Hello November – Let’s make it a good one!

foto

For parts of the planet the weather is definitely getting colder. For other parts it is balmy and lovely! (I must admit to being a little bit envious for the warmth in those areas.)

It is Monday for most of us, Tuesday for some and a new week and month has begun.

What can we do to improve our day and those days ahead?

Well it isn’t going to be easy, is it? I mean, how can you determine the truth of what’s going on in the world around you sorting through the “heaps and heaps” of untruths, half-truths and play ol’ runaway insanity we are inundated with each day.

Common Sense

So here’s a thought. How about for starters, we use our common sense! For example “all commercials and advertisements” you are viewing online (regardless of what type of mechanical device you are using) – are there for the sole purpose of enticing you to buy something! (Always – No Exceptions, here!) So keep this in mind. Not just as a consumer but as an individual concerned for you and your family’s well-being.

Don’t buy into a “story” no matter how compelling because it’s “trending”. Use common sense. If you’re in a state (USA) where you’ll be voting the same logic should apply. Don’t “vote” just to vote. If you don’t understand the issue (you should) take the time to learn about it. Ditto with those who are running for a public office. Common Sense is an amazing tool when we take the time to use it.

legacyLegacy?

Yes, ‘Common Sense’ is absolutely better then ‘Omnipotent Hindsight’ which is how most opinions (we read about) are formed today – after the fact (spreading like wildfire) rather than securing needed information first – when the ‘actually facts’ can be of much needed value!

What is your ‘common sense’ quotient? Give it a try, you may be pleasantly surprised yourself, with how effective this tool can be for you!

Have a good November, make ‘common sense’ your new “norm”. And who knows? It might actually trend its way into some of the areas where common sense is sorely needed (because it’s obviously missing completely in those places).

Happy week to all, Stay balanced (with lots of love thrown in)! And never, never forget –

Internet take me away, let virtual reality be my lover!

dreamstime_xs_18978972

Of course I don’t mean this … of course I don’t … not really. Even if almost every single person I meet online in the blogging world is so darn wonderful. What’s up with that? It’s as if part of the criteria for become a blogger much less a Word Press blogger is to be cool, caring and talented too.

I can count on being entertained, informed and certainly having a caring and listening (figuratively speaking) ear when I blog or view YouTube, tweet on Twitter, post on Google+ or Facebook, plus all the other social media places one can go today to be creatively stimulated and cared for. I can certainly become engaged in a conversation and my day enhanced through beautiful sounds and sights and thoughts and ideas, written words, beautiful photographs, musical videos, and on and on.

I mean, my rescuing knight in shining armor really is one – online (well virtually speaking). Although, now that I think about it, I miss the white horse!

Well there you go, a beautiful while horse!

See, with our virtual world, it’s right there at our fingertips – fulfillment of a digital kind. Thank you, all you wonderful people in this online worldwide network of communications and connections! Have a great weekend everyone!

Are YOU an Innovator?

The Passion of an Innovator!

Are you an Innovator, just hovering inside a niche waiting to move into the mainstream by making a sizeable impact? Do stylistic explorations of “newness – being different from” define your idea or thought, (your personal creativity) going forward?

Understanding why this happens is not easy. Do you need to be “special?” A “genius?” No I think not! Do you need to be a superior marketer of your work? I don’t believe so, many artisans (of all shapes and sizes, crafters and creators) shy away from promotion even while being aware of its need.

What makes one brilliant “idea or creation” wildly successful, and another ignored? Look beyond the individual, however gifted, and beyond even the idea itself. Just as a painting is encompassed within its frame, innovators always operate in a market of some kind, and the success or failure of their idea is invariably contingent on its individual peculiarities.

First, the nature of the consumer is constantly evolving: Young, elderly, middle class, wealthy or not, local, national or global in its focus.

Second, new channels of distribution keep expanding and for each – a new breed of marketers emerges as well. These young, hungry and ambitious marketers are competing to find the next new thing first and sell it at the most compelling price possible.

In short, although I’m sure you’ve noticed, the Internet is a breeding ground for and very receptive to the commercial possibilities of risk-taking. Innovation appears to be extremely economically viable. Breaking with the past seems now demanded. This is the environment where an innovator will make his or her leap into the unknown.

Having an exceptional idea isn’t enough: if it is to catch fire, the market conditions have to be right – a question of luck and timing! The closest analogy is Silicon Valley in the early days of the dotcom boom, when venture capitalists and entrepreneurs were “out there” in the cutting edge of tomorrow.

Jeff Bezos success of Amazon was the product of a unique set of converging economic, technological and cultural circumstances, although with his passion for success he would have made it in any era. Steve Jobs, another who was passionate with his ideas, was “sure” of his innovative design at a time whenone_red everyday design was already becoming more important to consumers.

With the innovator, their talents have to be perfectly suited to the movement of the market. In a world that increasingly rewards experimentation – at a time when it’s cool to bend the rules of artistic endeavor – the level of the passion of the innovator seems to be the one key ingredient in all of them.

Stating this in another way; for your innovation to succeed YOU must still reach out and seize the moment.

Are you an innovator?

To whom do I have the pleasure of speaking to …

… Today?

Is it the ‘you’ that you’ve decided to be just for today? The one who is watching popular opinions.

The one who is waiting to decide how they feel about a thing depending on how it is trending, or even worse how someone else is spinning a story, turning an event into something else all together, where you don’t have the true facts but you aren’t inclined to put forth any additional effort to suss out the truth of the matter?

Are you the ‘you’ that feels insecure because of what life has handed to you and you’re not sure what to do with about it?

Or are you the you who is standing up and being affirmative about what’s going on in your life and your world.

You don’t need to grab a sign and race out down the street proclaiming the injustice of things (that would be cool though), but you can have an informed view.

You can care, you can voice an opinion and … (wait for it) … if so inclined … actually make some small little change in your life by stepping out of your own comfort zone into the real world of things and … make a small positive difference.

Beginning with how you view things.

Have you ever noticed how easy it is to be a bystander, to make judgement calls on others who are out there, at least trying to do good things (Even if they get it wrong, or fail or fall short of expectations – they’re still out there – aren’t they?).

And thought this does seems to be an era of finger-pointing, judgement taking people (which achieves absolutely nothing of positive value and is having disastrous effects), a helping hand would go a whole lot further!

So who am I speaking to … today, which one are you … I’d like to know?

Sometimes I ponder – The trending of it all!

When – What Then

When sands of time – cease to flow

When dreamers – cease to dream

When thinking thinkers – just don’t know

What then will come, what then.

~

When roaring rivers cease to flow

When laughter fades away

When breezy winds no longer blow

What then will come, what then.

~

If tomorrow isn’t there

And only now exists

Will my heart beat matter much

this moment to the next.

Ponder this – if you will: Is staying on top of – tuned into – and gravitating towards the next big trend of things really all that important in life? Really? What do you feel, where are you trending … and is it where you want to be tomorrow?

Thanks for the visit, I hope that your tomorrows are all they can be!
