Achieving a Winning Edge in a Cruel World.

“When your heart is open you can see love blooms everywhere – knowing the vibration of love is nature’s true essence for life and renewal.”~ Plh

The title of this article does sound rather stark, doesn’t it? Sadly, lots of truth going on “out there” to support this. Bullies who bully, Saddists with sick hurtful and just plain wrong agendas and Power Brokers who utilize our fears to achieve their goals, definitely not for the benefit of humanity or any other life form,  but rather to supply the demand of the greedy.

So what to do BE FEARLESS!

1. Remember the word “WE” needs to be inclusive for all of us to profit. Not exclusive depending on race, location, background, education, gender, age or any other thing that far too often can separate us (as humans) from each other.

2. Know that most of us are caring, loving, generous and extremely capable of awesome ingenuity, intellect, integrity, creativeness and productivity.

3. Hang out with the #2 group. Which is the majority of us (whew!). And most especially,  Don’t allow fear to control your actions. Be fearless, for yourself and others. Be true to fairness, loving values, and gratitude.

And as for the rest? Believe in you and your innate ability to not only make a positive difference, but to be happy and successful with all that you seek to do and be, regardless of naysayers!

As one of you, I wish you the very best in your endeavors. You are not alone!

Thank you. Have an awesome weekend.

With much love to you,
~ Penny

The Passions of the your mind! All you can be!

Hello and welcome.

Do you ever think about the nature of passion?  Your Passions! The passion and desire to be all that you can be. In the past I’ve written several posts and poems about passion.

Passion is tightly interwoven with all of our senses. So intimately are they connected that you can’t discuss the one without at least understanding the other.

When I first wrote about passion, last fall, I discussed the passion of both the writer and the reader. Later on I referred to “symbols” and used the heart (for example) while relating to love and the desire for one another. But passion is so much more vast in what it encompasses.

Our passions in life are often the fuel that give us the courage to go ahead, the motivation to do that which we so desire to do with our lives.

And I believe the power of passion is embedded within every single one of us (Both Men and Women)! It only needs your particular catalyst to be released.

Being passionate is really about your thoughts and senses overflowing with the strongest of your emotions – IN ANY AREA OF YOUR LIFE on ANY SUBJECT!

There are those who feel great passion inside, but releasing it is a whole ‘nuther thing. Embedded passion needs a spark to be ignited. But there’s a trick here, I think.

YOU are the one that will allow your passion’s release. For some this comes so easily, it seems … for others it is a struggle to open up your senses fully – breathe life in with big huge gulps – and embrace all that amazing potential life has waiting. Yours for the taking, just sitting there inside of you – waiting.

Passion is risky. You know that. There can be…consequences. But important things in life come with risks. Living life itself is a risk, but we can’t grow if we don’t challenge ourselves. (Are you listening to me “ladies”?)

This is the very nature of the fabric of life … living it. So what are you waiting for? What is your passion, because I believe that right now is your time! Go ahead release your passions – you can do this, your passion’s inside just waiting to be released:

Passion’s Release

Come…

I am here, inside waiting

Release me.

I can promise you emotions you have never felt.

The depth of my promise is as deep as

the deepest ocean,

as high as the mightiest mountain,

as wide and full,

as the canyons of dreams within your mind.

You will live as never before,

this I promise you.

Release me,

I will give you all you desire and so much

more, yours for the taking.

We will explore everything in life

and beyond –

the reaches of time and space

– infinity.

I can do this, I promise

Release me!

I will set fire to your dreams,

I will recreate ever wonder ever conceived

fashioned only for you.

Come,

Release me!

I am your reward for daring to live and love

and dance and sing and laugh!

Set me free – I am you, waiting to happen!

Have a great Thursday,

Failure – What it is and isn’t!

What is failure? Apart from a word none of us like hearing or thinking about!

Failure: The condition or fact of not achieving the desired end or ends!

Well okay, that doesn’t sound so bad. But it’s how we feel about it that can create havoc with our lives. Not the act of failing in and of itself.

I failed in my first business (financially a huge mess). When I mentioned this to another entrepreneur, at the time, he said to me, “you didn’t fail“!

And I said, “Well if you don’t count closing your business doors, owing a ton of money to a lot of people a failure … what do you call it?”

And he said, “Taking risks while you learn how to do something the right way.” Just so you know, at the time I strongly disagreed with him. I was the one that had to figure out what to do next. I was a single parent with no income, ruined credit and lots of bills to pay.

But guess what? he was right. When I creatively (and hurriedly) came up with a short term financial solution (got a job), spoke with each of the creditors and made the best arrangements I could at the time (and asked for short term help from my family – that was the hardest thing of all!) I got by.

Within a year. I had put together another proposal, went after more financing and was in business again.

So I advise you to look carefully at the actual meaning of the word failure. Because it isn’t the end of everything. That only happens when you give up. As long as you keep trying, you haven’t failed at all, you’re still in your learning curve!

“Consider failure as a temporary setback,
the price you pay to learn until you get it right!”

Where your heart leads

burning desire

Your heart is a symbol for creative activity. It is through your passions that you find the will to go where you want to go, do what you want to do, and be who you want to be.

