Night
dark
sensation
tantalizing
strokes of shadows.
Reaching
caressing
moist
tasting
inhaling
sensual shadows.
Memory?
Thought?
Dream?
Ah, je ne m’inquiète pas!
I
succumb
submission
release
pleasure
deeply satiated.
Slumber now,
Shadows Release.

Hope you like my “prose of surreality”. Thanks for stopping by, ~Penny
a beautiful poem Like the descriptions
Thank you padmini!
Yes, Padmini. I also like it 🙂
It is such a welcomed “state” …the one you describe here so passionately. I love this Penny… it does capture that feeling we are fortunate to know – somewhere between the conscious and the unconscious… that feeling is always a gift. To succumb ~ and release to this is simply Divine. Amazing poetry my dearest friend ~ Love to you ~ x RL
Thanks Robyn, the ol’ muse driven thing, well okay and the sensual driven thing too, lol! Much love to you, xo
lov this …:-)
Thank you very much!
Ahhhh..
Penny – you go with your sensual self – Love it!
xx 🙂 🙂 xx
Thanks RoSy! Got a little carried away! 🙂 xo
Funny you should mention “surreality”. Have you ever read Juan Rulfo’s “Pedro Páramo?” Published in 1955, it’s been heralded as a masterpiece of true surrealistic fiction. It’s a small book, so you could practically read it in one sitting. But then, you’d have to read it in one sitting because it’s so bizarre. It’s worth the trouble, though, if you’re into that type of literature.
I have not read Juan Rulfo’s “Pedro Páramo?” But will check it out. Thank you Alejandro, I do enjoy the creativity of different writing styles.
very sensuous in just the right places
Thank you!
Oh la la!
Yeah, blushing a little bit, it was that Celestine – but fun too!
AnElephantCant say what he thinks here
He would be sent very quickly to the bench
Your sensuous thoughts
Tie his trunk in knots
And then you say something in French!
Quite exquisite, Penny.
Thank you, anelephantcan’t know how much his praise is appreciated by myself! Have an excellent evening my dear friend! 🙂
Ah, je ne m’inquiète pas – parfois vous avez juste obtenu d’aller avec elle et pas les soins et être juste ….
Belles paroles exprimées cher Penny … 😉
Indeed Roxi! Going with the flow in the moment! 🙂
It’s as if the poem is being dreamed.. single words… floating out from a place of shadows… truly lovely!
Thank you very much!

Thank you Stefan. You have a nice evening with pleasant dreams. I will say “hi” to Emma for you! Thanks again, dearest friend 🙂 xx
What a lovely post, Penny.
It reminds me of that moment just before or after sleep where you aren’t sure if something is real or a dream. Mind you, it’s been a long time since something like that 😉
Thank you Alastair that is precisely what I was going for here, those sort of awake not quite asleep moments we each can encounter. 🙂 xx
It’s a great recount of it. Another brilliant piece.
