Cuddling with Franky and Jonny from the cold!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Baby it’s cold outside!

To say the least! Very very cold and so this morning in a fluffy warm robe and with one of my “guys” I cuddle (with Franky) to stay warm!

Franky’s brother (Jonny) is keeping my feet warm. Between the two of them they average 25 lbs each, so there’s a lot of fur to help me stay warm and in this cold weather I am appeciative!

For all of you dealing with wintry cold weather this week, stay safe and warm, for all of you who are somewhere warm and wonderful (lucky you!) Enjoy.

Everyone have the best ‘rest of the week’ that you can!

ps – the middle photo is new. the top and bottom photo’s with all the snow are older shots of some snowy times with my guys. I know that in many parts of the USA, right now you are dealing with lots of snow so decided to include these photos! Average temperature here has been in the single digit for the past few weeks so definitely brrrrrrrrr!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Curves

A very curvy Snow cat ~ shaped by Emma

Hello.

As you know I don’t normally do photo challenges but this weeks WordPress Photo Challenge of curves sounded like fun. Also I wanted to submit a drawing for ‘Time out for Art’, also I wanted to write a brief post about the summer of things versus the winter of things, also Emma had asked me to showcase some of her creative work. (As if that’s ever a problem, lol).

A cartoon drawing by Emma. Having fun building a snowman in winter.

One of the things we females do extremely well, is multi-task so without further ado. My photo entry for the Weekly Photo Challenge of curves (Emma’s). The drawing, for Lisa’s of Zebra Designs and DestinationsTime out for art (Emma’s). Expressing herself through her art form, drawing multiple drawings per day is the norm. for her.

And I … well I sit here viewing both Emma’s creative molding of a snow cat (she loves cats), a cartoon drawing of a snowman (she makes her own cartoon videos) depicting the fun we can have in winter on even really cold days while out on the patio this morning where it’s a warm and breezy blue skied day outside!

There you go! a Challenge, a time out, some feel good feelings of sharing a young girl’s creativity and a reminder that, yes indeed, summer is just about here and celebrating the difference between the two seasons.

Here’s the Artisan herself: Emma (And yes she designed and colored the hat and shirt)!

I’m going to sip a little more coffee as I publish this, everyone have an excellent weekend!

Being at one with nature – take two!

In my post just previous to this one, it was suggested to me (in the comment section) that depending on where you live right now, being “at one” with nature can be a more difficult proposition (not mentioning names here Alastair!) So just for you, here is take two of being at one with nature!

Now if everyone had a good laugh (if you didn’t get it go to the photo of the previous post – should be obvious then!) And now to leave you with a different mentality of being at one with nature!

A wish for snow … and snowflake kisses!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

What is it about the first fall of snow?

Can’t quite explain but it is a most magical feeling. According to the weather forecast it’s falling everywhere near where I live (even on WordPress – lol) but not here. Sigh!

snowflake kissesJournal Entry ~ It is night outside, right now as I write this. Very dark outside. Overcast. No moon glow, just cold and windy and no snow. But if I were to step outside, right this very minute and begin to see snow falling, slowly at first and then faster and in ever thickening delicate  flakes and swirls – I know my heart would sing. I would feel a lightness to my being and a joy that this wetness sticking to my hair and face was giving me “mother nature” kisses of love. I would be most happy for this event. ~

(I’ve always felt that the very best time for it to snow is during the holiday season. Unless you have to drive in it of course lol – Still …) I will stay hopeful. Everyone be safe, warm and filled with festive thoughts this day and all the month long.

Thank you for your visit!

The First Snow ~ The Winter Fairy comes

First Snow – The Coming of the Winter Fairy

There had been, for the last few days, a crisp coldness to the air – sharp and tangy. the smooth pastel grey of the overhanging clouds, so close you can almost touch them.

I think snow is on the way and this means the arrival of the Winter Fairy.

~

She makes her entrance with no sound at all while all of us glory in the beginnings of the majestic beauty of quietly falling snow.

~

It makes no difference if you’re a child or an adult, there is something so magically beautiful, exciting and peaceful about watching the first snow flakes fall.

~

And then get thicker and larger falling in abundance all around, covering the landscape with fresh wintry snow.

~

It is a happy feeling.

So white, so beautiful, so heavenly – The first snow and the coming of the Winter Fairy.

Thank you for stopping by, hope your week is being a good one for you,