Fire up your heart, kindle your passion, dream BIG, imagine BIGGER, and fire up your desire so greatly it will become deeply ingrained in your subconscious! You will not be able to stop yourself. Your entire personality will willingly follow where your heart leads.

You’re creating a groove that becomes fixed in your mind each time you become passionately determined to accomplish something. And as you win your heart’s desire, you will come to expect the best from yourself.

So on those days when you don’t think you can do something, rekindle the passion and desire for that which you want. and do remember …

“Where the heart leads, the mind and body follows!” ~ Penny L Howe, 2013

Do you run towards life …

or from it?

running from life

A simple question with a not so simple answer. There are easy days and then there are the hard ones. Some of us run in the hopes that the scarier aspects of life won’t overtake us. Some of us run because we’re sure if we run fast enough we’ll make it. Some of us are afraid to stop … and some of us are afraid to start.

(the film quality isn’t the best of this YouTube video – but the content is!)

~

At the very heart of who we are is the desire to succeed in our endeavors. The thing is we can only make it in life – if we are moving forward. For those of us who have decided the whole prospect seems too overwhelming.

there is a third option ~ try running along with life.

Go with the flow, one day at a time.

Works for me, maybe you too!

The Ripple effect – How to succeed in life!

ripple effect

The Ripple Effect – Creating your own waves of Success

~

The shortest self-help guide ever!

Have you ever thrown a rock into a body of water (of course you have) and watched the ripple effect that happens afterwards? You watch the water rippling wave after wave, spreading further as it travels outward. It’s the science of the thing.

Did you know the same thing happens in Life! Your life.Yes it does.

negative ripples

negative attitude – negative ripples

~

Imagine yourself as the fulcrum of the ripple –“the rock”! (No not the actor/wrestler!) So then something negative happens and you dwell on it (rock dropping here). Then you begin to think negative thoughts and splash (ripple effect). You negatively affect yourself and everything you do, and then those around you, and they – those around them, and so forth and so on. You know this is true.

And that’s the point. The ripple effect is going to work regardless.

So why not let the ripple effect work for you instead of against you. Seems logical.

Just imagine if you take that really great idea you have of what you want to do or be (a published writer perhaps). Start focusing all your attention on that. You’re the rock – remember? Keep “this” particular image centermost in your focus. The greater the focus on your desired goal, the greater the ripple effect. Each strong creative wave will beget another and another.

Ripple Effect - An Attitude of Success

The Ripple Effect of a Positive Attitude

~

Here’s the important part: When the ripple effect starts (your ideas, hopes, dreams, goals), stay in control of the flow of the ripple. Leave no room for doubt. Maintain your belief in yourself and your dream. Never give up, be persistent, persevere. The longer you maintain this attitude the further out the ripples will spread.

You will then be exactly like the rock producing the ripples. Hard and firm in your conviction to succeed. And the ripples being produced by you will go on and on, leading you to your success.

Remember it’s science and it works! Make it work for you. Start today!

It shouldn’t be about winning or losing …

It should be about being the BEST you know how to be!

file000736275439

Stay focused (like this beautiful guy in the photo) on your personal goals, and remember …

Winning is just an added bonus .. losing a most important experience to learn from.

Well unless you’re playing chess. Truthfully even in this the most classic and excellent game of strategy it should still be about being your best, not better than the other person.

The best form of competition is the one you have with yourself! Penny L Howe, 2013

Have a wonderful week,

The Lemmings Express – Awwwfully Interesting!

Awww-fully Interesting – Group Mentality!

Lemming is the name for a number of small, plump animals related to the mouse. Lemmings live in the cold, northern most parts of our world. One of the most well-known kind – the Norway lemming – lives in the lands of Scandinavia. I’m Norwegian so cast no aspersions here.

This little guys grow from 31/2 to 7 inches (9 to 18 centimeters) long. They live for about 2 years.

About every four years, in most cases resulting from overpopulation, the number of Lemmings in the wild become greatly reduced.

Scientists believe severity of winters, diseases, and behavioral changes due to “stress” trigger these extreme die-offs.

Some people believe that large groups of Lemmings throw themselves from cliffs. But Lemmings do not deliberately kill themselves.

Lemming suicide is fiction. They do not periodically hurl themselves off the edge of a cliff. What is not fiction is that as a result of population explosions, Lemmings do attempt to migrate to other areas to relieve the pressure.

During the course of the migration (because of being so closely grouped together), they can fall over cliffs or drown in waters.

These are not deliberate deaths but rather the result of a Lemming’s (group mentality here – staying with the herd) venturing into unfamiliar territories and being crowded and pushed over dangerous ledges.

The truth of the matter is when the competition for food, space or partners becomes too intense, Lemmings are more likely to kill each other than to kill themselves!

Now if anyone is thinking that there is a play on words here and that this is a veiled reference, a hidden meaning – BINGO you win!, Metaphorically speaking of course! GOT IT? Thought so!

Thanks for the visit, have a great day by being “that very special unique and separate from the crowd person” that you truly are!
