Ligo Haibun Challenge – Nature’s child am I

7445948_orig

There, upon thy woodland meadow, there stand I. Breathing fragrant essence of thine summer’s day. Silken blades caress my skin, the sky above, the earth below, I am one.

Glorious radiant sunshine, glowing down on me, my naked body suckles from thine nourishment. Though standing clothed in garments, I’m enveloped in array, of cloaked and warming amber ’tis thy gift you do convey. For nature’s child am I.

Forsworn as nature’s child, I was christened years ago. As nature’s child I abide, among the grassy carpet meadow, ’tis glory ’tis my own. A wreath, a crown of wildflowers bestowed upon my head. ’tis wonderment that I behold, nature’s bounty is my own.

Singing, dancing bare of feet, absorbing earthen brownness from your hallowed ground. Oh glory be your beauty, thine vision I behold. As nature’s child I welcome thee, blessing on your land. I will abide, need have no fear, I am here, e’er each long year, for I am yours, t’will always be, and as such will guard, preserving all I see, for I am nature’s child, ’tis my gift I give to thee.

Much ado about … everything!

This musical video “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life!” has a few words in it that can be considered offensive (I am being serious here). The song is from Monty Python’s movie The Life of Brian (1979) but the point is still well made. We take ourselves and our lives (and everyone else’s) far too seriously, too often.

The good news is … (wait, there’s good news?) … as I was saying, the good news is there is so much news, events, activities, things happening that everyone seems to have an opinion about, and so on, that the word “boring” (unless your referring to a drill) isn’t in most people’s vocabulary. At least not too much.

This is official “Lighten up Week” (well I don’t know that it’s actually official) but for goodness sake (your own sake – for starters!) look on the bright side of things. It is waaaaay to easy to look on the dark side (Imagine Darth Vader breathing here!) of things.

Take a break this week from the “Much ado” aspect of living. Be thankful and grateful for what you do have right this second. Enjoy those around you, make their day and yours a little bit better.

Have a great week,

The Art of being Playful -101!

Has anyone noticed that life can be a little … TOUGH!!!

worried

Life comes at a person fast and furious (on some days). Or dreary and overwhelmingly dull and even (should I use the word … depressing) on other days. Scary, Frightening, Sad, Miserable, Hectic, Cruel, Too much, too much, too much …

There you go. That’s us humans for you. We’re a very reactionary bunch aren’t we? We think and emote over almost everything. Maybe we’re too stationary. Or not stationary enough (mentally speaking)!

running

I think we need more “playful” breaks. Tickling and giggling are good. Just running with a burst of energy for no reason at all is good. Singing a fun song just for the heck of it.

“If your happy and you know it clap your hands.

If you’re happy and you know it clap your hands.

If you’re happy and you show it then the whole wide world will know it,

it you’re happy and you know it clap your hands.”

playing

Happiness is a state of being. It doesn’t “fix’ the problems of the world. But it certain puts us in a more positive productive mode (mood also) which can in fact change how we approach the problems of the world. Change your attitude and things don’t appear quite so untenable.

Saying I love you for no reason at all except you just want to in the moment (children do that spontaneously, you know).

sharing your feelings

And being sensual … as in my last post. That’s being playful also. On a list of top ten playful things for adults to do … Being openly sensual is right up there towards the top because we need each other and we need to let each other know this. A very good and “playful” reminder for you today.

It’s Thursday, a work day for many, still take a little bit of time today and be playful,

thanks for stopping by,

A new word for bloggers – Melafluidity!

Human emotions. They can be strong can’t they? Then add to these emotions a talented voice (artistic medium) you get a powerful and moving experience.

Celine Dion lost her father 10 years ago. On the occasion of this video, a live performance, she was in a country far from home. Prior to singing this song she had been speaking to the hostess, a personal friend of hers, about the closeness she always shared with her dad (always her biggest fan). She then took to the stage and sang.

This is a singular rare performance because this incredible songstress is putting every single bit of the loss for her father into her voice. She is clearly almost overcome with emotions but her voice comes out strong, clear and true. I call her singing this song in the manner that she did, along with the viewers sharing both the music and the depth of emotions with her. – Melafluidity*!

Her husband is there for her right after she finishes her song and her friend explains to the audience why Celine was so emotional. An amazing woman, with strong loving emotions!

Music to look forward to!

Josh Groban is one of my favorite inspirational singers. This is the official album/trailer, for his latest album – All That Echoes  coming out on February 5th! It’s also just great fun to watch creative and talented people behind the scenes working to bring all the musical magic together. As always Josh Groban is great. Enjoy the ride!

Hope you enjoyed,
