  An understanding and acceptance of their own natures. A miniature ecosystem involving just the two of them as both the giver and the receiver. Yes I believe that would be the something other that makes true love last.

What say you, my friends?
