Power is the most Seductive…

… To Those Unfit To Rule!

But before there is power there is greed. Greed manifests the most amazing array of wrong thinking. The biggest of which are various and highly creatively justifications for being greedy, although different terminology replaces the word greed in this vindicating process.

Greed is amazingly like a virus and once getting a firm hold on a person’s psyche, it spreads like wildfire. And it is highly contagious.

So how much of a prosperous society is predicated on greed and how can one control this insidious emotional and mental disease?

If I suggested the cure for greed was simple, I’m pretty sure no one would agree with me. But if the words “personal discipline” were added to the mix, well then many more things become possible.

Sadly like the internet most of us have no self regulation. We emote all the various array of emotions at our disposal, with little regard for whether actions we take as a result of strong emotional wants (not needs) are a good thing or not.

And we confuse the leaders we elect or choose to follow by connotating greed for power with strength of character. But since, as we are probably aware, (if at a subconscious level) the desire for either power or the “good life” is now greed totally run amok, I’m thinking we’re about to pay a huge price for our own individual needs that (for many) have slowly been morphing into a part of the current greed scenerio.

So is there a way to conquer greed? I think not. Certainly not with the current view that more and even more is better, (regardless of the cost to others) and not until humans “as a whole” recognize and positively accept that each of us is a part of “the whole” of a complete living ecosystem.

And not until we all understand true abundance can only happen when the “whole” meaning “all of us” work together “as a team” for the good of everyone, not for just our own individual selves or a chosen few.

In Defense of … YOU!!! (You Are Loved!)

etherealme

Wow. So this is our life! Who knew? I’d like to say I’m speechless regarding everything that happens every day, every where, but of course I’m writing this on behalf of you so I’m not speechless. Perhaps overwhelmed would be a more appropriate term. Although even this word fails to fully express the emotions and thoughts each of us everywhere on this amazing planet are experiencing right now.

So where to begin? Firstly (yes I know it’s not really a word) do you know how incredibly awesome you are? A truth. Life isn’t easy, on the best of days we each have challenges to be faced. Some days we do really well, other days not so much. But this isn’t what’s truly important. What is important is the beautiful glow shining from within your ageless heart. You’re unique. There is only one made exactly like you so those vibratory beats coming from your heart are specific to you. Your beautiful music with it’s very own harmonizing sound.

Know this … at the same time your heart is beating you are connected to and harmonizing with every other unique living thing on our planet. How incredible is that? But it’s also a truth (scientifically speaking from a universal level).  And with the beating of your heart you share your very being (whether you are aware of it or not).

musicinsoul

You aren’t ever alone, especially during those times when you’ve convinced yourself you are. You aren’t unloved even on those days when you’re positive it is so. You are loved. You can feel the love if you relax, let go of preconceived, programmed ideologies that proliferate in our society today. Inside your consciousness is a memory of togetherness.

The thing is, our planet is alive and you and I are an intrinsic part of the whole. No less than any other living entity. We really do share much in common. Truly. Go beyond the words of things. Go beyond the negative thoughts, deeds and actions of some. Go beyond the “Social Media Perspective”, the “Commercialization & falsity or facade of life”, Go beyond your personal negative memories, your actions you perceive as failures, your doubts and fears of today and tomorrow. These are all just temporary things. The true love that is found in your heart of  just being is permanent  AND the whole of this eternal permanence is made up of life, all lifeincluding you.

We are all connected. You are loved and regarded in a wondrous manner. Believe this is so because it is a truth. The painful experiences we have are but a part of life’s journey. It’s time to remember how glorious you are, to be happy with the wonder of this … to find happiness from within and then share without.

The world is changing, have you noticed? And it’s time to know what is true. It’s time to believe in you! I do!

The 6th Day of Happiness – Finding the Real YOU!

dreamstime_xs_34881783

Are you the Real You?

In today’s modern world, from the time we’re born, we’re inundated with information about who we should be, how we should be and so on. With this never ending and ongoing input we can get lost in a miasma-like state of existence, permeating every thought we think and action we take.

Often, we become who we think we should become based on what others tell us. But who are we really?

How many changes have you made to accommodate someone other than yourself? How many things that you’ve wanted to do have you not done because of fear of the unknown.

When will you let the real you emerge and come out from behind the exterior shell you’ve built in the mistaken belief that you’re safe, when in reality you are letting LIFE – your life – pass you by.

So ask yourself this. Who am “I” inside of me, really? How do “I” feel about where my life is heading? What can “I” do about it?

On this sixth day of happiness I’d like to give you a huge “heads up”. I know the real you. And you’re amazing! And awesome! Uniquely individual and loaded with all sorts of original thoughts and ideas. Don’t let exterior influences take over. Be your own person. You are far more worthy than you realize. And if I know it, you can too.

So go ahead! Find the real you! I’m rooting for you. Begin by make things happen for yourself. Just take that first step … The one great – big – positive – harmonious thought of Believing – In YOU!

I DO!

Simple is as Simple does.

“I just want to leave, daddy!” the little girl said. “I’m not having any fun!”

“But honey, you’ve hardly ridden any of the rides.” The dad was concerned to see the unhappy look on his daughter’s face. He had been so sure, when he picked her up at her mother’s house for his “weekend time”, that she’d love to go to the carnival. Didn’t kids like these things any more?

“I don’t care. I just want to leave and go some other place. It’s noisy and all the rides are scary with people screaming. They’re rude and they keep bumping into us on the ground.” His daughter’s small hand held tightly onto his while tugging him in the direction of the exit.

“Well, wait a minute,” Her dad tried again. “Let’s go by the food stands, they have yummy treats to eat there. That’s always fun at carnivals.” He patted his substantial stomach while deciding there was always room for one more corn dog!

“No daddy, my tummy still hurts from the last ride and we can buy treats everywhere. I just want to go.”

The dad looked and felt very frustrated as they slowly maneuvered their way through the noisy throng of indifferent people who, now that he noticed it, all seemed to be running around in hyper mode; looking for the next great thrilling ride, or fat engorged snack or cheap plastic prize to be awarded for winning a “fixed” game.

When they reached the exit the dad turned to his daughter and impatiently asked “So where do you want to go?”

The little girl answered quietly. “Could we go to the park, just the two of us, walk around, feed the squirrels and maybe you could push me on the swing. Doesn’t that sound like fun, Daddy?”

*******

Is there a loss of pleasure in “simple things” today? Are we perhaps so inundated with the never ending media of thriller type videos, movies, TV shows, books and of course real life activities, it has become difficult to go to a simple and happier place!

The Essence of Truth

So I hung out with my friend “Willy” last night (William Shakespeare – love his words) and Muse showed up desiring to play, so my prose discusses the “today” of life that is so filled with commercial artifice and pretense, please enjoy!

truth

TRUTH

Is that you
The persistent hovering
near the backstory of my being …
Truth,where art thou?
I sense your longing
to reveal all.
You seem so close yet far away
I can’t quite touch you
surrounded by life’s illusions,
this glamour of falsity,
enticed by artificial pleasures.

~

Are you still really there?
Cloaked dissimilation,
Truth,
you present naught
but ambiguity of manner,
unrecognizable.
I cannot bear your distortion.
trapped within life’s backdrop
the current unfolding drama,
or should I say comedy
(of errors perchance?).
~
I sigh for such is life today
where truths are only words
… of which are played.
And we, most amateur of playwrights
unable to see you as you really are,
make much of puzzling enigmas,
while busily
fashioning the fashions
of the state of our being.

~

Alas, the curtain will still rise
the show must go on.
If  I could but see and know you
But truth be told
I don’t know that I would recognize you
from
the falsity of purpose
you’ve become.
Could you, would you
come a little closer
and give not just an essence
but a pureness of thought
word and deed,
For I find, we need you now
more than ever.

Festival of Colors

Yesterday in India there was the Festival of Colors or Holi (Hindi: होली,Nepali: होली, Punjabi: ਹੋਲੀ Sindhi: هولي), a religious spring festival celebrated by Hindus with a festival of colors.

To me the most excellent thing about the festival of colors is that it celebrates a time of the year that we can all celebrate. The coming of Spring.

The other wonderful thing about this festival is the equality factor. Holi lessens most of the things that normally separate people (social norms), which includes gaps between age, gender, status, and caste. So the rich and poor, women and men, enjoy each other’s presence on this day. No social expectations of “correctness”; as a result, the atmosphere is one filled with the joy of living life together.

Around the world there are/were many similar celebrations that take/took place. All for theOne primary purpose of coming together for the well being of society. If that is the case, it wouldn’t hurt (be a bad idea) for people everywhere to embrace a global “Festival of Colors! Anything that helps us celebrate unity and that we are all “one” on our planet – a very good thing to do.

Just my thoughts on the subject!

(feel free to take the “one” image with you to your blog site) There are no links back to my location. Since I made this illustration I give it to anyone who feels as I do about wanting “all” people on the planet to be regarded as “one” with everyone else!
